- In this video we take a look at some (of the 107) songs in Lost Judgment and who composed what songs. This is a continuation of my Composer Appreciation series, hence the thumbnails of some of the composers.
MASSIVE thank you to Murabito for being the only person who puts the composers in the description of the Lost Judgment songs they upload. A playlist of all Lost Judgment songs can be found here: • Lost Judgment
Also, here's a playlist of a new name to the series, Satoshi Okamura. He composed things like the Amon theme of Lost Judgment and he is actually a great addition to their roster: • Satoshi Okamura - Yaku...
Also, here's the 4 songs Takahiro Kai has done for the series:

Thank you again to Murabito the Chad for putting the composers of the songs into their uploads. Also, check the description for some links including the songs composed by Satoshi Okamura, a new composer on the RGG Studio block.
Just for a bit of clarification, I accidentally misspelled Verification in the video because I'm dyslexic apparently and didn't notice the 'T' I chucked in. Another thing is I made this video a while before anything ever came out for the 4th DLC Boxing style but the battle music used for the style is ALSO Tough Cuss. Absolutely pure coincidence that that is the one song I used from the boxing minigame lol. No I don't work at RGG Studio.
That second paragraph explains why you misspelt Keitaro Haneda's name.
Aside from those mistakes, I applaud and salute you for giving these amazing composers' their credit's due!
also a shout out to marebito for researching the composers details
Quick question, didn't 83Key compose Dig In Your Heels?
Every composer has a few bangers under their name but Saori Yoshida having made Viper and Destiny surely makes her a favorite of mine
AND Green Vibes, what a queen
Oh shit, she made Destiny?
My favorite composer by default
K.O.G. too!
So from "what a funktastic hit" to "unwavering belief" "in the rhythm" and "blue stompin" its clear chihiro Aoki is best girl.
For real, for real
Going to be honest, the lost judgment title screen is the best in both the Judgement and the Yakuza series in my opinion.
Easily
Yakuza 5?
@@Gahblins_ yakuza 5 is good but it doesn’t swap to a cat when you het to setting and below
@@__bepis____bepis__308 Yakuza 5's would've been even more amazing if the character changes depending on the chapter you're in.
@@sapphire3084 missed oppurtunity entirely
"Viper" alone should have gotten the OST nominated for something. One of the most unique tracks I've ever heard in a game.
All these composers are incredible and deserve every bit of praise. Though I won't lie, the Lost Judgment ost made me a strong believer in the Saori Yoshida, Chihiro Aoki, and Yuri Fukuda supremacy. God bless these 3 composers. 🙏
Edit: Lol, come on silly. We all know by now that the Game Awards are allergic to RGG Studios. 😔
Same with ign
Damn, it's hard to find a single great female composer in high-budget western-made videogames, and this game alone has three.
Oath
Hell yeah
I find that Japan tends to be way ahead of the west when it comes to music in games. Do you think the same or does the OST in western games rival Japan's, in your opinion?
Lana Reine for Minecraft?
Japanese people seem to care more about their soundtracks. Indie games too. Big AAA companies in the West don't really care from what I see or hear @@randomduck8679
Dig In Your Heels is actually made by 83key as it is an arrangement of Chihiro's Unwavering Belief.
Thank you Chihiro Aoki for making one of the most badass boss fight tracks ever (Dig In Your Heels), genuinely can’t stop listening to it. Definitely up there in my top 5 for the franchise
Also gotta shout out Saori Yoshida for composing Viper, gave the boss fight a whole new feeling of dread and horror, completely different to anything we’ve heard so far
Every composer is talented as hell and my Yakuza playlist has now reached 188 songs, keep up the great work and I’ll be adding even more
Now I finally know who’s responsible for calling one of the best tracks “Vore” Thank you Mr Hanada for the cursed name on the blessed track
Unwavering belief really picks up in the second half, and dig in your heels fit that part of the game so well. Favorite final boss theme by far.
Lost Judgment goes toe to toe with my favorite Yakuza Soundtracks which are Y0 and Y7. Man all these composers step up their game with every game, I'm almost always excited for the next RGG game just for the soundtrack alone!
