It’s great to see two friends just chilling and having fun together💕😂
Thank you, I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun filming a video before! Can’t wait to film some more next time I see her🤩
Wow, im learning Swedish and this video really helped me with pronunciation, keep up the good work 😁
Thank you so much Charlie, I’m happy this was helpful for you🤗
Agreed I’m also learning Swedish because I have an aunt that lives in Sweden
JAG KAN SVENSKA do You know how to say it?
Your American friend did well. Impressive! Funny, the word “sju” is quite hard for foreigners I’ve noticed among friends of mine.
Yes I agree, she's very good with languages and I'm really impressed by her! Hahaha yeah isn't it funny how a simple little world like "sju" could be so hard for people😂
I could say "sju" the first time I tried but 25 years later I still don't roll my R's all the time.
@@judyogriobhan5762 😀
I'm pretty sure Americans have trouble producing the "R" is words like "Ronja Rövardotter"
People who can speak Spanish can pronounce it :D
EMcC Zgz Spanish perplex be like Rrrrrooorrrrnnnjaaaaa Rrrrööörrvvvarrrrrdotter
Is it just me or is she crazy good at it. Like it all sounds kinda spot on.
Adam Al-Husseiny yeah same
She is doing a great job isn’t she, I was super impressed when we did the video🤩👏
She's a real talent, if this is her first time. She'd learn way faster than most.
Metallicaaaaa
Some people change their tone of voice when speaking another language, I know I do it when speaking Danish or when speaking English as opposed to when I'm speaking Swedish.
(yes, I'm aware the original post was in Swedish, I'm trying to be inclusive))
You need more subs omg love from sweden!❤️🇸🇪🇸🇪
Tack så mycket! Vad glad jag blir🤗💕
Hej jag vil prata svenska!! Nu venta nej ja ja!
@@małgorzatatajs3539 va..
@@małgorzatatajs3539 😂😂😂 bra
12:28 "orka" is somewhat equivalent to "cope", as in I can't cope with that right now
Järnspikar is very dated/vintage, it's like saying "dang nabit" or "holy ceasars ghost" in English
I'd say it's more like "exhausted", like... If you've been at work for 8hrs and done a lot of stuff, then you get home and someone asks you to do the dishes, then you say "jag orkar inte" which in the best way imo would be translated to "I can't, I'm exhausted" in English
I would say its more of a way to describe ones ability to perform in any situation. If you do "orkar" then you can perform, and if you dont you can't. And most often its used to describe your energy level. So if I dont "orkar" to clean, everybody will know i mean I lack the energy to do so. And its somewhat over used, since we Swedes are iften really bad at saying that we dont wan't to do stuff sometimes, and then we often tend to say we dont "orkar", when we really just dont feel like it. My kids often use "orka" as something positiv, like "I have the muscles to lift this heavy thing" by saying "I "orkar" lift this" and then its used as a way to describe there abilty to perform in a positive way.
She's actually good. Much better than some other us-americans.
She’s really good isn’t she🤩👏
I remember when I was learning Swedish the first time. That number 7 is so hard.. sju.. 🤣😅🤣
I moved to live in Sweden last year, currently going in 9th grade. I have this struggle every day but it’s fun to learn it with friends( curse words)
I have an American friend and he has learnt Swedish for a very short time. One of the only things he knows to say in Swedish is ”You are a coconut"
That’s the most important thing to know in Swedish, so useful!!😂🙌👌
Stick away from commenting this videosnutt in full fart! 😉
No, I don't want you to go away, I just want to write some really bad Swenglish! 😄

Love this video, made me laugh.
Love Swedish and I struggle just the same
I’m glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
I'm Polish and I speak English and German. I'm learning Russian and Danish, so... I have to say Danish is kinda like Swedish, but at the same time it's totally not like Swedish XDD That's what I always say, cuz some people would say "Danish is similar to Swedish" and other people would say "Are u kidding?! It's totally not!" and I don't know if it is or not XD
I would say something like 50-75% of the words is identical but pronounced differently in Swedish, Danish and Norweigan, some of the other words exist but are outdated between the languages and maybe 10% is unique for each language.
Norweigan and Danish is very similar when written, but Swedish and Norweigan is pronounced more similar when spoken.
It's pretty fun to see someone who don't understand any of the languages listen to a discussion where Swedes, Danes and Norweigans speak to each other, they can hear the distinction between the languages, and think it's weird that we still understand each other. 😊
I can understand the American girl feelings. I have went through this..🤣🤣🤣
It’s not easy to learn new languages isn’t it😅
Nice video! My brother studied languages at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in California. The pace of study was intense. Students had to master the language course in 36-64 weeks. Psychologically it was very difficult, but fortunately he was helped by Yuriy Ivantsiv's book "Polyglot Notes. Practical tips for learning foreign languages”. The book " Polyglot Notes" became a desk book for my brother, because it has answers to all the problems that any student of a foreign language has to face. Thanks to the author of the channel for this interesting video! Good luck to everyone who studies a foreign language and wants to realize their full potential!

