- That's My Boy is a British sitcom starring Mollie Sugden on ITV from October 1981 to April 1986.
Housekeeper Ida Willis is the terror of the domestic employment agency and her clients alike. She is sent to go to work for Dr. Robert Price and his wife Angie. Ida tells Angie about her son Shane who she gave up for adoption as a newborn baby. When they swap photos of Robert as a baby and her Shane as a baby, they discover that they are one in the same! Robert tells Angie to fire Ida, until he finds out who she really is.

I remember seeing this series, (probably the second or third one), in early 1983. Friday nights was only time of the week when I got to have the portable TV in our bedroom, (I had to share with my brother), to myself, as he went out for the evening. It was on at around 8 or 8.30pm, after The Fall Guy, and I'd then switch over to watch Cheers! on Channel 4. Something I did for a good few months. Amazing how you remember things like that.

she sure played an old bat in this one. the trouble is, she reminds me so much of women I know around here. my dad once asked me if I knew why there were so many old widows around but not as many old widowers. he said the old women were so mean their husbands finally died to get away from them. I believe him.
Classic molly sugden brilliant
That's one of my favorite comedy series. Molly Sugden played a lovely mother to her son and daughter-in-law.
Makes" Three Up. Two Down" look like a classic .
That’s my boy what a funny classic I watch it on the tv sometimes funny as out even one actors out of Are You Being Served is funny is too.

She was definitely the best and funniest actor in Are You Being Served? So I had high hopes for this but it was a bit weak in itself though thats not Mollie's fault as she can only work with what shes been given. They do say you should give any new show two or three eps before you form an opinion though so I hope the second gets funnier.

Well, that was dreadfull.
Main character is bombastic , unfunny, and unlikable
The husband and the wife cant act.
To be fair, they very much soften Ida’s character as time goes on. I tend to agree that she’s too harsh here. There is a noticeable difference in her character from Series 2 onwards (and she even softens as series 1 goes along).
I'm glad some of this show is on here, its the one major comedy that Mollie Sugden did that I've never seen. She did this at the same time as Are You Being Served? and in 1978 she also did the short-lived Come Back Mrs. Noah, which some consider to be one of the worst Britcoms ever. Well, I saw it (it's also on here) and I have to disagree with that. It is NOT as bad as the critics said it was and it's nowhere near one of the worst ever Britcoms. Anyway, now I can finally watch this one!
It's a shame that into two more seasons I don't know why not they just stopped all of a sudden Five Seasons wasn't enough two more seasons would have been better it was a cute show I found this add a thrift store so I bought this DVD set it's a shame that it started and ended the way it did too bad