Dig in your Heels and Unwavering Belief are a power combo as two of my favorite tracks in the franchise, Unwavering being by far my favorite final boss theme of the franchise, including yakuza. And don’t even get me wrong, Viper is just as great as them both as well. It works damn well with Soma and emphasizes his character
I still can't fucking believe Destination just fucking returns, even more awesome than it was before goddamn
RGG composers are some of the most talented people in the gaming industry itgs. My favorite track from LJ has to be Juzo Amon's theme due to it giving me the old 3/4/5 theme vibes. And the overall track sounds like it was composed by Hyd Lunch
Well it was Satoshi Okamura who did that theme. He's a new composer but what I love about him is that he manages to make all of his songs sound like they've been in the games for ages. Like Dialogue for example I thought was a Yakuza 5 song they reused or something because he manages to capture the feel of older RGG games perfectly. Definitely looking forward to more of his stuff in the future
7:43 [BEWARE SPOILERS]
As for these comments, i whole-heartedly agree. It's likely because Soma is such a... _chilling_ and _threatening_ character, who death follows throughout the game. Also, his final fight takes place in a very cold meat freezer.
I haven't finished the game yet, so I'll definitely come back when I do, but man the soundtrack in this game is absolutely phenomenal. I fricken love the Crane theme, it is nuts, and same with Vorarephilia. The one thing I noticed though is that the Boxing theme is LEGIT the Pocket Circuit theme when you're preparing for a race from Kiwami. Go and listen to the song if you don't believe me, but the melody is nearly identical in terms of notes and rhythm, it's just in a different key. Great video though man, and I hope you are preparing one more video in this series for some of the under-appreciated composers.
'Aiming for the Top' is the kind of theme thats encapsulates youth, hope, dream, adventure, and future into an upbeat and cheery song. Listening to it reminds me of many old animes like Crush Gear, Beyblade, Let's & Go and something along those lines.
My absolute favorites are Unwavering Belief which is the final boss version of Dig in your Heels, Final Destination which is the improved Destination, and Viper which is a creepy, unsettling and sounds like a slasher type horror at times.
It’s like a more dramatic version of Stay Where You Are from WMMT3DX+
viper sounds like when you wanna celebrate christmas and halloween at the same time. the second part reminds me of that movie Psycho with the bathroom murder scene
Dude the music in this game is nuts. OST of the year for sure. Except it probably won’t get it because the Video Game Awards always love to hate on any Japanese games for some reason. Kingdom Hearts 3 not winning best OST in 2019 is a prime example of that, though FF7R got it last year so maybe there is hope for LJ this year. Fingers crossed!
Just checked the nominations this year. Not even one nomination in sight :( rip Lost Judgement game awards 2021
they really outdid themselves with this game fr
everything about it is just amazing
Unwavering Belief especially the second phase is one of the best boss themes ever with the mix of various genres and styles well blended in a single track together really made that final boss fight epic with full of dramatic emotions and action. Even Viper deserves a recognition that really tells alot on how dangerous Soma is.
Lost Judgement Have so many bangers !
I can never get enough of everyone's surprised Pikachu face during the EX action from the floor. Also the T Pose from the Crane multi hit EX action.
Amazing how so many people put all this music in the game, with so many different styles and it all comes off as cohesive because of how well every piece of the puzzle, from composers to story writers to everyone just does their bit beautifully. Great teamwork.
Can we all agree that Saori Yoshida is absolute fire at composing for these games? She did Theory of Beauty, DESTINY, Green Vibes, K.O.G, Viper, and the music for the VR mini game.
Blue Stompin' or In the Groove....Oh man, that sounds like classic Sega jazz
Sega and RGG Studios sound team can do no wrong, they have a knack for choosing great composers for their games.
Based Pikachu
I actually think that this game has the best OST out of all the games RGG Studio has put out. Every single track I listen to sounds so good.
Also my favourite track is either In The Groove or Vorarephilia. Fucking BANGERS
bro... the edit for Dig In Your Heels... beautiful...
