But when I seen the greatest football game ever, followed by the subtitle play as a school team I clicked straight in because I knew it was This is Football on the PS2
My dad got the ps2 on release in 2000 and one of the games he bought me was TIF2 and we ended up playing a game against each other on it before bed every night

Love it mate, in addition to my favourite Let's Make A Soccer Team I recommend playing "Real Madrid: The Game" (it's different and much weirder than the Birmingham game you played) as well as the Football Life and Football Agent games. There's also so many footy management games on PS2 that are worth trying. You are scratching a real itch for people with this series and I completely agree that we need more random football gsms with career mode and not just Ultimate team stuff! Keep up the good work!

I still play TIF 2005, it’s amazing, the career, custom tournaments and leagues are unreal, just wish they had ‘jumpers for goalposts’ on that game like the older TIF’s
I loved these games growing up. What I loved about this game (I had World Tour Soccer 2005, as it was called in the USA) was that you could play as most international teams. This game even had teams like American Samoa, something FIFA nor PES had. It was dumb fun.
I used to love This is Football. Being able to play on school fields always made me wish for a game where you could play in the lowest tiers of non-league at crappy little stadiums and work your way up. Also, you legit _COULD_ blag the ref with the dive button, but you had to time it _just_ right!

I loved this game, such a good game back in the day.
I own every TIF game (yes, I am an old man with almost 31 years of age) and the 04 and 05 edition were the ones I played most of all, I edited a school team in TIF 05 consisting of me and my mates and this squad won a treble. 😉👍🏻

TIF2002 had jumpers for goalposts where you started literally on a schoolyard with, well, jumpers for goalposts. It was so much fun as a kid.
I grew up with Redcard and jumpers for goalposts, and indoor football on fifa 98. PES at its peak as well. I feel bad for kids today. Realism won out over fun.
Even the fun game modes nowadays like Volta and The Journey are so half baked that they circle back round to being boring. That's the main reason I've started this series, gotta go back to when football games were fun!

I think TIF peaked on the PS1. Not bad on the PS2, and the career mode is great, but gameplay wise PES was out of sight!
I'd recommend giving Soccer Life! a go if you're wanting weird. It's an RPG (sort of) and it's bizarre.

I remember getting this game for Christmas I’m sure it had Kieran dyer on the cover. A random football game I remember getting on the PS2 was Sven Goran Erikson world challenge. Look it up if you have never heard of it or played it

Holy shit i thought I was the only one who remembered this game, I recall it had eye toy capabilities so you could add your real face into the game.

I remember having a TIF 2003 demo, but in my mind it came with the official PS2 magizine
I did some research! The demo was in multiple PlayStation Magazines! But it was also available in a demo disk that you could find in a black sleeve called PBPX-95514 (that maybe came with the console?)
2002 is one of my favourite ever football games. Watching this has made me want to play it

Yes! They're the same franchise! There were actually a couple more World Tour Soccers after TIF died, that only came out on the PSP
