When we get to where we're going, we find a Walmart/Walgreens & buy a full size of our shampoo, conditioner, & body wash that we like, & we both use it so that by time we're at the end of a 7-9 day trip they're all empty or close enough that we just toss them when we pack to go home. For our important papers & passports when we go on cruises, I have a 2 pocket pencil pouch where we put all our boarding passes and hard copies of hotel reservations. I know people like to have everything on their phones but you never know when you're trying to check into your hotel & not have wifi, without that paper printout as a backup, ya good luck. As for a blanket/pillow for the flight, how often do they really wash those things & who used it last? Just dress in layers & roll up a sweatshirt to use if you really need a pillow. I have a garment rack that I bring up a couple weeks before whatever trip we're going on & start pulling outfits, then by time I have selected to take with, it looks like 'geranimals for grown-ups', everything is mix/match so I can get the most use out of the least items without feeling like I'm missing/forgetting something. Oh, I ALWAYS take my hairdryer, especially on cruises! They have the 'safety ones' & I understand why, but your finger gets sore holding that button, especially if you have long/thick hair! We've also had hotels that either didn't have them or did but they didn't work & I like mine, small but powerful.

Avoid taking clothes which are slow to dry like thick cotton. Much better to quick dry thin synthetic T shirts and polo shirts...and can be used for outdoor activities and well. Quick wash in sink..and dry the next morning after hanging up

Great video. Why buy unhealthy snacks when you can get bananas, apples and lychee or longan? (All are easy to eat and not messy at all). Always travel with a 3d face (eye) mask so you can sleep anywhere under the Sun (no pun intended). Lastly, I've never seen anyone dry their clothes on the *floor* before, seems like a really bad idea (it's not clean and takes longer). Live long and prosper, and safe journeys! 🙂

I chose the Anker 733 Power Bank as my all-in-one power adapter and power bank. It operates on 120 and 240, has US plugs, two USB-C and one USB-A outputs. I also bought an inexpensive adapter plug set and only take the adapter needed for the country to which I’m traveling. That reduces my tech by at least one item, and saves me the trouble of linking my power bank to my adapter.

My carry on essentials: 1 change of underclothes in case a flight is delayed, phone and 10,000mAh power bank because I don't have time at an amusement park to stop and plug into a wall, Kindle Paperwhite and a a tablet for watching movies, phone, a small flashlight (don't know how many times we've had power outages while on trips, plus it helps getting around hotel rooms when the kids are already asleep), cable management folio with 4 USB-C cables, the chargers for our watches, and a 30W 4 port charging brick, a small OTC first aid kit (Tums, Motrin, Tylenol, Benadryl, rewetting drops, and Band-Aids), a small Fiskars mending kit (don't ask how many times I've had to reattach buttons, stitch a hole in a stuffed animal, do on the fly repairs of a zipper, or tack up a pulled hem on trousers/ shorts), plus Prescription meds, and my toiletries which include Lush shampoo bar, folding hairbrush/comb, toothpaste tabs, travel toothbrush and floss, deodorant stick, razor. My only liquids are a travel sized bottle of contact lens solution and 2 x 3 oz refillable tubes of sunscreen per person (skin allergies...can't always be sure of finding a brand that doesn't cause my youngest to start peeling). All of us have the same stuff, except the youngest who still tucks a small stuffed animal in hers. Plenty of room and they easily fit under the seat. And I always bring at least $40 for tips or the rare occasion when we find a vendor that doesn't take credit.

I'm sorry, I disagree about getting off the plane. If everyone waits until the row ahead of them has exited the plane before they stand up and starting getting their stuff together, it will take FOREVER. When maybe two rows ahead of you are leaving, then stand up and get your bags out of the overhead bin and collect your personal belongings so when it's your row's turn you're ready to go. And there is nothing wrong with standing up even before that - even if you're several rows back - it doesn't slow down what is happening ahead of you. Most people just like to stand up because they've been cooped in their seats for several hours.

I'm wondering if there is a way to only pull out layer(s) as I want, so it will look cleaner and more meaningful? I dig your vids, thanks 👊💥 however I personally disagree with the "avoid backpacks that have just one pocket" statement. I love having a big empty shell. I can then use super thing organisers or packing cubes dependant on my needs for that particular trip. After I've arrived at my destination, I want my pack to be super light and mostly empty. When I have bought technical backpacks in the past, I'm always frustrated by the sheer weight and bulkiness of the thing. Now I prefer two bag travel, I backpack + roller as I'm a business traveler not a leisure one, but a few years back I started using the Kanken Laptop (with the extra cup sleeve and document organiser) and I haven't looked back. I can easily get two days travel with just this (more if I went with the 17") and once I get to my hotel it's back to it's super light low profile form.

So I went to Texas for a vacation and ended up getting a knife from the Alamo and got it taken away at TSA because we left it in the wrong bag and when it got taken I was so mad I almost broke one of the metal spinning bars that they use for putting bags on the conveyor and almost said that that TSA officer wasn’t a true American and didn’t support his country even tho he’s doing his job and as I walked away almost said to him remember the Alamo and started talking under my breath saying I wish he would be fired and never have another job and not be able to support his family since then I’ve moved on still disappointed at the fact we made a mistake and put the knife in the wrong bag but also still a little bit angry at that day

Passport Cover, definitely. I am international captain for the world’s largest airline. Three decades of travel experience, almost as much time as you, 😂. I need to protect my passport so it lasts 10 years. I take it in and out of the protector multiple times a week, not a big deal.

Lush has tooth paste tablets too! They have a TINY lotion bar at the checkout that's like $2.50. It's THE perfect size for travel AND the sales for it benefits charity. If someone needs solid conditioner, body wash, etc. Kitsch is great. They have little mesh bags for them that are labelled but they are $5 each. One last item is CREMO makes shaving sheets for guys. GAME changer for my husband. Can you tell we recently replaced all of our liquid toiletries too? LOL