This soundtrack definitely deserves to win awards
i would add “Show of revenge” too, it’s an incredibly haunting piece that sours the atmosphere of whatever it plays over
That was done by Hyd Lunch if you didn't know but all the cutscene music really adds to the Yakuza games. Like when you compare the super quiet cutscenes of Yakuza 1 where they rarely had cutscene music to now it makes it so much more cinematic and I love it
Don't let these amazing absolute bangers distract you from the fact that this is a serious game where serious detective Yagami and the serious bois gang do some serious detecting on serious problems of modern serious school bulling and murdering
This type of video would be really cool to see for all other individual yakuza games . Also thank you for helping me find the title for in the groove because I’ve been looking for that song ever since I heard it in game
My head exploded when I found out they really made Destination AGAIN BUT BETTER THIS TIME
And to think that Chihiro Aoki is the same composer who made one of my favorite Haruka Dance songs in Y5, only to make one of the best boss themes for Kuwana. Fuck yeah!
Love to see some of the old composer return in this game (or even in Like A Dragon)
Yeah this soundtrack is in my top 3 in Yakuza games. When all regular battle themes are really great, that’s a killer soundtrack.
Seriously, all these composers deserve a round of applause
thanks for the shoutout! i'd just like to add some info on who arranged some songs. Final Destination was arranged by Chihiro Aoki and Dig In Your Heels was arranged by 83key. otherwise, awesome video and series!
Thank you for letting me know! I do wonder though with the arrangements exactly how it’s all made. I mean, for the most part I feel like the arrangements will be who made whatever specific version and then they credit the original composers as the composer, but I don’t know 100%. I’d like to think though that it’s a collaborative effort between composer and arranger but it’s probs not haha
Can't get enough of it😍
Final Destination made the final showdown what it is. It made me super hyped from start to finish and that whole sequence as a whole will honestly go down as one of the best in gaming
Dig in your heels, viper & unwavering belief are some of the best song in the franchise all in the same amazing game.
Unwavering Belief must be one the best boss theme in the entire franchise. It's so good
So, Lost Judgment didn't even got into nominees for VGA, Geoff Keighley better watch out
IMO, the soundtracks keep improving with each RGG game (and they were already awesome back then). Now I'm hyped for Yakuza 8's soundtrack. You just know that it will have bangers as well. Why are RGG's composers so good? It should be illegal to be so good, lmao.
100% agree. I dunno how they make all of the songs completely unique from each other too because they’ve made so many. Like I’d run out of ideas in like 2 songs lol
Small correction, Dig In Your Heels is a remix of Unwavering Belief, and it was done by 83key, not Chihiro Aoki
They also composed Lambda for Judgment, which is still one of the best tracks in the series
Damn. Looks like this one is a bit more diverse. The best RGGS game OST, hands down. Nice edit on that Unwavering Belief one. And also, FUXK YEAH DIG IN YOUR HEELS OVER UNWAVERING BELIEF THANK YOU. CANT BELIEVE THE AMOUNT OF SHIT IM GETTING FOR THIS IN MY SERVERRR. (not really lol, opinions ipinions.)
Great work as always, Angieman, and I hope life and uni's not being too hard on you.)
Thanks man :) Uni's been pretty chill this semester I've been pretty on top of things which is nice. Thank you for checking up on me though
Viper probably fits if there was a modern action Jason Voorhees movie.
Never Hike in the Snow 2
I feel like Blue Stompin' definitely has some Dreamcast loading sfx scattered throughout it, but none of the videos I've found on yt replicate the sound like I remember. Well, either there were different Dreamcast disc drives with different sounds or I'm just remembering things wrong lol
Probably but I've never used a Dreamcast so I couldn't tell ya haha
2:42 major miss to not name this song Day-Day-Day-DANGERRRRR! Probably the wackiest chase theme in the series lol
And Soma's music essentially sounding like Christmas music is exactly what I thought too, what the fuck? He goes from Christmas backwards to Psycho Halloween! I love it!
You have to fight Geoff Keighley now, Lost Judgment didnt even get nominated for best ost of the year
I know it sucks :( The Game Awards every year is literally just who gave them the most money and what games came out like a few days before they put together the polls lmao
@@SnowiestAngeman It's weird this year tbh. Some of the choices in the nomination are so perfect, and then you got snubfest like this one.
Seriously, Lost Judgement, Neo TWEWY, No More Heroes 3, Guilty Gear Strive, SMTV and many more got robbed one way or the other, and it sucks.
@@darrylaz3570 10/10 games you mentioned
1811 and K.O.G just hits me on a whole different level
Awesome compilation love seeing who did what. God I love “Dig in Your Heels”
Side note: I feel like I got lucky with my experience in the robotics club. I had fun.
