Can your burner wallet be the same brand? Like a second Tangem? Essentially it’s a go-between for when you want to purchase something with your crypto? So what I’m gathering and I want to get clear is that if I’m purchasing crypto or tokens on an exchange it’s safe to transfer to my main wallet and keep it there. But if I wanna take Tokens from that and put it in my burner wallet that burner wallet is the one I use to transact for goods and services? Sorry I’m new-ish

Trezor has a BUY feature where you can purchase crypto and have it sent straight to the cold wallet. Is this more advisable over buying on centralized exchanges and then sending to the cold wallet?

    • @cyberscrilla

Choose the specific tokens you want to transfer to your cold wallet.
Step 3: Initiate a Withdrawal or Swap:
Find the option to withdraw or send your tokens.
      Step 4: Enter Wallet Address:
Enter the wallet address of your cold wallet where you want to send the tokens. Double-check check the address is accurate to avoid losing your crypto.
      Step 5: Confirm Transaction:
Review the transaction details, including fees.
Confirm the transaction and follow any additional authentication steps required by your wallet.
      Step 6: Wait for Confirmation:

I don't like Ledger neither. i'm switching to Trezor
They are a big disappointment. I've bought a Nano S 3.5 years ago, just to get all of my personal data leaked(with half a million other users' in 2021) and targeted by many scammers with thousands of scam emails and so on and they never even compensate us for this security incident.
Not to mention the current fishy things like ex- Ledger-members leaking things and just the fact that your seed can be restored by the government(aka they can freeze them aswell without any reason, then what's the point of freedom of crypto?)
Imagine being a crypto holder while your personal data(name, telephone number, ADDRESS, email) is being leaked to the dark web.
And i guess it's not the last incident, they are very fishy.

My question is that the hardware wallet manufacturers still have your private keys even though you have the seed phrase. So in an event of an EMP attack or an economic collapse, whats to stop them or the governmentor the issuerof the token from clawing back those same tokens? So doesnt that make software wallets the safest, because you and only you have the private keys? We are pretty close to that happening it would seem.

    • @cyberscrilla
      @cyberscrilla  Před dnem

This is not true. Hardware wallet manufacturers do NOT have your private keys. You generate a completely random key and seed phrase pair when you setup a wallet. This key is kept offline in the device.
The exception is if you sign up for Ledger Recover. Then you are voluntarily sending shares of your private key to three separate companies.
To answer your question: No, hot wallets are not safest. Cold wallets are.
