My old piano teacher taught that the say C chord when you add the flat7th Wants to go to F, and so on. Also to practice the clockwise , and inversions.
Merci beaucoup. I'm just learning the fretboard now, and concentrated in G. But every once in a while I try to take it around the Circle, and it's not quite automatic yet. This seems to be too cool. I'll be on it.
Hi Lawrence. Yes, it really helps open up the fretboard for you. This is the way I practice scales now and I really don’t do as much of that as I probably should. I like to work on tunes rather than isolated practice exercises. Take care!

Wow mind blown! Thanks Rich...Joe is still teaching us. That's a great warmup for ears, mind & fingers.
You are most welcome! Yes, Joe has a lifetime of lessons to offer to us mere mortals! 😊
Impressive but way beyond my skill level lol

So cool! Guitar is a second instrument, Cello being my first, Love the interplay of applied music theory and also a really cool exercise.
Cool, thanks!
Jazz practice, and a Bach warmup too!
… and in the words of Pat Metheny,”Compared to Bach- we all suck!” 😊
Merci beaucoup.