I have received numerous comments in my videos about how much people hate it which I find hilarious because I didn't mind it all too much either I just thought it was a bit repetitive haha
Lost Judgement and Judgement are the two games from the RGG studio that I constantly listen to
Nice songs, but you forgot one part that's I've been looking into it, that is the song when Yagami and the friends got surrounded by the polices/securities and the former Seiryo High Bullies and the Liumang's are helping him to flee on his way to the warehouse, well its not the part of activity/fighting but I've been looking into it for a while and still dont know what it's called.
Goddamn! The many uploads for this month are a blessing,
Btw: if you will continue with the Composer appreciation saga, you could make a video of each yakuza game and your favourite ost's from there. Just saying...
Dig in your heels is so good!!
As someone who only played Y0 (I will go for other games I promise, when I had the money for it), god bless the Yakuza soundtrack team. They keep nailing it in every single game, and Lost Judgment is to me among the team's best work.
Though unfortunately, them winning soundtrack at The Game Awards is kinda slim, unfortunately. The game need widespread mainstream popularity and recognition from both news media and social media to even get nominated (which is why we had The Last of Us Part 2 Awards last year).
Even if it got nominated, it's like choosing who you want to date among your best friends who fall for you, because Guilty Gear Strive and Monster Hunter Rise soundtrack also came out this year lmao
Hidenori coming in clutch with banger after banger
As per usual with him haha
This game's soundtrack is killer. This ties with SMT V for my game of the year, it's awesome
I love your videos
I wanna know why they named the basic boss theme Vorarephilia
But this game's soundtrack is so good like the final boss theme may have surpassed A Scattered Moment in my favorite final boss theme and I'm kinda addicted to Akutsu's it's that good
Similar to why they made the cover art for the game Goatse Yagami, my headcanon is that RGG wanted to troll everyone. 🤣
I didn't actually know what vorarephilia was until I looked it up and realised it was vore then I was very disappointed in myself
@@SnowiestAngeman You poor soul. Lol
@@SnowiestAngeman I feel so freaking bad for you now
In the groove is a masterpiece.
Fully agree sucks though that you don't get to hear the whole song in game though because the chases end too quickly :(
@@SnowiestAngeman And long drill on the beach sounds like it belongs in Yakuza 3.
Chihiro Aoki is shaping up to be one of my favorite composers of all time, up there with ZENTA and 83Key/On Your Groove
Same here but I just love all of their work so much that I really can’t pick a favourite haha
@@SnowiestAngeman with the amount of hits that has come put of the franchise, same here, but the work done on Lost Judgment is just phenomenal
We'll back you up if you're stepping up to Geoff at the VGAs!
When I saw the text for robotics club I felt that
***SPOILERS FOR LOST JUDGMENT BELOW***
Viper is one of my favorite tracks from any video game, ever. I love when a boss's music reflects exactly who they are, and I'm so happy that Viper is acutely menacing, just like Soma is. Similarly, all of Kuwana's boss tracks have this...desperate authenticity to them, to me? Like this feeling that underneath it all, he's just trying to do what's right in a fundamentally broken world, and there's a tension to the music betraying Yagami's awareness of that, too.
The music in this game overall just slaps so unbelievably hard. I've played the entire gauntlet of (Westernized) Yakuza games this year (I've even played LAD and Judgment twice), and this game's soundtrack is frankly in my top 3. Who told them that the songs for the MINIGAMES needed to just...absolutely go off like that?
Thanks for making this showcase. It is good. You are cool. :)
Viper gave me Nightmare Before Christmas vibes
I know I'm late, but I always thought of Soma's theme giving me Home Alone vibes, haven't a clue why.
It’s the Christmas vibes
Dig in your Heels is amazing, I’m mad they didn’t use any of it in the final fight
Yeah it was definitely a misused song because the fight it plays in didn't even get an intro or a mid fight QTE :(
4:19 I agree with you 100%. But the story is pretty good.
Dig Your Heels sounds alot like a Tetris Effect song (which is a compliment since that game's ost is divine) specifically it reminds me alot of the Master Mode song (called Mind Echoes). Now I know what song I should play over Tetris Effect when I practice Master Mode & am tired of hearing Mind Echoes lol.