Thank you!! Alyssa was doing such a great job, I was so impressed!🤩
She is good at Swedish ❤
Yeah she is isn’t she😍👏
That’s so amazing you should teach me too 😆
Honestly i thought the blonde was swedish for sure, until she had to say seven in swedish (sju), but Jesus she's so damn good in pronouncing swedish words
De var fan lite kul 😁
Kul att höra att du gillade videon!!
I like the sound of this words in Swedish TVA, FYRA and NYO has pretty sounds.
Jag älskar svenska I used to live in Sweden so 🇸🇪🥺
It was ok in Sweden, it sounds.. How come Sweden?
Omg your friend is so pretty
You are pretty as well
Yes isn’t she, she’s absolutely gorgeous!😍 haha thanks❣️
I love Swedish
I wish I can speak it one day 😊
Så bra
Haha sooo wholesome!
Omg seven is who but Written sju same like norsk but pronounced different. Loved this. Great work, she's not bad
for me (an american learning swedish) i think the hardest part is those words that have a sound in the back of your thoat like hej and dig but i have no trouble saying things like sjuksköterska lolol. the noise was always decribed to me as wind over water tbh
Haha you got a sub after this one, this is great!
Thank you!!

Fun language... please more videos
Haha det var så kul😂😂= Haha it's was so fun😂😂
To try to say "Sju", I guess it works when saying "Fo" but without making your teeth reaching your lips , and keeping your lips circulated.
Try it!!
You should've had her try to say skådespelerska. That word is such a pain into the ass to say at first. Either that or föräldrarna.
@Milad Zavar But if you don't know the pronunciations (which most Americans don't), it's really difficult to say on the first try. Hence why I suggested it lol.
Thank you so much for your suggestions Courtney, I’ll keep them in mind if I make another video!!😃👍
swedish is a beautiful language, better not laughing when learning it
Your friend is remarkably good!
I totally agree with you!
Its not Nie and Tie. Ingrid is From the Stockholm region of Sweden where they cant say Nio and Tio and say an E instead of an O at the end wich is the correct way to say it. No its not toaletten thats the toilet in swedish. She asked you to say the bathroom = badrummet
I'm 100% Swedish but I prefer English over all other languages, there might be some words that are hard to write still for me but I've not learned any English in school/high school. Learned all my English through games.
I like the swedish girl
I feel she has a very pure heart
Thank you Adam🥰
Jätte roligt! 😃😃
I love it😂❤️😂❤️😂
The american girl is eventually really good at saying "sju" for my Russian hearing... :) As for myself, I can only do "hui" so far... :)
She is actually very good. I hope she study languages.
Try to say: Sju sjösjuka sjömän på det sjunkande skeppet sjaangie
Say wut?

Orka - like 'can't cope'
When she said "två, Tre, Fyra, Fem, Sex, Åtta, Nieh" was soo good, och föresten du utallar "sju" fel, man säger ju sju inte schu.
I love this mvh Swede
in Finland we are taught the pronunciations way different
Yeah cuz the swedish in finland is different
@mcparty o did not know that 🤔
@mcparty whit the lopptorg thing hell no i say loppis i guess it depends on where you live here
you could also ask var är toan insted of saying toaletten.
For the “I come from America” you said ifrån but the word on screen was från. Which one is right?
You could say both since they mean the same 😊
@@IngridFredriksson oh okay!
Bra lektion 😊
Does sju have an f sound at the beginnings? I can't tell. But it sounds like the german word for early.
No, the word sju doesn’t have an f sound at the beginning☺️
Great 👍
Thank you!!☺️
Blonde girl, single?! 😛
She's actually not bad.
Best Of Wishes! /Gabriel
English: Personaly as an swedish person i kinda was shocked at how hard it was to just prounance such a simple word and sju (seven) , to be honest.
Nice video👏🏻 but next time try to speek with an Albanian friends! I hope you can find an Albanian friend in Sweden☺️
Thank you Arian! I’ll keep that in mind next time I meet someone from Albania👍
