Greetings from Scotland! Diana was 15yo here, yes 15!! You're a very accomplished artist yourself and you understand music and singing. Have you EVER heard anything like Diana's voice? In my 67 years I have never heard anyone who could come close to her vocal ability and her ability to put so much emotion into her performances as Diana, NEVER!
OK, SO this is 15yo Diana singing in an amazing Russian project "You are Super" for abandoned/disadvantaged children because Diana spent some years in an orphanage when she was 3yo. She is a natural dramatic contralto (VERY deep!) which is rare in females but exceptionally rare in someone so young! Diana was born way over in the far eastern side of Russia in Primorsky Territory, northeast of Vladivostok. Her adoptive family moved to Togliatti, in western Russia near the Volga River then after Igor Krutoy (a famous (DIMASH?) composer/producer) gifted Diana an apartment in Moscow she moved there and still lives there! It makes it easier for her to study at GITIS International, the largest and oldest theatrical State Institution in Russia. She has an extensive entry in Wikipedia now which explains her sad early childhood. She is even stronger now, especially her upper register. There are several young female superstars in the world right now, but none of them are better than Diana. This competition is unique in the world, an international TV- competition: 'You are Super', especially for adopted and orphaned children. The musical project “You are super! can give to children who do not have a prosperous childhood, not only positive emotions, but also hope for changes in their fates.
Diana entered the competition in 2018 and 2019 and won twice. 2018 (3rd season) Diana sang 'Derniere danse' (French), 'It's a Man's Man's Man's World' (Engl.), 'The River' (Russ.), 'Tomorrow Is A Lie' (Engl.) and 2019 (super season) Diana won the Grand Prix with 'Blizzard' (Russ.), 'Wicked Game' (Engl.) and 'Human' (Engl.).
The winner of the season will be determined by a 6-day public vote and the final took place in the Kremlin Palace and her videos were uploaded to CZcams and soon she had millions of fans.
The project producers help the finalists start studying and encourage their creativity. Diana won a scholarship to the College of Music. Igor Krutoy, as a juror, gave her a small apartment in Moscow. Elishia, Diana Ankudinova was born on May 31, 2003, which makes her 15 years old at the time of her performance of "Wicked Game" during a vocal competition that Diana took part in called “You Are Super”, which took place on May 12, 2019. During this performance some reactors were saying it sounded like Diana was using Auto-Tune during this performance, or some other kind of electronic vocal Manipulation.
The general consensus of many other reactors that are recording sound engineers, and actual vocal professionals, not just reactors, all say no. NO auto-tune was added or used, nor any other form of electronic voice manipulation. What many may not know is this, Diana Ankudinova has learned, mastered, and uses a vocal technique known as polyphonic singing and a singer that has mastered the polyphonic singing technique can create an additional tone which adds to the harmonic overtones and can makes it sound an octave above and sometimes an octave and ½ above, which can sound like more than one voice singing. This is a testament to the time, talent, and dedication Diana has put into her career at such a young age.
This performance was her second appearance on the “You Are Super”, vocal competition. The 2019 season of the show was called a super-season and consisted mostly of winners and finalists from previous seasons. As the 2018 “You Are Super” winner, Diana Ankudinova was invited back, and also won the 2019 super-season.
As an aside, in 2017 when Diana was 13, Diana’s vocal range was first measured from a low of D3 (lower alto range) to a high of A5 (upper alto range), which was still unusually low for a 13 year old girl. Diana did not have her vocal range measured again until she was 18 years old on September 25, 2021 during her “ShowMaskGoOn!” performance of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” where her vocal range was again measured and Diana’s functional vocal range now goes from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range).
Diana was 14 In 2018, when she first appeared on the “You Are Super” vocal competition and performed a Russian folk song called “Rechenka” in her native Russian language. It was during this 2018 performance of “Rechenka” that many voice professionals started paying very close attention to Diana Ankudinova because she was displaying such a low, round, rich, deep, resonant sound, with a tone and timbre in her voice that was mature, way beyond her years plus she was fearless on stage.
Many true vocal professionals were saying Diana Ankudinova performance of “Rechenka” was displaying all the hallmarks of her becoming a true contralto voice type, plus her musicality and stage presence was well beyond the ability of the vast majority of 14 year old girls. From the beginning of Diana's Rechenka performance, watch her face, and in her body movements as she submerges herself into this character. It was no surprise when Diana was declared the 2018 “You Are Super” winner, but no one was prepared for the following year in 2019 for the sound she exhibited during her performance of Wicked Game that won her the 2019 “You Are Super” competition! The other 2 performances of Diana during the 2019 “You Are Super” super-season are below:

When Dimash is the sun, Diana is the earth.
She's a mezzo-contralto. Pretty rare. And due to her background story she's an old soul. Abused by her alcoholic mother who at least once tried to kill her at the age of three, found injured on the street in winter, she couldn't speak until she was five.
To heal her she got singing lessons and here's the result.
Her former singing teacher who died last year (cancer) was very special, too.
The show is for orphans. Name of show "You are super" is program. She participated two times. That's why she's 14 and 15 in some songs. Now, she's 18 and on her way to become a russian icon (I'm german. Maybe I'm wrong)
Rechenka is a true performance highlight, but before you should react to other songs of her.

You have just listened to what may be a true contralto. “Diana Ankudinova, A Russian National Treasure” (My opinion), I have been following her for awhile. She is another very interesting story that you will discover. Wait until you hear “Take On Me” or "Human" or "Rechenka" Even though it is in Russian you still feel the emotion behind it. I've heard her sing in Russian, English, French, German, Arabic and Spanish so far. No matter what language it is beautiful.

When you hear Diana for the first time, you may experience some disorientation, like I did, where you can't really trust your ears. Some never get over it. I just accepted it as a new and different way to sing. It almost feels like she is channeling a power outside herself. It feels very primal. I find myself mesmerized at every performance.
