    Take two aspirin at the start of your travel day. The aspirin will help to prevent blood clots from forming and alleviate minor aches and pains before they start. Also, I bring saline nasal spray. It helps me to deal with the dry airplane air.

    May I strongly suggest not putting your valuables (money belt) in the front pocket. This is super niche, but most accidents are during take-off and landing (and most people survive), and if you have to evacuate it will make a huge difference if you have your passport, cards, phone on your person. Also, anything in the front pocket can be forgotten, stolen or get dirty. But the rest are great tips.

      EXACTLY!
      I keep my necessary stuff like my passport and money on me, attached, so that if ANYTHING happens, I am not slowed down looking for things, nor am I ever going to be that person who prevents a safe evacuation by bringing their damned luggage with them on the slide!

    I take these with me on the flight:
    1 - Therm-a-Rest lumbar travel pillow, I don't always need to use it but some seats don't have much lower back support. It's compact after all the air are out.
    2 - Listerine pocketpaks fresh breath strips instead of brushing my teeth inflight, don't want to use their water to rinse.
    3 - Neutrogena makeup remover wipes, I don't have makeup to remove but the wipe cleans my face without drying and it's individually wrapped, doesn't take up any room.

  • @laniteshima9912
    @laniteshima9912 Před 2 dny +8

    Ohhh no no no. The whole purpose of wearing a money belt is to keep it on your body AT ALL TIMES, including on the aircraft. If you remove it and stick it in the seatback pocket in front of you, you're risking forgetting it at the end of your flight, as well as having someone reaching over and stealing it while you're sleeping. The rest of your suggestions are great but this one is a HUGE no-no. If it's uncomfortable to wear it because it presses into you, loosen the belt and push it up a little higher above where the seat belt sits. Or go into the bathroom and loose the strap enough so that you can wear it crossbody style under your T-shirt. But whatever you do, DO NOT remove your money belt! Dude, seriously.

  • @lesliemilthorpe
    @lesliemilthorpe Před 6 dny +6

    Carry a resealable silicone sac to hold that money belt in before you put it in the back pocket to keep it clean. Permanently tape a ribbon to that sac and hang it over the edge of the seat pocket to remind you it's there.

  • @alicehughey1719

    I don’t use a toothbrush and paste inflight because they keep saying the restroom water isn’t potable. So to brush your teeth you have to take bottled water with you to the restroom. On the plane I use Wisps (or equivalent brand)-tiny individual toothbrushes with a dab of paste built in. I always try for reusable things but this is one of the few disposable exceptions that’s worth it.

    I prefer a thin silicon bag instead of a hard case for medication, so I can keep the tablets inside their sachets if I cut off a few tablets at a time. That way I can prove to security the name and dosage, I can check the expiry date before each trip and keep them sanitary. I also never travel without hydralite sachets, multivitamins or earplugs.

    I tried one of those collapsible water bottles, they're horrible. Yes, the fold up easily, But once you fill them up, they won't stand up on their own so they take up so much more table space by lying flat, you can't slip them into a side pocket of a bag while you have water still in them, etc. I literally threw mine away in the airport as useless ...

      @@jaimetarne9436 There are different collapsible ones. The one shown , which is recommended, will not standup. If you don't have a way to hang it off a clip, you'll have to hold onto it in your hands, or empty it - it will not stand up like a regular bottle in a side pocket, leaving your hands free.

  • @ellengriffith2561
    @ellengriffith2561 Před 8 dny +3

    Yes to all your suggestions (although the collapsible water bottle was a messy fail for me). The worst part of flying economy is the PAIN from being cramped. I take ibuprofen before every flight, do seat exercises, try to walk the aisles as much as possible, etc. with minimal relief. I truly feel for larger people (I'm 5'2" & 100 lbs) and wonder how they stand it! The airlines are shameless in their pursuit of profit over basic passenger comfort! P.S. I would never put my valuables in the seat pocket due to questionable bacteria plus theft risk. I wear a (no velcro) neck wallet tucked under my shirt/sweater and it is so comfortable that it stays on the whole flight.

    couple things - (1) charging cables (to use with the power bank ) (2) I would not recommend visine. I would add Imodium and Benadryl (or generic equivalents of each) to your medicine pack. Vomiting is bad enough, but you really don't want to be running to the toilet every 5 minutes, especially when there is likely to be a line. Also, you may not know of any allergies, but that doesn't mean you don't have any. Having something to help you if you need it can be a life saver, sometimes quite literally.

