EXO ballads are always so beautiful, and they can get away with sparse instrumental texture because their vocals are more than enough to carry the song

I love that when people actually can analyse and appreciate EXO's vocals in their songs.. General public only view EXO as a visual group and they don't pay much attention to EXO's real talents and it's sad because EXO is probably one of the best vocally group in KPOP.. My most fav song from them in terms of vocal are Peterpan, Lucky and What Is Love

Exo's ballad is always different, you almost couldn't find it from any other groups. Or I think they just have unique vocals that makes the output feels more special, feels more R&B u know.. And I'm glad SM really efforts to find great producer who can bring out those vocal skills and colors.

This two song is one type of song that requires a great vocalist, not just practiced vocalist ... need good singing techniques ... and of course EXO is the right choice.
If anyone often says that EXO isn't special because they don't write their own songs, but seriously did they think...can a group that writes their own songs make a masterpiece song like this? is that group able to sing difficult song like this? i think No ... this type of song is really art ... can't be compared to ordinary Kpop songs that are quite sung with ordinary skilled. EXO with singing abilities above the average requires the best songs with high quality ... that's why SM hires great producers around the world to make songs for them ... their skills will be wasted if they only sing ordinary songs. The conclusion, EXO is different ... that's why they stay on top even in hiatus statue ... no one can't touch them ... it's a fact ...

I hope more people understand the same point as yours. everyone has different style when they write their own music.. Imagine if exo only sing the song they produce. Their music will taste the same in every comeback even though their vocal can pull many kinds of genre as a unit. I thank SM for not letting them produce their own song in this case and still giving them chance to learn. It's still talent to sing like exo yall.

Eventhough the title song is Beautiful Goodbye and is a masterpiece on it's own, I'm quite curious to know what you guys think of the side tracks on the album Love Words and Portrait of You. PLEASE CHECK IT OUT!
Love words is by far my favorite, and it's actually musically interesting along with I'll be there, I too really hope they check them out!

look up Sam Johnson's reaction to Chen's PREVIOUS songs. These reactors are music students. Sam Johnson is a vocal coach/teacher. He can (& has) analyse Chen's voice better.

Someone You Know Sam Johnson isn't as credible as you think when it comes to actual good vocal technique. He has said... some things that's not true to vocal pedagogy. He's basically just the same as those overrated vocal coach reactors.

I like James' point of Wait being not angsty and just gives a peaceful message while waiting for one's lover. Both are just pretty songs and really highlight EXO vocals.
That one girl who noticed the a capella parts even in their more pop and hip songs - YES! EXACTLY! EXO's vocals blend so well together that the composers say they can play with so many genres with them because they are able to execute it so well. They're really amazing as a unit vocally :)

I think exo’s 2016 album was one of the best they’ve ever released. Just something about every track stuck with me, especially stronger, so glad I came across them back then. They’re the reason I got into boy groups. ❤️

So happy to see reactions to some of exo’s bsides and especially their slower songs. Their vocals shine so much and the bsides allow for exploring different and interesting genres. This made me really happy^^ i also liked what Hugo and Rachel said about the main vocal’s timbres being similar but just different enough. They blend SO WELL imo and each add their own skill to a track!
