Something this beautiful should hang on a wall where the grain can be really appreciated. I fear that sitting on a shelf or filled with everyday objects doesn't do this piece justice.
You are very kind. Sometimes a simple shape just lets the wood do the talking!
Yes. No shavings, all dust with that stuff! I still have 3 big pieces of padauk left to turn but am waiting for when I'm going to do a really deep clean of the shop. But don't you love that color!!!!
Sounds great! No amount of dust extraction can keep up with all that dust!👍
Thanks 👍
No problem 👍
Great colors!
I think so too!
Super beau félicitations pour ce beau travail
Merci beaucoup d'avoir regardé 😀👍
Looks good.
Thank you. A very dusty, but enjoyable bowl to make.
Beautiful..
Thank you! 😊
Beautiful grain
I think so too! Very dusty to make, but well worth all of the mess!
Very nice sir
Big thank you 👍
While I believe this was a solid piece of Paduak, I believe you had some of reclaimed floorboards that were incorrectly identified as Padauk at Rebuild? These were actually Jarrah, at least according to the original owner of the house they came from. Made from ballast offloaded by ships coming from Australia apparently. In one board you could still clearly see the distinctive Witchetty grub hole. If you ever manage to make something of them I'd love to see the video and maybe buy a piece to go back into house.
Ahhh, that makes sense. Yes I have a couple of those Jarrah boards, they are on my 'to do' list. I'll probably pair them with Oak and make a striped bowl.
Very nice the finish turned out great.
Glad you like it
Beautiful padauk beautiful bowl well done mate🤗🤗🤗🍺🍺🍺
Thank you! Cheers!
Love the final results with Padauk, but HATE turning it because of the dust. I have to run the dust extractor the whole time and wear a dust mask so that I’m not blowing red out of my nose for 2-3 days afterward. It’s awful. Make a beautiful bowl if you get through the mess. Well done.
Totally agree. My hands were orange for 2 days!!!
Beautiful wood!
But it needed a little more sanding.
Thank you
Very nice piece indeed.
Thank you kindly 😀👍
Just beautiful !
Glad you like it!
Fabulous! I love it ❤
Thank you! 😊
Stunning.
Thank you! Cheers!
Nice bowl 🌞
Thank you 😋
nice work. How do you keep the Padauk from turning dark?? When I have used it, it is beautiful to start but over time it turns almost black.
I use loads of sanding sealer and cross my fingers! Thanks for watching 👍
Awful stuff to turn ! But lovely colours 👍
100% agree!!!
