I have an idea on how they could improve fire in the third installment. They should add an overheat system to machines, kind of like the faro bots. If a machine was on fire, it would have to either shed some of its armour, or rearrange it to cool down. (An example would be the plates over the thunderjaw's heart swinging open to expose the heart to cool off, thus giving you a nice juicy target.) I think this would work really well on some machines, especially the bigger ones, say a rollerback automatically has to eject its armour so it can cool down briefly before reattaching them.
That's a great idea! It would definitely make fire much more viable and useful 👍
Yeah and fire weak machines will either open up more or for longer and fire resistant machines will just burn without a care
@@matthewapril3119 That's also a fantastic idea, with fire resistant ones just not caring, such as the fireclaw. It's on fire anyways, it wouldn't make sense if it had to cool down.

It is interesting the stages in which FW unlocks. You have the actual tutorial, which you can skip, but you really don't if you want all of the story. Then you have the Daunt, which is another form of tutorial that you can't skip and you're locked to that area until you complete the Embassy, which opens up No Man's Land, but you're still locked until you get to the which only then unlocks the entire map.
Exactly! Yeah and I think that's part of why some people give up on the game. They don't get through all these stages and, understandably, feel too restricted early on. In Zero Dawn, you're thrown into the tutorial right away (and it's a very compelling story being told through the tutorial at the same time) and then you're pretty much free to explore the Embrace right afterwards. And, if you want to, you can just focus on the main story and you'll get out of the Embrace very quickly.
hoyl balls how many maps are in FW? i intentionally kept myself int he dark for 2 years with FW so i can enjoy it pretty much blind when it comes to PC.
like this map is colossal in comparison to Zero Dawn isnt it?
Oh no sorry, I can see how what VooDoo and I were saying is confusing. It’s not that there’s a bunch of separate maps. It’s just that you sort of progress to different areas of the make in stages at first before it fully opens up. The map is a little bigger than Zero Dawn, but it feels even bigger because there’s so much packed into it to explore.
@@ArktixOfficial OOOOH ok that makes more sense, the map is more segmented early on and gradually opens up as you progress the main story, unlike in Zero Dawn where once you leave the Nora Lands you can head right for Meridian, head past it or go right to the Frozen Wilds Story Area.
thats interesting, WELP im bout to find out tommorrow morning when the game unlocks :D ive been hyped for the game to come to PC ever since it was announced. and now the day finally arrives, i loved Zero Dawn even cleared it on Ultra Hard, plan to do the same for Forbidden West, but first playthrough is a story playthrough.

I started playing this on PS5 but since it came out right before elden ring it got lost in my library and I switched over to playing most games on PC. Now nothing is in the way and I can dedicate some time into this came. Just finished another playthrough of Zero Dawn to get ready.. Fully agreed, and I JUST replayed the game a few days before release, stuff, like using the analog sticks to throw rocks or droo traps got me killed so many times, unwanted boxes kept popping up.
For the smoke bombs if you don’t want to do the little side quest early on you can just purchase it straight from a merchant. I ended up just buying one from a merchant and that unlocked the recipe for it.
Yes good point! You don’t necessarily need to go get them from the Oseram. They do give you a few free ones though!
I played the game at launch on my PS4 Pro, but after I haven't been back since then. My sister pre-ordered the game on PC for me for my birthday present and I am completely stoked. Since I haven't played since right after launch I know that there's been a lot of changes to the game and that's a giant cherry on top of an already awesome chocolate sunday.

Im playing HFW in similar style with HZD on UH, i almost quit at middle of the game storyline due how hard and DIFFERENT it is. Then i found Glowblast Sharpshot Bow, that's when my HZD playstyle comes to shine. Put all tear mod and you have highest tear damage weapon stripping nakes all those machine really fast. Really useful again those Batwing.
HFW have interesting melee combos, and some of them can be very useful
Does your gear carry over into NG+ like it did in ZD? Are we able to do multiple playthroughs to max out our gear and mods like ZD?
Yes and yes.
I think this double tutorial thing started off the success of Breath of the Wild. You had a basic tutorial cave, then you went to the great plateau, which felt a lot like the Daunt
HFW improves upon SO many things from HZD. Its one of those rare moments where a sequel is even better than the first one!
Agreed! I do enjoy the story of Zero Dawn more, but the story is still good in Forbidden West.

