COPYCATS CONTENT CULTURE
The proliferation of content that appears strikingly similar on social media platfoms stems from a confluence of factors. Influenced by the pressure to confor to trends, algorithmic biases favoring certain content styles, and the pursuit of monetary opportunities, many creators opt for replicating successful forats rather than exploring original ideas. Audience expectations, fear of failure, and limited creativity or resources further contribute to this trend. In a culture that values instant gratification and quick financial success, the result is often a landscape where derivative content flourishes, overshadowing genuine creativity and innovation. Despite this, pockets of originality persist among creators who prioritize authenticity and novelty over conforming to mainstream trends
CREATIVITY IS NOT DEAD
Niche communities and creators prioritizing authenticity and innovation offer a refreshing contrast to the sea of derivative content on social media. Their commitment to originality not only challenges mainstream nons but also enriches the platform with genuine expression and creativity.
WHERE DID IT BEGIN?
In school, If you were more artsy than logical, or more artistic than mathematical, you weren't considered "smart, but you were considered creative. You would get bad grade, and punished for all of what you were bad at, And ultimately those failures outweighed the success you'd have in other topics that you actually enjoyed. The pressure was to get better at whats not meant for you, instead of watering what you were naturally meant to focus on. The educalion syslem often fails to recognize and appreciate diverse forms of intelligence and creativity, leading many individuals to feel undervalued and misunderstood under a system that does not cater to their unique abilities. - Zábava
“ do the opposite of what you think you would do and then you’re onto something” - needed that ❤
"Do the opposite of what you think you would do, and then you're onto something." I loved this!
Team Authentic Living Period! 🙌🏾
Your editing styles always amaze me, we never know what we’re gonna get when we click the video.
But this is pure gold, lots of what you’ve said I’ve felt but couldn’t put in words. Scrolling now really is like a treasure hunt looking for something unique.
Sometimes I get online or it feels like highschool never ended. Like you said many people are encouraged or feel the need to chase the bag/ algorithm and instead of slowing down, tuning into self, and exploring their creative gifts.
I really like this video Gazelle. One of the reasons I’m away from social media, like who am I? See so much of similar things, similar topics, poses, outfits, stories, decor, lifestyle but what’s authentic and true to you. What is your mind craving to learn, what does your soul love, what is your spirit letting you know. How can your heart open up more, and ways to nourish your body within. Even on CZcams, another glow up, another minimal decor, another target run, another self care, another surgery, Botox etc.. and it’s fine, I’m in no place to judge and not going to judge anyone. I just miss the genuine stuff and videos that are out of the box. It’s like teaching be this way or else be considered as unworthy or Fit in or be an outsider. Sorry for it being lengthy.
Thank you again for making this 💖🙏🏽
I feel you. This is true. Especially the hone in and focus on what you know you can master. While having multiple things you know you can master.
And masking.. trying to fit in.. exhausting.
The pull back.. the shadow work around creative expression…
The creative revolution is definitely spiritual. You have to stick to who you are. There’s no competition in your own lane.
Thank you for this free flow. Refreshing to hear this outside of my own head.
Wow… This made me have so many realizations on how I show up as an artist. When people talk about the effects of existing as a neurodivergent in this world they don’t talk about how we show up creatively. Only socially. so I never considered that I even had a mask in that creative area of my life. And I do find that I study others the same way that I would study people to understand social interactions more to appear more “normal”. This is such a taboo topic, grateful that your ,kind works the way it does to even recognize this.
Thank u ❤❤❤ let's tap into the infinite possibilities of authentic expression !!
I agree. Never be afraid to be you! You have a talent that nobody else has that the world needs. There's nothing wrong with learning but eventually take those training wheels off.
The b roll with the voice over, I felt that deep in my soul 😂🤧
It’s so hard to escape, even with my own videos 😂😂
Love this video topic! ❤ Makes me feel better for not wanting to be like anyone else on the ‘CZcams travel’ space… 🙏🏽✨
I’m so grateful you spoke on this because I feel the same. I’ve been feeling the call to share myself and express myself through creating videos (I won’t call it ‘content’!) and find myself falling into the templates of what other people do, as you said.
You are fresh, unique and clearly led by a Divine impulse beyond the collective. Thank you.
Love this video, just you talking, so nice to listen to
I’ve been making videos for a year now and just started short form. It’s really helpful to learn the “success recipe” because, as you said, you learn basics of marketing. Perhaps it’s one of these cases where you learn the rules first before starting to break them.
In school my experience was that I did everything literally perfectly but in fact I did not get the stipends and rewards apart from the good grades (in Finland the school system tries to encourage the not straight A students which is cool on itself but I think then they should be open about it and not fool us straight A students into thinking we’ll get rewarded lol).
I love your comparison to school and I think my experience has left me confused about what to actually do to succeed - in life and social media. My most viewed video that also made me most money partly went viral because of men analysing my sex life online (the video has nothing to do with the topic) 🤷🏼♀️ And the autistic traits, stepping outside of your own country, language and culture all add to the mix in this changing world 😅 I’m just trying to enjoy the journey now.
this video made me again think about how we go through this world and how we are influenced creatively every day. it really inspires me and it is sooo important to remind yourself that there is a creative revolution possible within yourself and within our community 🌀
This message definitely resonates with me, thank you. You may want to consider on making an apparel line on the quotes you’ve displayed on this video --
*“The Creative Revolution is Spiritual”* & _“Creativity is NOT dead.”_
I think it’s also a poverty/lack mindset of like this works for others and they get famous, money, brand deals, etc. & that’s what I want so that’s what I should do too. Same thing like you said about school and how we’re taught there’s really only one way to be successful when it’s obviously not true.
This fed my soul today. Thank you 🙏🏽
❤️❤️
Thank you for having this talk. Its a goal of mine to take the youtube leap this year. I was going to jump in and approach editing in the way that I’ve seen others do, but you’re right. Definitely going to spend some time contemplating on my creativity through video format. Thanks for the inspo! 💕
I swear you are just another expression of my soul. it feels so nourishing to know I am not the only person on this wavelength. thank you always.
Thank you for this video❤️
Thank you for speaking on this. I needed this reminder!! More power to you, beautiful and creative being x
Thank you for this needed message beautiful 🦋✨️
Ooh that comment, "Do the opposite of what you think you would do." Love!! Thank you for this video! I've been stuck doing the same ole same ole for a while and this was the inspiration I needed to try something new!
I am not saying Im on the spectrum - but some of my natural default traits align with people on the spectrum - I feel comfort that the neurodivergent convo is being had - I am not in a lot of ways apart of the mainstrain norms (by default) and its sucked to have always been treated as the black sheep/outcast - just for thinking- being - expressing myself outside of the norm.
I love and appreciate your style of content it’s truly unique and you have definitely inspired me to start editing my short form food content differently 🫶🏾✨. IMO the education system could care less about nurturing our originality or creativity. I feel like the “education” system isn’t meant for us to become educated for ourselves but educated for them, by them I mean this capitalist society. Back in the day when our parents were in school it was all about producing “blue collar workers “ and college students to work in their companies. Now in this generation it seems they’re heavily focused on producing aka educating kids on Technology and stem for the benefit of this current capitalist society moving more towards tech and ai. They’re going to need people to work and program these systems. Not saying that some people aren’t genuinely interested in learning these things but I can’t help but notice how certain interests and jobs are more socially acceptable than others.
