  • All 3D printing filament starts out in pellet form - small granules of plastic - so why not skip the long strands and print directly with the raw material?
    Let’s take a look at how to print with pellets and the best pellet 3D printer FAST JET 1500 is available today.

      So you can make loads of stuff and fix things and it'll save you loads in the long run. That's how I justified paying £600 for a table saw that I didn't really need.

    If this is fast for a machine this big, good luck. I'm expecting no less than 500mm/s speeds

    • @iemai3d
      @iemai3d  Před 2 lety +3

      Although 500mm / S is feasible, we prefer to increase the layerness to shorten the printing time.

      @@iemai3d guys take a look at klipper firmware for 3d printers, take a look at input shaper. Move on with speed and acceleration. We been there for 10 years without any significant improvement. Half a meter is the goal because printing must be at project speed, not waiting days to realized that there was an error and the piece is to throw away

    genuine question here. How does a pellet based extruder retract?

    • @iemai3d
      @iemai3d  Před 2 lety

      We tested the retraction and still performed well, although it is not as good as the retraction of silk printing.

    • @nyanotech4106
      @nyanotech4106 Před 2 lety

      it's a screw drive, so you can just reverse the screw direction

      yes we can

    • @sticky_ricebowl
      @sticky_ricebowl Před 2 lety

      @@nyanotech4106 I see.... but how about the part that already has molten plastic? does the reason why retraction works on filament based systems also applies for pellet based? I'm not sure if this is right but it's smth about creating a vaccum in the heater section which then also retracts the molten plastic in the nozzle?

    • @ingrownnipple
      @ingrownnipple Před 2 lety

      @@sticky_ricebowl I'm not sure on their process but in a filament based pulling back on the filament just lowers the pressure in the melt zone, once youre down where the filament is melting its a liquid in both. So as long as you stop applying pressure the effect would be the same
