This is actually my favorite song from the new album. There's a beautiful melancholy about it (kinda reminds me of "An Apology" which is my fave ever).
It's also a perfect closing song because as soon as it's over you want to start listening the whole album again.
I agree
Audham EnTha Same here.
An apology is a great song
couldn't agree more
If it ain't broken why fix it.
They are golden
Saw them twice there at is there beauty..
Lead not for loss
And you’ll bleed not for long
Lost in streets, unnamed by your fate
Go unplayed, all the records, you’ve reclaimed
But it’s easy, in the winter
Where the white smoke
Rises slow like finding, something waiting
Where no one goes
It makes a sound like dying
Was it trying to say
“I’d give you all and diamonds, just for one more replay”
Just one chance to say
Keep me close, I’ll never weep
My love’s asleep
I’ve kept it close and guarded tight
From dead of night
And laid a cross of iron dross upon my door
The way you laid across our bed some time before
In the winter
There’s a black rose
Its beauty, something blinding
Curling wilding
Through the white snow
It makes me feel like diamonds
Was it dying to say
“I’ll give you all but silence, just for one more replay”
Just one chance to say
“As my lover goes my garden grows”
As she looks away I hear her say
“As my garden grows, my lover goes”
“As we look away, I hear him say”
Stay

"...the want, you know, you hope that someone needs that from you, the same thing that you need from them."
Hm. I happen to really enjoy this track. It's got that haunting sound that made "Like the Moon" so great, but it also has a nice bass groove. The new album is incredible, as well.
Love how he captures the world and takes you into the story with body language alone..🌠😎
aaahhhhh the beat is reaching deep ....>>>> Brilliant
This version just pretty much slayed me, and made thi sonsg THE song of the album. Thank YOU Strombo xxxxx
I love this so much.
Belatedly onto these guys. Can’t get their tunes out of my head. Just fantastic

@@waltermanhead2249 ok you angry little person 🤣🤣
@@leightonlee4108 Not really- this band has ONE good song. The catalogue is crap. You want to stuff your eardrums up your butt, go ahead, but this band is totally over-cooked. Your comment is idiotic and pathetic.
Prick
that bass wow
great stuff. such a fantastic singer
Loving the new album. So far my favorite is CAVE but quite a few to grow into. Am I the only one who notices Samuel T. ripped his jeans? ha.
this is FI's long lost song! the synth, the melody, everything! this is their best song! good god!
I like this one

The bass
English isn't my mother language and I not understand at all the lyrics. What's the meaning of this song?
I'm the black rose
HAHAHA
Heath Kirchart brought me here
Heath Kirchart the best
This is okish, North Star is a lot better than this. Gerrit is always the most underrated band member anyway.
new genre: gay emo
Sam Herring needs a better band
Future Islands have run out of ideas I'm afraid.
I'm afraid you're right.
Tom Hewitt no way
They only ever had one... one.
even if true, that's the beauty of music. It doesn't age out, i can keep listening
