    I love this guy. Great videos, short and detailed and to the point. Imagine turning up to get your car fixed and the owner has a gigantic moustache and a wall full of Miata posters... and one poster of a woman from Simply Irresistible. Brilliant.

    Awesome info, I need to get under the dash of my '00 and see where the clutch pedal is set. I have to push the pedal in fairly far, past the point where the slave starts to move, to get CC to disengage. My Integra will disengage CC by just tapping the pedal within the freeplay, so I'm not sure what's up with the Miata.

    Thanks for the video, it was a good start. It allowed me to almost completely reduce shudder in first gear, still had a little bit of grinding between gears. I later consulted the Haynes manual and first set the pedal height to factory spec. You did not set yours to factory spec you set it as far from the floor as possible. After setting the pedal height, I then set the free play at the maximum of free play range, 13mm. Now the car (an NB) does not shudder at all and never grinds even the smallest bit when shifting. It bites lower down and the pedal is easier to depress than previously.

    Hi Mike I've just replace both the master cylinder and slave cylinder on my friends Mazda Protege 1.6 I bled the system I noticed the part on the gear box that pushes the rod into the slave cylinder is not moving at all during the bleeding process, will be the cable or clutch clutch also the pedal is pushed to the floor very soft no pressure won't go into gear at all.

    • @MikesPlaceBiz
      @MikesPlaceBiz  Před 5 lety +1

      Hello Sir Lion,
      You may need to bench bleed the clutch master cylinder before installation. You will need to prime the pump before bleeding.

    • @Anthony_93h
      @Anthony_93h Před 4 lety

      My 96 Probe gt is a lil different there are two switches. one in the front of the clutch pedal and this a nut and bolt on top of it that stops the clutch when it comes back.so the switch in the front and nut/bolt are not combined on my car the nut and bolt are above it that's switches button is like a inch and a half and the bolt and nut are longer . the spring above the clutch pedal that holds clutch pedal are different too it's up higher and has a lot more to it and the rod and when the clutch hits the ground there's a switch it hits . When my clutch is coming back there's a little bit of wiggle and play when I got it they said it needed a clutch adjustment it doesn't feel right above the clutch pedal kind of has is clunky stuck feeling when it's coming back at the very end when you let your foot I'll try to Justin get twice and I'm having more more luck I might try one more time and then I might try to bleed it next or take it to a professional .

      My 97 also has the switch. It’s to prevent you from starting the car without pushing in the clutch. I bypassed mine with a metal clip so the switch is always pressed. This lets you start the car in neutral without pressing the clutch.
