Might just be the best speaker on the Internet. Everything said just makes sense
Mr. Wildman, you are a fantastic instructor. As a 60+ year male, I have followed your kettlebell strength training and hip flexibility exercises, and my lower back has never felt better. My fitness, physical confidence, and mental well-being have been enhanced because of your videos. Thanks so much!
Which programs from where please?
@@adamteakle4937 I would like to know what program too.
This channel is so underrated. Mark Wildman helped me a lot with my kettlebell journey halfway across the globe by just watching his videos since my kb day one. Thank you Mark. Cheers!
Same here. Started my kettlebell journey just watching his videos. His instructions on the Clean technique is what let me get the movement and not bang my wrists.
Same here being a very old guy (70+) Mark has taught me a lot over here in Australia. Have done physical labour most of my life so did have a reasonable health/ strength set point. Mark has filled in all the gaps given me both the hows and whys to do things safely. Can honestly say I walk around with an ease and strength that most people even 15 years younger seem to lack. Abit of a hard workout in the fresh air tyre sled pulling one day then kettlebells the next day then rubber band workout another day. Mark has also got me interested in Indian clubbells now they look very cool. Stay strong stay kind stay positive and life is richly good. Big Thank you Mark from Sheragal
Scene: Wildman Athletica Marketing Team Meeting.
“We’re missing a key demo. Research shows that we need to soften his image to attract these customers.”
“The feedback says Mark comes off a little too intimidating, how can we remedy that?”
*awkward silence*
“A puppy? Maybe he can hold a puppy?”
*everyone nods*
“Yes, definitely. But what kind of puppy? We still want to project strength.”
“German Shepherd? Doberman? Rottweiler?”
“Let’s go with Rottweiler, that matches Mark’s energy. Vanessa, thoughts?”
“Adorable.”
“Excellent. Good work today, team, I think this is really going to make a difference in our brand’s appeal.”
🤣this is perfect!
I credit Mr Wildman for helping me build a "workout habit"... Watching these videos where you do kettlebell and clubs moves while wearing regular street clothes and boots clicked something in my brain. I realized that me changing to workout clothes did not automatically result in a workout, I was more likely to get distracted or lose motivation. So I started doing a few swings as soon as I got home, while still in my work clothes. Over time the more workouts I completed, the more my motivation grew, and now two years later, I'm at the place where it has become a habit- I "need" to work out every few days to feel normal. Thank you 🙏🏽
What you mentioned is very interesting. I understand your point.
Thanks Mark. Your clean press squat nerd math video has kicked me real hard in the monster direction this summer. Portages in my week long boundary water's trip were clear proof. 55 and staying in adventure mode.
"consider that bad and don't do it" belongs on a t-shirt
Thank you Dr. Wildman!
Thank you 🙏 I look forward to more of your videos
One of the most underrated channels on CZcams.
Brillant and really useful video; thanks for posting.
Excellent info, also...LOVE that k5Blazer...set up is perfect
Thanks as always. I have learned so much from you videos over the years. You do a great job of helping us learn proper technique. And now after this I have a few more things to practice.
really looking forward to the single arm mill episode!
Ugh. This one is brutal. Now I kinda have to implement them again. Thanks dude 😏
As I am nowhere near ready for this, I am here for the glimpses of the puppy.
And the point about being more likely to actually work out if you can do it where you are is so true. Being able to workout in a quiet corner during my lunch break was a huge part of why I have stuck with the program for 32 weeks and made progress in the amount of weight I can lift, the types of exercises I can do, and my overall life functionality to do what I want to do.
Winning everyday. Training to be a better human forever!
Thanks for sharing at 3:31 marker how to pick up KBs from floor. I always had issue on starting out the swings; cleans . Wealth of knowledge ; and so many pointers x great queues in each vid. And a man with matte black gen 1 Bronco is aces in my books !!!! Interesting how you enforce walking with feet forward . I was always corrected as a child . Finally, how you tie everything to MA BU !!!! Nippon have the FUDOH stance (aka SUMO stance) . If I ever end up in CA part of town ; would love to train with ye. Thanks for all great pointers again.
More of the rotty pup, please! 😍
This channel has saved my behind from many minor injuries due to poor form. It’s unbelievable the strength & conditioning gains I have achieved in 2 years. I started doing swings with a 20lb bell and would gas out in under 100 swings. I do 400-500 a day with 70 & 80 lbs today. I picked up a pair of bow flex adjustable bells a few years ago, which are a tad bulky, but get the job done. I’m definitely grabbing those bells you have soon.