  • @tomsmith7571
    @tomsmith7571 Před 5 dny +1

    Flight complaints: #1 legroom, #2 using the lav is just awkward on a plane.
    Plusses: crossbody bag is great for keeping essentials convenient and for comfort. As for moneybelt, I like the pouch style that has belt loops and then just flips under your pants. No strap around you.
    Instead of collapsible bottles I prefer an insulated mug so my drink stays hot/cold a long time. A space sacrifice that's often worth it.
    You have good tips/hacks. Thanks!

    Careful about putting your money belt in the seat pocket. First of all, that seat pocket is filthy. Ever seen it being sanitized? Think about what people put there. I put the items I want to have handy in a silicone bag and then placing it in the seat pocket. Easy to wipe off!
    Also, if you don’t know your seat mate, that money belt could be tempting. I hate to say that, but I actually found someone in my purse when I woke up during a long haul flight.

    Be mindful, when traveling internationally, about just putting over-the-counter medicine in a little pill case. Countries have different laws about what drugs are legal to bring in -- for example, Japan doesn't allow some decongestants you can get OTC in the U.S. Also, if any of them are prescription, it's very important to either keep it in the original prescription bottle with the label on it, or carry the prescription with you (if you don't want to carry a bunch of pill bottles, you could carefully remove the prescription label and stick it on a small ziploc bag, but if so, carry the prescription from the doctor). Even if it's just a minor thing, customs agents in your arriving country can use it as an excuse to pull you aside into an interview room and start going through everything, including your social media accounts on your phone (and trust me, this happens to foreigners coming into the U.S. as well as Americans going overseas).

    The things i take are a body belt with cash in it, , a tablet, my phone and a charging cable. The rest i could not be bothered with.

    Trust me - first class is a joke anymore. You still pay a premium for pretty much NOTHING. The seat back on the last flight had me in tears after the first hour of a six hour flight. I asked the FA for a pillow and he told me pillows were only for international flights. The food was completely inedible and they gave me the wrong meal. (No, I had not complained about anything - as a matter of fact, I gave all the FA's a nice lambskin bag with tip money and quarters for laundry, which I will never do again.) The seats did not have a footrest and I think that added to my legs losing circulation and my back killing me. It was like sitting on a park bench. Oh, and the "first class" bathroom. Everyone from the back kept using it and it was filthy and disgusting. On a flight years ago in economy I couldn't get into the bathroom and asked the FA if I could use the first class one (I was well dressed), and she said NO it was only for "first class." So, at least on American Airlines, don't waste your money. The ONLY "benefit" we got was we got onboard first. Whoo hoo.

    Worst thing about economy for me: close proximity to passengers with BO!🤢 I never travel without pack of tissues and a bottle of strong perfume just for this situation.

    Don’t you need the package of the pills 💊? How do they know if that aren’t drugs when you are stopped by tsa?

    I am a small slender person & I feel strongly that the seats on economy are way too small...even for me! How can normal size adults even do it? I couldn't even get into the bag at my feet...it is INHUMANE & should not even be legal

    Great video! But...Yikes! You put your "Must Haves" in the seat pocket? Where people put used diapers? And where my friend put his phone & forgot it in a groggy state after a long flight? Yikes!

    The big peevvvv, when we have purchased bulk head seats, and people use it as a thoroughfare….we have paid for this space, and it drives me mad. So I put my bags, pillow and blanket it the space, to try and block them…

    The worst thing about flying economy is the loooooooong boarding process.

  • @christopherulrich3265

    My flying pet peeves: people who take their shoes off. It’s disgusting. The airplane is NOT your home. Keep your friggin shoes on. Nobody wants to smell your stinky feet. Also…people who don’t know how to walk down the aisle with their bags and luggage. Carry it either directly in front of you or behind it, not to your side. You carry it stuff to the side and you’re wacking people (namely me…I always sit on the aisle)in the head. Use your head people and be considerate of others.

    Highlighting ECONOMY in all your sentences is like flying ECONOMY is something frowned upon. I always look for your videos but this one gave me cringe ECONOMY. Bro we all almost always travel ECONOMY. No need to highlight ECONOMY.

    • @thetravelcoaches
      @thetravelcoaches  Před 9 dny

      Yeah I would avoid airplane water at all costs. The Wisps is a very good idea. Thanks for sharing❤️

    Puts the money belt in the seat back pocket… Me: NOOOooOO!😬 Just use a body bag and snap it around the arm/s of the tray table (after disinfecting everything you’re likely to touch, including tray table arms, of course). When you’re going to the loo, take your bag with you.
