💬Keep in mind, there are two videos that the reactors watched for this live performance. The original and the re-edited/re-mastered version, so you may see different camera angles in the multi edits section.
In my opinion, it is one of the most powerful pieces of music on the planet. My favorite part of this particular performance might have to be at 5:42 when she goes into that melancholy call and response-like section. She does it again at the end and both times I feel such a heavy weight of conflict and sadness for some reason. The fact that it affects me in this way every time I hear it is the reason it’s my favorite.
I’ve been waiting to do this one since the beginning of this journey. I put it off because I knew it was going to be very difficult, especially breaking the song down into sections. I am pretty happy with the end result and I hope you all enjoy it! 💜
EDIT: Don't worry... I plan on doing the studio version of the song too. I do prefer it to the live version as I do most songs... but this live version is probably my favorite of all of the live versions.
Your love of good music shows in your fantastic compilation videos. THANK YOU!!!! ❤❤❤
It was the 1st song to bring tears to my eyes and more than once, in the 1990s when i discovered it.
You have MAD editing skills! Kudos to you WonderMommaOG!
I agree that this is one of the most powerful music score ever witnessed. I'm 63 and it still brings a tear to my eye.
I own the dvd of this concert. The thing that I really like about the time section that you tagged is when David turns the volume down on his pedal steel & turns to watch her finish out her vocals with true appreciation.
It's always amazed me why anyone would ever react for the first time to a song from a live version. Doesn't even feature the original singer.
Beautiful. I'm 53 and trust me when I tell you I grew up on Pink Floyd. Dont call me a Floydian without calling me a Floydian
All these young people enjoying this music for the first time seem to be so moved, but adding about 40 years of nostalgia into the experience makes it so much more incredible.
Sometimes you don't need lyrics to enjoy a song. It is awesome to see the younger generation enjoying a classic.
Taking nothing away from this live performmance, but the original studio version is gold
The original is better in my opinion. But both are gold.
agreed
Yes, and also I prefer the Delicate Sound of Thunder live performance over Pulse!❤️🎼
I was gonna say the samething. That version was done by one voice The Great Clair Torry
I agree. I can’t erase over forty years of hearing Clare Torry’s voice
Sam Brown is just amazing, her voice is like a Goddess singing for only one person.
the blonde vocalist is Sam(antha) Brown and she is terrific........all the vocalists were free to interpret the stages of grief in their own way..........soul-piercing
One video, but two masterpieces. Thanks WonderMommaOG.
1st masterpiece: The Great Gig in the Sky orchestrated by none other than Pink Floyd.
2nd masterpiece: This Compilation of reactions orchestrated by none other than WonderMommaOG.
Your compilation editing talent is comparable to Pink Floyd's talent on stage. You are truly unique.
I’ve said this on many reaction channels about Pink Floyd, they are not a band or genre, they are an experience. This song is a perfect example.
That voice..... Clare Torry is just next level. Amazingly beautiful song. Dark Side of the moon is the greatest album ever made. Awesome choice Momma. This is such a great version of an all time classic
You realize that was not Clare singing in this version. She did the original version for DSOTM. Which she was totally awesome
It's not Clare Torry
Rendered speechless
I bought "Dark Side of The Moon" like in 1975 or so. I don't recall exactly but me and my best friend at the time were pumped! Went to my sister's apartment while she was at work to use her record player and to be able to smoke a doobie while we slit the cellophane off and experience Pink Floyd! Man..talk about not being able to appreciate what we had at the time. I appreciate much mor deeply now than I did then. Don't get it wrong. It's just that as an adult, you can appreciate with experience what is such an incredible performance. Back then the guitars and stuff was our focus where now it is art and this is art at its best!!!
Momma delivers the goods. Again.
As someone who spent 12 years in video editing in TV news, I can not imagine the amount of time and work you spent compiling all the reaction videos into one video, including keeping the audio track sounding seamless and keeping the video and audio in sync. A huge thumbs up👍👍 to you for the excellent job well done. Watching and listening to Sam Brown (I assume 'Sam' is short for Samantha) brings me to tears every time I watch her, and I have the DVD of the concert.
Thank you so much. If you go to the end of the video, I always include a "the making of" portion that shows the work. 😅 Appreciate the compliment!
@@WonderMommaOGYes, I saw the 'making of' video. How much time did you have to invest in making the video?
@@dogbarbill They vary, but it averages 30-40 hours, give or take.
