  • The basic bowline is one of the most important wilderness knots you can learn. The easiest way to learn how to tie this knot is the 'rabbit and tree' method which involves 4 steps: Step 1: Make the rabbithole, Step 2: The rabbit comes UP through the hole, Step 3: The rabbit goes AROUND the tree, and Step 4: The rabbit goes back DOWN the hole. If that sounds confusing then watch the first 20 seconds of the video.
    At the end of this video you'll also learn the 'finger twirl bowline' and the 'one handed rescue bowline'
