    Dang. I just finished reading Comfort Crisis and wanted to a grab a bag. Was convinced on a 3.0 but can't get it now. Don't like the 4.0. Lack of pouches and zippers is the deal breaker for me. Lack of 2nd plate less so, but disappointing. Will just continue to use my RunMAX I guess. Hopefully the 5.0 brings back these features so I can buy one!

    I bought a 4.0 25L and overall, it's a solid pack. However, the velcro enclosures on the inner pockets are annoying to open and close...especially flap which gets in the way when closing. Zippers would have been so much better, along with keeping the outer zip pocket from the 3.0. Still, very satisfied with the pack.

      Yeah, I'm hoping we get zippers back in the 5.0 but I wouldn't hold my breath. The 3.0 is still the most complete bag in my opinion. Aside from 500D and a really cool color the 4.0 is meh.

Example: the comparisons to the 3.0 and the 4.0 with regards to the Velcro pockets inside the bag. Kinda funky, but I’m sure there was a reason for that…that’s up to me to find out. They’re closing the gap so much with the long range ruckers vs the gr2. With a lot of people not needing a bombproof laptop compartment, I can’t justify in my mind why they keep both on product line and charge much more for one. I’ll probably pick up a 20L for pt 20/30LB exercise and less than 26.2 mile rucks. I will miss the extra pocket inside the bag (bladder keeper) more than the front pocket. I recommend a hillpeople gear kit bag for quick access items on front of your body.

    As someone looking to do his first goruck event, how important is it to have a Rucker vs a GR1? I have a 21L GR1 right now but I have been going back and forth on whether to sell it for a Rucker for daily workouts and also events. I can’t keep both right now.

      @JBOutside1  Před rokem +1

      GR1 is totally and option. You’ll just have to be more careful with the weight plate and how you secure it. There are different shapes of plates for the GR1. If you plan to get serious and abuse that ruck then maybe a Rucker makes sense. But to start, using the GR1 makes sense and then find out how you like it.

      Military studies have resulted in the recommended max being 50 pounds. Rucking is "ok" for fitness but hits a wall of diminishing returns versus spine and joint strain. Nothing wrong with only 30lbs in a pack this size, it's most people's recommended pack weight for proper backpacking and we're talking people who do way more distance than ruckers.