I first heard Pink Floyd in '74' when I was up at Humboldt State Univ. Dark Side of the Moon was and still is amazing. I was lucky enough to see them live in '1994' at the Oakland Coliseum. The music was mesmerizing, and the laser light show was unbelievable. They shot the lasers at this 8' spinning Disco Ball and the entire stadium looked like a flowing liquid plasma. Shedmen
Sam Brown (the blonde singer) was performing in Blackpool, UK with The Jools Holland Orchestra. My mate got us tickets. We went to the gig and I was yards away from her! Man she could sing. Stage presence. ..
One of the greatests, if not, the best damn song in the history of rock, bar none. I have been listening to Pink Floyd for the 21 years. This song is so emotionally draining yet beautiful at the same time. I am so happy that young people today are able to experience this song, well over close to 43 years after its release. Thanks Momma for this. Peace and love.
Been listening to this album since the vinyl was cut. Never gets old. These singers give me chills.
Another absolute Momma Masterpiece
💜
Fantastic again WM, much kudos. Clare Torry's original rendition is one of the greatest female vocal performances of all time, shows how good it is that Floyd used three to try and replicate it. Sam Brown's raucous scream is a spine tingling moment too.
Check out Eva Avila covering this. She performs it with Brit Floyd and does the whole song herself. Best rendition other than the original I've ever heard.
@@brettkenschaft4239 Great call Brett, seen Brit Floyd and she does indeed nail it. There's a US based band called Which One's Pink that I saw in 2000 and their version featured a tall African American lady who absolutely blew us away, she got a five minute standing ovation from everyone in Scruffy O'Shea's in Marina del Rey. There is a UK tribute called Pinked Floyd and she hits every note too, stunning.
@@ArtieFufkinPolymerRecords Thanks!! I will check those out!
Pink Floyd comes at you in so many different ways and styles that’s why you hey are timeless and unique band this one proves that 🤘🎤🎤🎤🎹🎹🎹🥁🎸🎸🔉🔊🔉🔊🔉🔊💯✅🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great interlude on one of the greatest concept album to EVER exist! More Pink Floyd!
Claire Torre laid down the vocals on the original for this song in one take. She thought that she had gone way too fast & wanted to do another take. David, Richard, Nick, & Roger were immediately enamored with & emotionally moved by her vocals & told her that it was absolutely perfect. Truly a case of a vocal track laid down in one take with the simple direction of " think about great loss in your life, loss of a loved one & the emotion that it brings."
Actually 3 takes and then said she was done and left the studio. The final mix is a compilation of her 3 takes.
Goosebumps acquired. Love this so much. Thank you.
This has got to be one of the most beautiful, powerful, spirit lifting songs I've ever heard. For me. Stunning vocals on both this and it's original. To take us thru the emotions of the stages of death without a word. Brilliantly done. Thanx so so much, take care, Peace
So beautiful
It amazes me that I still know every syllable
Been a fan most of my life, but freshman year in h.s, I became obsessed 💜
These ladies killed it!
The hard work and dedication, you got it mama🙏🏽🙏🏽🫵‼️‼️
Headphones on to listen this one. Remember that when Clare Torry originally 'sang' this, she nailed it on the first take. They recorded it a few more times, but the first was the best.
I’m glad you said this. I create all of these wearing a set of headphones. They don’t sound the same coming out of a device or TV.
@WonderMommaOG My PC speakers are fine most of the time, but for music I switch on my Klim headphones. It's the only way to properly hear music.
And remember, Clare Torry never knew the boys, arrived at the studio, and just improvised. Even the boys didn’t know what they wanted at the time. Absolute classic.
Amazing that no matter how many times I see reactions to Pink Floyd and especially the PULSE concert - everyone has that look of bliss and are deeply affected!
When the music is good,,,,,people hear,,,,and FEEL it. Another great compilation vid. 💥💥💥👍👍👍
Wondermomma 💜💜😊 yes!!!
one of the best screams in rock! 😋
love my WonderMomma!
Bold choice. I'm told Ms Torry's vocal performance represents the five stages of grief. Fifty years of this record and that's absolutely the case. Anything more would be inappropriate. Thanks, #Momma.
What an absolutely beautiful piece of music from Rick on the piano! Been listening to Floyd since the mid 70’s. This track always brings a tear to my eye😢 Thank you so much WonderMomma for another awesome compilation🔥❤
I absolutely love people reacting to their Pink Floyd experience ❤. Fabulous stuff. You are on a roll! Thanks!
Beautiful.
Your work is truly appreciated. and thanks for doing another PF song.