I really wish we could leave the Daunt+Forbidden West because even though I liked West more the Zero Dawn I thought the world in Zero Dawn was prettier.

Hmm...that would be a tough video to make. There's tons of options and a lot of them come down to personal preference. I do have a series of videos on the best gear for each stage of the game.

Can any1 tell me if I apply a status faster by hitting weakpoints or not? Im seeing mixed results about this. Like I want to freeze a machine with a hunter bow, do I hit weakspot to freeze faster or it doesnt matter?

I’m going to use mouse and keyboard for my PC playthrough just to switch things up after so much time playing the game on controller. I will miss the haptics on the DualSense controller though. If I was going to use a controller on PC, I would definitely use a DualSense.
I do have a dualsense edge but really like mouse usually. My only worry is that this game has so many things to control. Please, share with us your exact keys setup, as that will be vital right off the bat. I as well as others I'm sure would appreciate your valued input. Thanks again!

Is it just me or is the focused shot technique inconsistent? I notice when shooting machine weakspots or human head that a normal overdrawn shot will deal slightly more than a focused shot?

Don't leave main story to long or you will be overleveled and combat gets to easy .I was doing level 17 main story quest while I was at level 27 because I did to many side quest .

I want to get FW on PC but I have a gtx 1660 Ti Ryzen 7 :// 6 core :/ I have ZD on my ps4 pro and I love the game but I don’t want to spend 60 for poor frame rate………but I want it!!!
1660 Ti could probably run 1080p 60FPS with low settings. Or maybe 1080p 30FPS with medium settings.
I've noticed that upgrading and wearing the right gear for the given enemies you're going up against is far more important in Forbidden west than it was in Zero Dawn. Not just for the combat enhances, but for the damage mitigation as well. In Zero Dawn it was just about having the best gear/coils set and forget, but in Forbidden west it is a little more necessary to gear around what you're currently fighting and how you're fighting it.
The more I play the more I hope for a mod that creates a higher difficulty for new game plus.

@@ArktixOfficial YES!!! Right now ultra hard is too easy for legendary weapons however I don’t want to use weaker weapons since they are so fun (and by “they” I mostly mean the ancestors return).

6:50 glitchy robot noises
The increase difficulty is something that needs stressed a lot because the game won't really outright kill you if your build and technique sucks. If you just play like you did in zero dawn everything will be a bullet (arrow?) sponge and you will be devastated by every attack. Which isn't fun. Gathering berries when you just happen to run into some is cool but hunting for them after every battle is tiresome The game expects you to figure out a lot and just doesn't spoon feed you what to do. It's much better than Zero Dawn that enjoyment just isn't free.
To good point! You definitely need to be ready to adjust your playstyle in Forbidden West.

I played it on the PS4 when it came out and loved it! But I couldn't play the DLC since it was for PS5 only.
I think the combat will be more fun if they remove the rpg elements. You kill machines by dismantle them. You destroy a leg, them cant run anymore, something like that and the "core" function like a "head", if you managem to destroy them, the machine is done for.
But what about the elemental attacks, I personally enjoy the fact that most elements have a practical use and aren't just damage multipliers.

Don’t worry! If you turn down the difficulty you can still make it easy.
On my first playthrough of HZD on PS4, I struggled with the combat - until I realised that I should be using Tearblast arrows to remove armour. After that elemental arrows did a LOT more damage.

You can get ghost levels if you continue playing after reaching level 60. You continue to get XP from killing machines.

That weapon wheel makes me sad. Why did they have to change everything? Now it’s almost mandatory that you’re running around with 18 ammo types? Like why? Why change a solid foundation? The original game had satisfying combat without bosses that are bullet sponges.

The weapons technique are not new
They are actually. Triple notch is not new, but all other weapon technique is. And triple notch was not a weapon technique in ZD. It was just a skill.
