I actually had really good experience with Sony products. They seem to last quite long. I have a CRT TV from the mid 1990s back at my grandma's house and the picture is still nice and sharp, albeit the audio sometimes doesn't work (but that's just from age I guess). I also had an older Sony Mini-DV camcorder that, despite being 480p, actually shot very sharp and clean video, plus the image stabilization was extremely smooth.
Can't say that about LG tho.
I've had bad experiences with LG as well. I used to have LG phones as my main device for 5 years, all except one were absolute trash and stopped working properly in less than a year
I have a Sony trinitron from the mid 90s myself. In great working condition. Solid technology imo
i had an lg tv and after two years the picture started to look awful. switched to an oled sony tv and we have not looked back
@@lunglesschest i am living in a private dorm rn and they have installed LG TVs in every room. My TV has a very odd fault where the image is only blue, no signs of red or green or anything else. prior to that i had an LG radio that stopped working not long after I got it.
And I have an LG computer monitor that has a faulty HDMI port, it can only display 1024x768 as opposed to 1080p.
this is more of a case of older tech being built to last way longer, both by nature and design, kinda unfair to compare decades old CRT to phones from a few years ago

Good to see Sony tech is still serving you well, my £379 Sony XM5 headphones are NOT serving me well! When watching CZcams on my laptop, I hear skipping every minute or so and when using iTunes, there's no audio at all! Audio started glitching during iPad use and even after I turn off Speak To Talk, noise cancellation still turns itself off quite a bit! (Only just started to)!
My parents only bought me these because the other residents at my care home almost always have their TVs loud and these headphones DID serve me well when I first got them, but now they don't work so well so hopefully we'll return them soon! (I still need to note down what's wrong with them)
I'm only at this out-of-town care home because when the care provider who own it took over the place who owned the training flat where I was living prior, they found the flat was a fire risk, because the only way out from upstairs was through the kitchen, so they made me move out of town to a place they own, but the other residents have learning disabilities different to mine and I have nothing in common with them! Hopefully soon, though, after my previous place rearranges who sleeps in what rooms and who lives in which flats, I MIGHT get to move back!
At my current place, my house "mates" feel they NEED external speakers hooked up to the TV, even the living room TV, they feel they NEED TV to be as loud as possible and I can't take it! You do NOT need your TV THAT loud! If you wanted 7.1 cinema sound, I'd be more forgiving, but this is a VERY BASIC 2 speaker setup that does nothing more than make their shows louder! One resident doesn't like wearing headphones full stop and LIVES ON loud noise! I wonder how he'd manage life if he one day lost his hearing?
I can't believe residential care in my country is SO BROKEN! Your current place of residence being a fire risk should NOT mean having to move far out of town! Instead, they should move you into another nearby property!
You should check out the Sony ZV E-10. It combines the best from both cameras.

I’m pretty fond of Sony products actually. My PS4 console itself has been pretty solid, the controller aren’t as good, but they get pretty worn down over time. We’ve got a few old Sony TVs around the house and they’re still kicking. One has a dead HDMI port after a lightning strike, but it still works great. My brother has some Sony Earbuds (with some wonderfully long name) and he loves them more than the AirPods he’s had.