Great job on this one of the best songs ever and watching these reactions is fantastic!
Amazing job with the editing. The song “speaks” for itself. It is an emotional journey as it is hard to call it a song. PF is my GOAT
The Delicate Sound of Thunder version is beyond amazing
Great work momma ! I love this whole album but this is my fave. So glad u did this.
Happy Valentines sweetheart 💓
Lots of love ❤️
Erinna_The_White_Rose
You are on fire!
Good grief, Sam Brown really leaves it all out there on this one. She's skating right on the edge of control at some points. Just breathtaking!
Forget trying to put this in any genre of music, this is one of the best songs ever recorded, period. W/all the tech & filters of today & no1 can make this kinda music today .
Hey!!! Momma
Fantastic job. Such a beautiful choice
Beauty momma ❤ xx
@WonderMommaOG From another OG, seeing Floyd blow their young minds away yet again is beautiful. I love hearing their responses as it takes me back to 13 years old hearing this for the first time through my Marantz system on vinyl for the first time. 40 years later it still gives me shivers. ❤
Got to love the way Claudia backs off the microphone at the end with a little smile. Yeah resignation and acceptance nailed those then.
RIP Claudia :(
This is one of those songs that gets me emotional every single time I hear it. Lots of people here complaining about doing the live version instead of the studio version. Yes Clare's original is the standard and the best, but this one is very good, too. For yet another one check out Eva Avila covering this song with Brit Floyd. She does the whole thing herself and I think it's the best rendition other than the original.
Great job making this video. This takes talent too!
I love that the ‘making of …’ is to the original album track Clare Tovey!❤
You got it! This is a VERY good compilation in that you get the live first and you absolutely MUST stay through the "making of" to hear the original studio version. Wondermama, you presented this song experience perfectly, you crafty little devil!
Can't wait to see what you create next. Unbelievable skill, talent and taste. Just amazing.
@@patdoyle7482 Thank you very much.
Torrey not Tovey
This song makes me cry every single time, when you get the message
Most impressive is how you sync all of this; artistry of its own. Thank you for this compilation to such a beautiful song (and I'll be looking for your treatment of reactions to the studio version)!
I taught a contemporary issues of health course at a university. We had a unit on death and dying. First day of this unit I walked in didn’t say a word and played this video. Every student including several male collegiate athletes cried. We could have spent several classes
Lecturing about dealing with dying and bereavement but this song opened up a
conversation we would never had based on the textbook.
I LOVE THIS. That's amazing and should happen more often. Thanks for sharing that.
I just wanted to let you know that I appreciate the editing and all the hard work and effort it takes to put something like this together, that people take for granted… You did an amazing job on the video…. This is my favorite band saw them 3 times including the WALL concert… this song will be played in my funeral…. I will let everyone comment on the song and I just wanted to let you know that there are people out there that can see the work and time you put in to it . Great job!
Well done again Momma. Your reaction mashups/compilations and you with them are in a league of your own, far and away above, miles above, an entire universe beyond any and all others. I also enjoy the making of sections that show the hard work and care you out into each of them. I don't give out likes and subs like candy on Halloween but you certainly earned mine. Keep up the fantastic work! God bless and keep you my sister. Much love and respect and success, from deep in the ❤ of Texas. Peace
Are you kidding me??? You did it again Wondermomma! This is my second favorite PF song!!! I am so glad you did this song! Every time I hear it I get emotional...it is often my go-to song when I need to express pain...the "Great Gig in the Sky" PF said they wanted it so you could FEEL the mourning... they wanted someone with power. So they called up Clare Torry and had her listen to the musical part of it ONCE and said "All right, we want you to think of despair, dreadfulness, no hope... death.. and we want you to explain it with your voice"... and did she! The story goes that she was actually embarrassed but PF was stunned... she was amazing and it goes right through the heart...Now I know this was the live version which is great as well but oh...I get goosebumps every time I hear this song...the power of music is amazing...as I often say sometimes I need the lyrics and sometimes I need the instrumentation... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for doing this epic and amazing song...this song is a big part of me...
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Guess what video I'm working on now? 😅 The studio version. lol
Oh THANK YOU! ❤❤❤ it is and always has been one of the most hauntingly beautiful songs ever composed!
Great editing done to a great song thank you for putting it together
Ce morceau est une pure merveille ...un diamant musical !!!
Good one Momma
Another job well done.
all reactions are "the best ever" but this one is good
What a great concept! Mashing up all of the reactions to the same song. Genius!
