Acton Church boasts a peal of eight old-fashioned bells that emit a rustic sound, requiring considerable effort to ring well. These bells, a mix from various London founders, harmonize effectively despite their diverse origins.
Ringing these bells demands persistence and hard work to achieve quality ringing. However, their distinctive and rich sound makes the effort worthwhile. The quarter peal of London Bob Triples demonstrated the ringers' skill and the bells' ability to blend harmoniously.
In summary, Acton's bells provide a memorable ringing experience with their rustic charm and the satisfying challenge they present.

Some nice ringing but the bells are not the best sounding.

I don't mind the sound. They have a very much industrial urban noise.

I never thought of it like that.
Sound is such a subjective thing.
I love the sound of St Paul's, very old school but very recognizable.
I think of London, where I was born, the sound of victory and whilst I think Yorkminster are heaven it would sound so wrong at St Paul's.
I often wonder if the abysmal tower acoustics at Liverpool cathedral will ever be fixed.

​@@Steven_Rowe Acton isn't a wealthy area, so the contrast with the bells and the area match pretty well. I always enjoyed ringing here!

@@RingerThomas Thomas, if I'm totally honest, I do like Simpson harmonic tuning, it just sounds so lovely but I do appreciate old school bells.