I believe in Saori Yoshida supremacy
Another "Dig in your heels" lover!
Now that I've finally passed the game, I would have said that Judgment had way better music, but again, since I'm too busy trying not to die that sometimes I just don't register how good the music is. Viper is terrifying and the final boss music is unholy awesome.
2:27 thought i recognized this sound!!! glad to see them back
edit: 4:23 LMAO
Will you actually fight Geoff keighly if unwavering belief doesn’t get ost of the year
I still can't belive some madlads named a song Vore
It feels like one of those moments of Japanese people finding cool English words... but for this they definitely knew what they were saying lol
*They knew...*
It pains me that Guilty Gear Strive had to come in the same year as this, cos now it’s like choosing my favourite child with these godlike OST’s
Daisuke Ishiwatari for RGG when?
Oh my god, could you imagine? Naoki Hashimoto doing a lyrical boss theme as well would be hardcore
And Monster Hunter Rise. God that game and its vocals
Thks to you and Murabito. I’m curious to know if Okamura is a affiliate or a new member of RGG Sound Team. It’s very cool to listen to Kai songs, it seems there is a dynamic close to Yakuza 4 to join in the cast (H.) members. A very good ost can’t wait to get my copy.
Yeah Satoshi Okamura seems to be the new kid on the block basically. As far as I'm aware he started composing with this game and their newest Super Monkey Ball game, but before then I think he was just a part of the sound team for stuff like Like a Dragon
These girls makes some bangers
yagami: i suck at dancing
also yagami: hittin’ that shit
I swear on Joon-gi Han if this game doesn’t get ost of the year….
Soma's theme feels like christmas... but Satan is the one who bring gives
I wanna believe so bad that Kimura himself did the dancing lol
So Kyoudai....when do we march on Geoff Keighley?
Kuwana's theme both slaps hard
always wondered who made the final dance club song "Girls". that one was pretty good.
Apparently Aimee Blackschleger but I dunno who that is haha
Viper, Dig In Your Heels, KOG, Liumang's Chant, Green Vibes, and Fog are god tier and I wish I could've listened to the OST to my liking (directly in the game and a 70% 30% balance between OST and in-game sound) for the first time.
Goddamn you agencies, I would've sold my entire tf2 inventory to pre-order the goddamn game.
edit: And look at that, the same person that made Yakuza 6's Way of Life(best OST of all Yakuza imo because...y'know) also made Dig In Your Heels, and the person that made Theory Of Beauty/Destiny made KOG/Viper, Viper being a love in first sight(or hear) when I was watching Lost Judgment's playthrough.
4:16 my favorite moment for reason
I hope for PC release in the future. Soundtrack is fire, gameplay is fire, the story probably is too
apparently, Dig in your heels and KOG makes for some unusually pumping pursuit music..
Try playing NFS hot pursuit with these tracks as a cop... Distinctions guaranteed.
Man i was waiting for this video for so long because lost judgment has sick soundtracks! But it turns out this video was released almost a month ago🥲
I gotta keep it real here this game is my new favorite game, it wasn't even a competition. It's rare to see a game with a soundtrack that feels like it was made just for you. Fog is likely my favorite long battle theme in any RGG game, and that's saying a lot with t u s k existing in any capacity. Hydra is super good as well. I believe Fog, Ferocious Red, and Dig in your heels are my favorite tracks in this game. My own style is my favorite from the first.
So my new top 3 list goes
Lost judgement
Catherine
Castlevania: Symphony of the night
That’s pretty based ‘cause I absolutely love Fog too and Dig In Your Heels is probably just my favourite song in general
9:30 showing all the good scene i see
I waited till I finished the story for Lost Judgment, but yes you are correct....
I WILL FIGHT GEOFF KEIGHLEY IF THIS DOESN'T WIN OST OF THE YEAR!
Anyone knows the ost when yagami gave a speech after solving the bullying case(not 100% solved) the one where they put speakers so others would stand up to the bullies bullying koda.
Aoki Chihiro is a legend
4:20 that’s an understatement
I love how much hate that minigame gets it's hilarious hahaha
@@SnowiestAngeman it could have been so much better though :/

My favorite mini game, by far, and I'm not using those words frivilously. Very addicting. Best school characters as well.
