- A video review of the Nokia E7 Symbian ^3 smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard. The Nokia E7 has a 4" 640 x 360 AMOLED display, and runs on ARM11 680MHz CPU with 256MB RAM and 350MB internal storage as well as 16GB mass storage. The Nokia is a pentaband world 3G HSDPA phone with unlocked GSM. It comes with Ovi Maps 3.0, Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11n and supports MS exchange Active Sync and works with Google services as well. The phone has a 1200mAh battery that has claimed talk time of 5 hours.
I wish there was a modern phone with this design. Love the pop-out keyboard. They where so great.

I had one of these back in the days. The only downside is Symbian. It kept freezing and crashing so I had to let it go. Sad that I sold it. It's definitely a great piece of hardware. Even if it was a brick it still impresses with the hardware.

@@Shelbyyy999 still works but is so slower, i have a collection of old phones and the e7 is so beautiful, but not very useful.
@kentoruo If your talking about the delay for the swipes of the home screen, that is the way it is. It's set to move after your finger is taken off the screen, not to move with your finger.
This is still my greatest “what if”. I was torn between E7 and N8 but I got the N8 for its autofocus and Xenon flash

@Boxytheboxed Wrong. It's ruined by a lack of microSD expansion, a small battery, and that camera.

Sure, I like mine still.
I suspect a lot of people just follow the herd in damning Symbian without ever having gone into a shop to actually pick up the thing and play with it. As for this phone, the new Symbian Anna update will also greatly improve on what is already a fantastic device.

@clairey1995 Symbian^3 - which is on this device - is renewed, and BIG improvement over the earlier versions. Symbian^3 is not that bad, and it's not even slow. Nokia's phones, which basically run Symbian, have most likely the best call quality. People really shouldn't jugdge Symbian before testing the newest version.
Good Review. I did notice some frustration with the browser and you tube app. This phone has more innovation then any phone on the market now. People can rave about 4g but don't have a world phone in their pocket that guarantee's you 3G in anywhere in the world. Android would have been horrible and lame on this phone and a assure battery killer. They should have put Maemo 5 on this device. A real Linux device like the N900.

where did you get that shift's faster? our e7 in russia is much faster than any androphone, speacking about the UI.
and multitasking IS DAMN GOOD with n8 and e7

this phone looks pretty nice and I'm looking for another phone with keyboard. I was wondering if I can use this phone in Canada and use it with Virgin Mobile or Fido?

Symbian is dated, no doubt about that, but it's decent. It's clunky and not very sexy, and I hope that Symbian Anna (and then Belle) polish it up nicely. Simple touches are needed like a colour-gradient on the Options softkeys, just the done thing in 2011. It looks like something from 2007. They should update the system font too to Nokia Pure. But it runs just fine, like a Honda. It'll get you to work and back, but it won't win any drag races! The hardware is simply gorgeous.
why nokia not re-release this to new version like "nokia E7 2014/2015 edition" with 12 mp camera, and card slot?

I already have this phone and it is good, the browser is not fast, youtube app is not amazing, skype doesnt work under 3G or wifi, camera is not bad, but I prefer the Nokia N97 camera it has autofocus on the N97, this one doesnt have it. The desing is much better than other phones. Sound is amazing but again not too many apps. Rating 4 of 5 stars,

Great phone, but I'm concerned since the Symbian OS is nearly obsolete now, with little to no support. Would this phone work today (July, 2016). I just need a phone for calls, texts, camera & MP3 player. I don't need web browsing, GPS, or any of the other functions. I'm on AT&T, and located the northeast, USA. Please advise.
Old comment but still worth mentioning: Nokia Maps works even when offline, it has true GPS. And totally usable for eveything you described.
can you update the review with Anna or Belle OS later???

Symbian not that bad its ok if you ever use it u would like it and Nokia coming out with there swipe OS are mingo are something like that and so far it look great and maybe it can get an upgrade to the new OS ill buy it just because its a 4inch screen and a keyboard the phone to me I love the OS I'm not to much into but I think it would b my next phone in tho I have the mytouch 4G I hope its get the upgrade :)

I think it's very expensive for what it is. It's beautifully made ok, but there's not enough in the software front.
Man, I can't wait until Nokia starts putting out Windows Phones. So much better.

Symbian ^3 isn't that horrible to me ... just a decent browser and i might consider it over an android...well. with faster CPU tho

a great piece of hardware but lacking of software.. i wonder why nokia just didnt do the research more on their Symbian and make it more up to date like we used to get android or iOs.. if they could.. they might be the third biggest manufacture in the world against samsung and apple.