I had the privilege about 30+ yrs ago to see Pink Floyd with Roger and David before the had issues. Out of all the concert's I have seen, not 1 came close to them. Lets just say, we drove to the show in a car we left on a cloud of euphoria and Unicorn tears!🎼🌹💖
WonderMomma !!! You do the best compilations of the best music, thanks chuck.
Finally the live version uploaded from the Pulse concert ! I have this on bluray from many years ago
A beautiful tribute to Pink Floyd's Song birds!
As the collage of souls reacting to it.
Respect to the hard work done to make this.
Just goes to show that music crosses language barriers and reaches souls.
Thank you.
Gen X here just enjoying the younger generation discovering the genius of Pink Floyd
This song is a masterpiece and you have done well in capturing the reactions to this version. This song goes straight to your heart and becomes instantly unforgettable.
One of the greatest pieces of music ever created….. period!
You haven’t really lived until you’ve listened to this!
On the album, there’s a line further along in the song. Put on some headphones, close your eyes and listen.
best concert ever! was there live at Werchter in Belgium.
I'm 60 yo, grew up on pink Floyd and I'm crying sharing in other's discovery
The reaction video from The Charismatic Voice is really good! I like her because she is such an academic music nerd, but I was pretty sure she was going to cry at a few points in her video. It is linked in the info here, but here is the link again if anyone is interested -
czcams.com/video/lRYAewlmxvg/video.htmlsi=n-KMccY9G8w_DIE1
An album doesn't stay on the billboard top 100 for 10 years for no reason.
Pink Floyd shows are more than that, they are an experience! 🙌🏻 Good job again, Momma! 👏🏻
Incredible
I must admit WonderMomma I've never been a big Pink Floyd fan. But there's certainly plenty of people that love them. They're certainly going to get reactions too.
I’d have to say that I’ve listened to Dark Side Of The Moon more than any other album in my 61yrs. It holds the most meaning for me. It has been my “therapy” and comfort, as familiar as an old friend. Without getting into details, I’ll just say that this song, in particular, is very special to me. (Edit: Clare Torres studio version) If anyone was to ask me what grief feels like, I would tell them to listen to this track. I know many of you will relate. Great job WMOG. I know you said this was gonna be a tough one. Much ❤ to you and all on Valentine’s Day!
Wonderful work putting together all these reaction videos. Its like a visit with old friends.I don't know if you welcome requests but I know Road of Resistance by Babymetal had some pretty wild reaction moments.
Love what you do, you are gifted.
Thank you. Very much enjoyed listening to the original recording during the 'Making Of'.
Regards. 👍
I have a memory... that no one else seems to share. When I was little, and this song was fairly new... I swear I remember a commercial with this song. It was a lady with long, blonde hair, walking in a field of wheat.
Between pink floyd, and Australian Pink Floyd, I have seen this, live about a dozen times. One lady, in Aussie Floyd sang the whole song, herself... and she damn-near nailed it! I agree with the fans saying the original is... "gospel."
WM you've done it again ❤ think this is my new favorite! Thanks 💯👍👏👏👏😊🫶
Rage, sorrow then acceptance ❤
Excellent.
Just purely brilliant. Wonderful.
Another work of art.. by WonderMom..
Clare Torry the original vocalist when this track was first recorded was called in by the band for this one track. She wasn't given any instructions of what to do but to just vocalise over the music. Her first attempt didn't fit but her second attempt was what was recorded on the album! Not bad for a tiny white English lady!!
Sir DAVID GILMOR has a Tendency to lift your soul- have his slide guitar 🎸
Speak 🗣 to you- bless your socks 🧦 off.
The emotions brought out of the listener is
Soulfully uplifting.
It's a pedal steel guitar not a slide
Si esta música no te Transporta no sientes lo que transmite, es impresionante como te lleva al espacio o al infinito, te escapas de la realidad, maravilloso. 🇨🇱
When a voice is pure magic and used as an instrument. Not like today💕💕
My funeral tune.
And I am not scared.
Why should I be.❤
I remember getting this on DVD from eBay sort of the black market before Blu-ray came out 30th anniversary from 1994 Royal Albert Hall
greatest solo vocal ever
How can a song about dying can make you feel so alive
Clare Torry I think was the original performer and she performed this all alone and it’s great. This version with the other two ladies gave it a little more variation and is just as good.
RIP Claudia Fountaine ( the third vocalist in the live performance)
And that is how it is done.
Listen to the album version, if you felt something here then you'll definitely experience that