Thanks again a bunch Mark!
To whomever it helps, the cue that worked for me when setting up my heels was to drive my heels and toes into the ground like I was gripping the floor with my feet. Then open my hips up by squeezing my glutes and slightly driving the knees out. Gave me a great deal of stability when doing the double clean.
Great demonstration as always! I only use the double kb clean to clean up my 2 16s for double front squats as I have outtrained my 24kg kb with goblet squats. Still keeping a single kb front squat and single kb clean and press in the programme though! Might throw in double clean and jerk when I move in single kb c&p to 20kg though.
Having the L of the hand on the L of the kettlebell handle soon made enormous sense when I incorporated it into my technique, upon which, "thumbs point back" at the bottom also became clear: both of these ingredients encourage the hands to twist the kettlebells so they rotate into the top of the clean rather than drop into position from above. Dropping into position from above is not only jarring but it requires more upward force, so your point about doing this way so that eventually the weights can increase also makes sense. Thanks!
Very well said you are obviously a deep thinker
God bless you sir for teaching people how to clean in proper rack position.
If I could do it again I would invest in adjustable bells.
Titan fitness comp bells can be had for under 100USD. Ive got double 48lb and double 54lb. Those alone were almost 400USD.
Would love to see a discount code on the heavy club program as well along with the bodyweight programs. 🙏
This is really good exercises for manual labours. We lift things from the ground or inset off of pickup beds all the time. I love kettlebells to train for that. Great for functional fitness.
Goddam, wish i heard about this a while back ago. Great innovation!
Just upgraded to 15 kg kettlebell and its a game changer 30 minute workouts and its amazing stuff!!!
Would love a dkb snatch video like this
Puppy !
It's not necessary to drop a barbell that's been cleaned. Just lower it to thigh level, then to the floor. I've been doing that for over 50 years. The eccentric is half of the benefit.
"You need to be good at standing if you want to be good at everything else." 😅😂
Will pulling the shoulders down reduce strain on the elbow/tricep joint? I injured my elbow while doing to many heavy macebell swings so I can't do cleans, snatches and overhead presses without pain. I have no pain with swings but I would like to get back to doing cleans at least.
Mark... love the content. was a big free weight person in my youth. noni am focused on endurance and twitch strength. maces, clubs and kettlebells have been great. One issue I have with the clean is that the kettle bell smashed the back of my forearm. thoughts on what I need to do differently?
You can get forearm covers, metal plated
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge 🤠
I snapped up my wrist so bad and so many times 😔. You made this perfectly clear.
Blessing and more blessings to you and your family in Jesus name Amen 🙏❤️🙏🙏
Hi Mark,
Could you explain a bit why the handles have to touch at the top position, i.e. bringing elbows together? When I single arm clean, my elbow is closer to my side against my body, as opposed to in front.
Also, am really keen on the adjustable kettlebells. But shipping alone costs more than the item itself. Any advice?
Thanks Mark!
Add strongman sandbag shouldering to this and your strength will be even greater!
I warmed up with 25 pound kettlebells then did 45 pound
I'm 6ft 5in 180pounds 45 felt great is that too much to start with
I keep looking at the K5/Jimmy whatever it is.
i'm really jealous of that corn.
That some good looking corn 🌽
Other advantage of KB cleans: Something about my body makes barbell cleans (and front squats, etc) painful and miserable on my throat and wrists. KB cleans are no problem.
Godzilla!!!!
Boop for algorithm
What is the puppy's name? I'm guessing ......Roy
If someone is prone to getting tight psoas and QL on one side, would you move to doubles sooner or stick with 1KB and just hope their Adex arrives to train more rotation?
For me it's stretching more, specifically the back and the hams and hips. Strengthen the core with leg raises and laying pull overs. Strengthen the glutes with plenty of swings.
I like to mix up single and double work
@@nirpy yeah I've been doing heaps of couch stretch, sphinx, forwards folds, hip mobility and twists. Plenty of regular swings and single leg RDL and daily walking 10km. I have a computer job and it tends to flare up with long car driving journeys. I just wondered if I'm potentially amplifying an imbalance by using x1KB
I'm guessing … "Dog."
