In the footwell, when you take the floormat out, there is a pigtail provided by GM that you can connect to to get accessory, ground or 12v. I think the Metra adapter is better, but for those who want to know where there's accessory there's a hidden pigtail next to the BCM module tucked inside that compartment.

Well crap! I saw a yellow C6 widebody car in the thumbnail which is what I have and was hoping you were doing a C6 so I could learn something! I've watched about 8-10 of your diaries so far and love the content. Thanks!

Clean installs like that make me want to do one to my Vette. I am not that into over the top or even high end installs, but I absolutely love to watch these clean install videos. This channel is not only informative and entertaining, it’s also inspirational.
Such a good job, good video.

Some times watching a video like this is worth it as you can discover things that you may have never noticed while cobbling together your own stereo improvement project on the C5.
I'm referring to the midrange in the doors being blocked by the door panel, as those frequencies are quite directional, unlike the 8" Bose woofer that needs not the clear opening it possesses, being omnidirectional.
Gotta wonder who the engineers are who designed such a setup, or their corporate masters who green lighted such a deficient implementation.
In my setup, I retained the Bose subs because they are really quite proficient at providing the low end up front which is usually relegated to the rear of the car because of it's omnidirectional nature. I added better quality coaxials in place of the midranges, but I never noticed how they were being cancelled by the door panel. So I will be fabricating a mounting board to locate the coaxial similar to how you mounted the tweeters, making them sit marginally over top of the Bose woofer enclosure by moving them up & forward.
I retained the factory Bose system which is really not bad if you upgrade the mid & high frequency drivers, front & rear. I did put in a 10" JL Audio sub in the rear wedge section and a nice 2 ohm amp under the passenger seat with cooling fans added, since this is not an ideal location for an amp to vent it's heat. Works great btw, with the cooling fans it never overheats and is outta sight.
No one can tell it's anything other than the factory system except it sound much better.
Now that you have pointed out the fly in the ointment as to my install, I'm sure it will sound so much better by letting the coaxial see the audience.
Thanks for posting this, it will make at least on persons install even better. ; )

Awesome video it showed a way on how I can fix my cross over location. I have them in a bad spot. Just lucky the Camaro isn't on the road yet so no harm done.

I don't blame the owner changing his mind for the amp board location. I would definitely want to show off your work :) greeting from 2300km north of you guys.

I hope everyone appreciates the attention to detail shown herein. Kudos to y'all ! I'm curious about the final gain setting and audible tuning though. It seems you relied on the amps to gain balance the clipping or distortion levels from each amp. But is this the right way to go when the speakers will distort at different levels? Or maybe it was just a good starting point? When adjusting EQ for the speakers, how much do you factor in the person's preferences or do you just set it best at flat EQ and let the owner screw it up from there?
