That was the second best Ice Dancing routine I have ever seen (the best being Torvil and Dean in Sarajevo in 1984, of course) ever!

This wasn't the original song that they danced to during the games. I think they censor it cos their original used a Martin Luther speech voiceover

I hope it's not rude, i'll point out that i'm only asking it out of sheer ignorance and curiosity.
Quite late but until 2004 or 2005 the ladies couldn't wear pants because of ISU rules. It changed and in 2006 you can see e.g. Irina Slutskaya, bronze medalist, who wore pants in her SP. IIRC ladies in ice dance still cannot wear pants unless the permission is given when ISU chooses specific theme for the next season, though i'm not 100% sure.

I did not like that other music was super IMPOSED on the performance. The choice of music can dramatically portray the theme. Dud choice of music!
I am kind of surprised they won as they didn't take any risks at all. Still, wonderful to watch

+Karine Barry yes they did, i am not french, american or russian, this is the only couple choreography i still remember because it was so different, incredibly artistic and i do think it was very difficult also, for me they were the best of their era even with the Italians been good as well, but i still preferred marina and gwendal as they were more original

Yup. The judging scandal concerned both ice dance and pairs.
However at the end Russian judge did put Russian team in the 1st place and not them (how it was supposingly agreed upon).....

Anissina the Russian that got the french judge tied up in all the vote trading... the Russian were to ensure the French won the ice dancing ... and the French were to ensure the Russian won the pairs.....sickening !
And in the end Russian judge did put Russian team on the 1st place (and not French).

Tbh in this olympic all the ice dance teams wore bright ott outfits early 2000 what do you expect lol. In their case they dressed in gold to win the gold so it goes with their theme imo.