@@hazelmaines2040 I don't see how 1 kettlebell would create an imbalance as long as you are switching hands and working each side equally. If anything, a single KB probably fixes more back issues by strengthening all kinds of internal musculature imbalances by the weight imbalance of a single bell.
Doubles allow you to not side lean cheat the strict presses, and obviously doubles allow heavier swings/cleans/snatches/squats/lunges partly because your obliques are not firing in overdrive to stabilize the weight.
But for example, the offset weight from a single suitcase carry, strengthens the core and obliques and ql and psoas in ways the doubles don't.
I'm not a pro or trainer or PT, just a guy that rehabbed decades of chronic lower back pain by trying many different methods. The stretching, strengthening the posterior and anterior and obliques, being mindful of posture, and club rotation/banded anti-rotation have been my large tickets to escaping pain. Also for me ditching heavy toolbelts. So for you maybe change up your desk chair, maybe try standing, kneeling, squatting, or maybe sit on a medicine yoga ball to change it up. Sitting at a desk is a fundamental posture for many these days, maybe it just needs more movement to be sustainable
I do a little double kettlebell work to try and address the both sides working in tandem issue. I keep it very light and slow though and it’s more like a weighted stretch. I find that helpful for a pelvic tilt. Clean and press mostly.
I find I can squat heavier and deeper with doubles. Double 12 s in rack is manageable whereas a single 24 for a bottoms up front squat is impossible.
, my wrists and forearms will just never be up to that, and you don’t get the same depth or hip movement with a sumo squat. I wouldn’t manage to clean them into position for many repetitions, the drop is where the years of foundational work matters , but I can dead clean them up and down easy enough.
What KB exercises target 100% of forearms?
Farmer's carry, Around the world. But if you want really want to target your forearms more, use heavy clubs is my recommendation.
I like kettlebells because, I am tall 6'4" and I can touch most ceilings with my finger tips. Overhead press w/dumbbells I will hit the ceiling, kettlebells I don't have a problem.
Holy shet, the truck is badass! Is that a Diesel 5k 1985!???
K5 86
Going to put the 6.5 manifold on it in a turbo. Just waiting on parts.
Сооl dog,doggy dog😁👍
Most barbell training is not done for sets of 1 to 5. There's a huge range of higher reps that is much more common. Most is done in sets of 5 to 12 reps.
On a sliding scale, strength lower reps hypertrophy higher reps when using weight. Kettlebells strength endurance.
Not sure you're better off doing anything double kettlebell over barbell.
In my opinion the dead hang barbell clean and press is the most simple basic and effective movement.
Okay, where do they grow corn in California? This video weirds me out. (Cornhusker commenting)
Is it just me or is there not a lot of hip thrust or extension on the upswing? Seems more arms and bell momentum getting to rack position.
I’m coming from a « hardstyle » training style and just getting back into it after a few years away.
I’ve been doing kettlebells for 15… 18 years. I gave up on hard style long ago. Once you build up to 60 min sets for a few years… movement patterns change.
Hard style is great and very beneficial. But it’s not everything.
@@MarkWildman All valid points! I took a few private training sessions with an RKC instructor a few years ago and to some degree followed that technique for years.
Just getting back into kettlebells after a few years away and subscribed to your channel.
Great content. Considering a Bells of steel adjustable kettlebell as well 😎as
I’m in Canada and shipping these things from anywhere else is ridiculously expensive.
God bless!
As a skinny guy trying to do these, I'm finding it hard to manage the pain from the kettlebell hitting my arm at the top of the clean every time
As in Titan/Kettle Kings?😊
🦾
So my issue is. This guy looks ok with a t shirt on. So do I. If I want to look great shirtless shouldnt I follow someone who does? I think kbells are great as part of gpp phases to build good breathing, coordination, power and work capacity but for hypertrophy it seems like no one who trains exclusively kbells is that jacked.
I am the 666th person to 'like' this video!🤣🤣🤣😈😈😈😂😂😂
Farmer's walk implements. Kettlebells are too light to build "monster strength"
Go try to clean and press two 48 kg bells for 5 reps before making asinine comments
@@swoosh2835 I guess "monster strength" is a relative term. He's not talking about pressing either, just cleans. I'm not saying kettlebells aren't good or challenging, just that there are better ways to develop "monster strength".
@@dustinm800No, that’s really NOT what you said. You said kettlebells are too light to build monster strength. So, do go try to clean and press 48kg bells for 5 reps, and then let us know what you think.
