All hail the 👑 King of Miatas. What a great guy to put out these videos. Simple, concise, and made so we all may have our best experience possible in the funnest car on the road since 1989. ❤️👑
I had too much play at the top of the clutch pedal. I watched the first 5 minutes if this video and went out to the garage and adjusted my clutch. It took 2 minutes to do. Thanks for the video, simple and easy to do.
I just bought one and i was want I ng to learn about this topic...thanks so much miata master
I actually went back and did this. For years I lived with the clutch catching at the top. I changed my clutch out for a learning experience and thought they all caught like that, but this change made my day and increased my love even more for driving manual.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was self diagnosing my issue for over a month and between a new trans (200+) new fluid (60+) all my issues were fixed with adjusting the rod and switch. I had a damn hard time going into pretty much every gear after putting a FM clutch in and could feel the clutch wasn't fully letting go of the trans. The one clue that gave it away was on a flat surface the car would creep even with the clutch all the way in. Feels like a new car again!
Hello Sir Varg,
All is good in the Miata Kingdom.
Mike. The King of Miatas.
Fantastic presentation, much easier to see versus cramped in car footage! Concise, informative and entertaining; thank you ⭐️
You're doing the god's work here. Thank you
Your video is awesome
Please help. 2006 mx5 5 speed just put OEM flywheel and oriellys clutch in. I think my problem was an input shaft bearing. But when I start my car or hit a bump just right it sounds awful. A rough bumping noise is heard.
I've adjusted the clutch, just as you've said. The sweet spot is in the middle. I've adjusted the safety switch all the way in. I have way too much freeplay. Is my clutch wearing down? It shifts just fine. Thank you Miata King.
Hello Sir Aaron,
Thank you for your concerns. Now you will need to adjust the clutch rod. Take a look at the video once again.
The King of Miatas.
Mike
what to do if a clutch- changes height with the temperature? when the car is cold, it catches in the middle, after driving for more than an hour it catches high.
Hello,
The hydraulic system has two much pressure.
First make sure the pedal rod has free play when released completely.
Second replace the clutch master as it is holding pressure. Good luck with your Mission Mike the Miata King.
I have a problem with mine is there a reason why my Miata will start fine when I press on the clutch but will die as soon as I fully release the clutch pedal or when I put in any gear?
Hello Hau Doan,
You may have a Miata that is stuck in reverse. Please watch the you tube video ' MX-5 Miata Transmission Disasters "
The King of Miatas. Mike.
so today i went to start my car and everything was fine( it was in neutral) then i put it in first and start releasing the clutch and stalls, so i start it back up and i can’t put it in any gear any idea what that could be? it’s a 94 btw
Hello Sir Alberto,
You may be stuck in reverse. Check out our You Tube video Miata Transmission Disasters.
Good luck with your Miata Stuck Mission. Mike. The King of Miatas.
My slave cylinder piston keeps popping out while installed. It seems like it travels too far out and gets stuck then leaks. I replaced the slave cylinder and went for a test drive, it seemed to work fine but it got stuck again when I got home. Any ideas?
Hello,
Acts like a bad master cylinder. Will not bleed off pressure when you release pedal, continues to push the piston
out a little farther each time depressed and released.
Push the easy button first check for enough clutch pedal freeplay at top of pedal stroke.
If not fixed go after the master.
Good luck with your Miata Mission. Mike. The King of Miatas.
@@MikesPlaceBiz I fixed it. The slave plunger was wrong and slipped through the clutch fork
Sometimes when I have the ac on and the car is sitting in neutral for some time the pedal gets very firm and difficult to press, why?
Hello Sir Joshua,
Thank you for your concerns. You may have a bad clutch master cylinder.
The King of Miatas. Mike.
Mike MiataKing well nothing is leaking, and the squeak sounds like it’s coming from under the car so I’m thinking it could also be the throughout bearing? Also I have bad clutch chatter and my car only has 30,000 miles total, never been raced
Where is the video on clutch bleeding?
Hello,
Thank you for your interest. The bleeding video is still in production.
The King of Miatas. Mike.
@@MikesPlaceBiz It must take a long time to bleed a clutch, lol, but it's worth the wait since your vids are very helpful.
I wish you talked either louder, or better, use a better mike. I had to turn up the volume way, way up! Then when the ads kick in, my ears lose their sweet spot.
Hello Sir Renato,
Thank you for your input. An artist always knows he can do better.

@@MikesPlaceBiz No offense, just joking in a way.
