Yeah, but since I changed my Alexa to trigger on "Echo" (Because I don't like saying Alexa) now when he said Echo which is not censored my device gets triggered.. Lol..

I went "Star Trek" with mine on the sofa end table, and changed the "wake word" from "Alexa" to "Computer"... now, I can't watch Star Trek episodes.... it picks up crew members loud and clear (but doesn't understand the 24th century request much) They need more refined owner voice recognition software... ;-P

This is a great thing to have. You could almost do anything on this Device it made me a true believer and I don’t believe too much of anything on the internet but this video surely explains everything in detail by detail instructions and directions on how to use this device you could trust your own judgment on how to hook up this device to your other home devices and ,stereos equipment ,cell phone ,electrical and, your ,lights ,speakers Bluetooth ,etc., etc. ,etc. pictures and so much more entertainment it’s seems like a lot of fun doing whatever you think you want too do in your home and your family’s home and feel safe hooking it up to your alarm system on a timing system as well whatt a wonderful development in this time of age. So why not have one of these in your home.👍🏾

Tech With Brett That would be great! You explain everything so well even amateurs like me can understand and follow your instructions without a problem. We have dropped in on each others homes. Over the holidays when we had guests we were able to use the intercom (drop-in feature) to speak with one another from room to room. We have our music set up. I can’t wait to try other options.

Thanks for the comprehensive video. The only thing I hate about the Echo Show 5 is its inability to hear me. I’m often repeatedly yelling commands. Never had to do that with previous Echo Dots.

I stayed with one then wanted them for my whole house lol planning on getting one more. Even convinced my sis to get one.

Hey Brett. As usual great video. Do you regularly use both ecosystems (meaning Google & Amazon) or do you prefer one over the other? I already own a Google Home mini but just bought an Echo Dot to check it out.
I have slowly been using Alexa devices more just so I can know both sides of the story. Google Assistant is definitely my go to assistant but Amazon has some awesome features like Drop In on specific devices that you can't currently get with Google Products. Hoping to have a Smart Assistant battle video up one day to explain more.

Finally decided just to commit to Alexa got the 3rd gen spot and the show 5 on sale last night and super happy.
Only thing it's missing is the ability to make actual calls in Australia
Another great video Brett, very in depth and you've tempted me to buy one. Issue is I've already got several Google home minis. The screen on this is making me tempted. Maybe do a video series on how to have a smart home with a combination of Google home devices and echo devices.

Brett. Great video. I ordered the Show 5 during Amazon's Prime Day, but after watching your video, I'm sorry I didn't order another. I do have a question. If you have an Echo Connect on your landline, can you get the Echo Show 5 to display the caller ID for incoming calls?
There is very little info about this online. All I can find is it says Alexa will announce the contact when receiving a call. I'll keep looking.

If you go under clock backgrounds, example, the beach picture, above that is a pen and a check button. Click the pen, and there are many more photography backgrounds. You can do this with all backgrounds. Like there are more colors of the strips background, more designs under the playful backgrounds. There are so many more options than what is shown in this video. I was suprised by the amount of options.

Already just started and when I say "customize my clock" my echo 5 says "hmm that is not supported by this device". It seems to NOT understand my voice. HOW do I improve the ability to understand me? And are all my swear words back to it recorded!
I bought two of these, one for my parents and one for me (I live next door) just to pair with the Ring doorbell I bought them. I had no idea it could do so much; they were only $45! This is going to work great so I can check in on my 97 year old great-aunt just by using the Echo.
