Unplugging the button never gave me a error. Sometimes I drive the car for weeks at a time with it unplugged while working on the car. Never got any kind of error.
No problems with the push to start so far. Its been working as it should. I did ended up going back and wire in a relay for the key in/out. I posted a video of that also.
@@u.duanespence2768 Its an Easyguard ec002. Amazon has them. They come with different remote styles so pick one that you like. Easyguard ec003 will work also and is cheaper if you want to save some $$.
When I added my push button start with passive keyless entry it constantly drained my battery. Any ideas on why that was happening. I had to put mine back to stock.
Sorry, but I don't have a definitive answer for you. I've had mine installed for a little under 3 years and haven't had any battery drainage issues. I do drive it every day. I do also park it for a week at times with no issue.
I think that particular model is no longer for sale. Here's another that is similar if not identical. Been about 4 months without any problems. Also have the same kit on an FJ Cruiser for over a year without problem. The start button itself is also sold separately if one ever does go bad. Or if you prefer one of the different styles that they have.
