about goya: as a mentally ill artist myself, theres many times ive never signed what i can qualify as "vent" art , a lot of it goes unpublished, things i often forget ive done sit in my archives for months n years, maybe his paintings werent really plastered all over the walls before, maybe he had kept them in storage , and after his dead, his grandson had gone through big trouble to see what could be done with them, i dont think he would have sold them out of malice, but when your mentally ill grandfather left such big pieces just laying around , after what seemed to have been a well off relationship with him, the man that TAUGHT him how to paint, one cant just "inmeditely donate them" , one thinks carefully on how to treat the objects of passed loved ones after all , much more in that age !
Overall, i think GoyaÂŽs last piece , her caretaker, is a last love letter to the life he had before his fall, an almost heavenly image of a woman whos there to take care of him in his last moments, not a regression to his old work, but, more of a last thread of hope one can have on a deathbed.

Something even weirder is than there isn't a gradient between his Neoclassicist style and the Black Paintings. He just suddenly got the paintings done in that kind of expresionist art style. But his last painting is back to Barroque style ?? Pretty weird.

There's a spooky art legend at my university.
My university has a gallery which doubles as an exam room in the summer. Legend has it that years ago a girl was sitting her exam when she looked into the painting "Man proposes, God disposes" and immediately started screaming and then killed herself by ramming her pencil into her eye. This sounds like it should just be an urban legend but every year when exams are sat that painting is covered by the Union Jack so no one can look at it.

ufos in ancient art: in fine art, angels are usually depicted as beautiful humans with wings, etc. i think that's what most of us think when we hear the word "angel". there are many passages in the bible that depict angels as totally different, like as flying snakes with wings, bulls with wings, or downright monster-like with four faces (and not human faces!), as like being made of coal, being on fire or as flaming, sparkling wheels. so when there's some christian artwork with a shiny, sparkling, flying object in the sky like in your vid - yes, that's the depiction of an angel. i am not making this up, ezekiel 1-2 in the bible has an angel description with pretty much ALL of these characteristics. i wonder why there aren't more depicitons of THESE angels in art, they sound fucking heavy metal.

If the paintings are from Goya, I personally think the series was meamt to never be seen. I think they had much deeper meaner. I honestly don't think they were meant to get out to public, that could have been why there was no signature. Another thing, maybe someone else painted Goya's ideas. But again the paintings could be from the theory you said.

Rae, your background music really got to me! Spooky! That Francisco Goya conspiracy is so dark in its intent and execution, no? It's one thing to sell those paintings forty years after Francisco Goya's death for a large amount of money but something else to make the paintings so dark in their subjects, especially when neither the son nor the grandson actually painted in that style either. You know, it's also very likely that his son and grandson didn't really live in that house even if they owned it. They may have had an artist tenant who made the paintings directly on the wall. That would explain why they were selling the house forty years later because they discovered the paintings on the walls and instead of covering the paintings, they saw the potential to chase the art market.

*It's not very likely that "aliens" will come down here to visit or whatever because of how far away and small we are in the universe and how far away galaxies are. Plus, they might not even see Earth as it is. Light takes a long time to reach different distances and considering the nearest star is many light years away, these aliens wouldn't even see Earth as civilised(if they do exist, they'd probably be even farther out). And space travel. It's pretty complicated for us, might seem like it's never going to happen. What if alien life can't travel either. There may be a similar planet like ours with intelligent life but no means to travel interspacially. They still have the same laws of physics.
In all honesty it comes down to probability if nothing else. The chances of aliens visiting us get smaller and smaller every year, but there's also the question of how many aliens are out there, how advanced they actually are and how many are even developing. Currently, humans are one of the developing ones, but it would explain a lot about our effect on the Earth if we were descended from something that wasnt meant to be here.

I love the video! The only thing is that Francisco de Goya wasn't losing his hearing, he actually did go deaf. At the same time, the French invaded his home country of Spain and he began to be exposed to war. Both of these things sparked a different side in Goya, and he started illustrating more grotesque things ("The Disasters of War"). Although I think it's possible his son painted those paintings, it's less possible than expressed in this video. It would make sense that he would put less detail into his art as he aged and they became more rushed to be finished.

I'm surprised you didn't include King Amenhotep IV/Akhenaten, his wife Queen Nefertiti (yes, *the* Nefertiti) and their daughters when talking about aliens in art. Even Akhenaten's son, King Tutankhamun _(I think you might have heard of him),_ looks like an alien in a number of artistic depictions where you can see his skull shape.The best part is, Egyptologists have *no idea whatsoever* why this family chose to be depicted in this way!

I did my final paper in one of my art history classes on Akhenaton and talked about how he was depicted in his sculptures compared to other pharaohs. His body wasn't idealized at all and he had a soft curvy figure which im not sure if its because that how he actually looked or because he wanted to break the "god like" idealization when he banished the worship of other gods. It's so interesting looking at Egyptian art because of their advanced technology that just "disappeared" or was it that aliens were helping them.... the world may never know lol

About Goya: the only reason (that I know of) regarding the paintings not being immediately contested is that they refer to the Spanish Inquisition and the French Revolution that pretty much destroyed Spain as he knew it. It could be just the curators and art historians applying semiotic to see what they want, justifying something that doesnât make logical sense and it truly was the son. Anyway, thatâs just my two cents on the subject.

Literally only at 4:14 into the video and the street lamp I can see from where I was standing (my kitchen) pretty much turns off but the light is really dim. I carry on minding my business and not even 20 secs later it turns back on. I got the chills
