AVOID These TSA Line MISTAKES (10 Airport Security Tips)
czcams.com/video/COi0oaYCWs0/video.html
I store my soap bar in a small organza bag with a draw string. These tiny bags are available from dollar stores and are intended as gift bags. The drawer string/ribbon allows me to hang the soap on a shower curtain ring or over a tap. The texture of the organza acts as a mild exfoliant.
Smart! I buy the ones from Kitsch for $5 a pop! 🤣🤣
Perfume - Lush, Jo Malone
Face moisturizer - Olay sticks
Sunscreen sticks
Bug repellent sticks
Kitsch shampoo & conditioner - also has great travel containers
Colgate toothpaste tabs
Makeup remover balm stick - Elf & Wet ‘n Wild
I use the matador bag for my shampoo bars, but I also cut them into quarters to make them even more lightweight. I also cut up a laundry bar (only a couple of bucks at Walmart) to do handwashing in the sink. At age 61, I am always trying to lighten my load and use a smaller backpack!
Great recommendations, thanks for sharing❤️
I love that you mentioned Lush. I use it daily and have found that the store will even give you samples which can also be used for a weekend getaway😅
i started out with the shampoo./conditioner bars, but then i realized they're quite heavy, given that the airlines i'd be on have very strict carryon rules for luggage both weight and size wise. i'm trying to look for sheets instead, including laundry sheets. im trying the toner/serum hack of moistening cotton rounds with them
I've been team "solid travel toiletries" for years now. So much easier as a long-term frequent traveler. Even though we check a suitcase, I'd rather not deal with liquids leaking in our suitcase. My favorite find is The Powder Shampoo, which lathers with water. It works better than bar shampoo for me. 🌺Heidi
what brand of powder shampoo is your favorite?
The brand is actually called "The Powder Shampoo"@@staceybreeze9927
Crystal deodorant sticks are great! All you have to do is wet them. They last a long time too.
Agreed! I’ve been using mine for years! It’s AMAZING! Kind of blows me away!
I love the little solid sunscreen sticks by CeraVe. Great vid!
Thanks for the recommendation and watching!❤️
I really appreciate your thorough explanations..tips for better use of the products. I already use many of these but enjoy learning about others!
Ethique solid bars are wonderful and are plastic free. I use them both at home and on travel.
Great I will add it to the list of things to try out!❤️
I like Anahana bar shampoo. It’s harder and doesn’t get goopy like Ethique
I was curious about those leaf soaps because I was thinking about substituting the soap for the shaving leaves. I checked and the ingredients are actually different.
This was a big help for me thank you for making this vid
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching❤️
Pretty solid list of products! Will have to a few of them!
I switched to all solids this year and it is nice to not worry about liquids for spilling or TSA even with Global Entry. Some toothpaste tabs have fluoride and others don't so check the label. We use both but the fluoride versions don't foam up as nicely as the non fluoride versions. Lush shampoo and conditioner bars work great. I use bar soap for body and a shave soap with brush but plan on trying just Dove Mens + care for both and maybe even getting rid of the shave brush. I also use a buff puff exfoliator pad instead of an exfoliating cream. It is more aggressive but works well and no liquid to deal with.
Kate McLeod does a great solid lotion… comes in a travel size as well as a larger size… very moisturizing and does not have that waxy feel
Awesome thanks for the recommendation! I will have to check it out! ❤️
I've been using a tooth powder for years. It works great, and you can pack a tiny amount to last for days. Weighs almost nothing too.
I was debating investing in some, but now I will have too! Thanks for watching ❤️
I make my lotion as twist up bars, a cooling cream with aloe, body scrubs, and lip balms that are all very easy to use. I also started to make my own deodorant in travel size. Thank you for the information about travel hacks.
Dr Bronner’s Castile soap is perfect for hair, body and laundry. I’m a woman, by the way.
Thanks so much for the recommendation! ❤️
I have the Matador bag and I love it.
On Maggi Fuchs' channel she recommended putting the bar of soap in a plastic mesh bag before putting in the Matador bag and that way it is easier to remove the bar of soap.
Now with the mesh bag and the incredible Matador bag my soap lasts much longer and doesn't get strange or chewy.
I like that he explains very well and we can see how things work and not just talking
Thanks for all your advices.
I love my stick of Vaseline. You can put that stuff on everything!!
Great idea!! Thanks for watching ❤️
I’ve been using the Beckmann goat soap shampoo bar at home for awhile, I like their orange blossom scent, and it lasts for about 2-3 months I have about the same hair as yours.
I bought a aquaphor stick for my next trip. I am intrigued by the toothpaste bites - I need to try those.
Thanks for watching! ❤️
I like the Sunforgettable powder SPF from Colorescience.
Thanks for the recommendation! I will add it to the list! ❤️
Best solid paste deodorant I have found is by black chicken remedies. Made in Australia 🇦🇺 also grab yourself a solid SPF stick sunscreen and a small solid perfume, they save so much weight
Thanks for the recommendation and watching❤️
Great video! Jumping in late, but some thoughts and questions...
I travel the world twice every year, for 1-2 months each time - solo, hosteling. I carry a 20L pack and my total pack weight is just under 9 lbs (4 kg).
We all have different priorities and preferences... but for me who crave compact and lightweight, I never carry shampoo bar, soap, soap case, detergent, etc. All the hostels, hotels, apts, B&B's I've ever stayed in provided soaps - now in dispenser form more than actual soap bars - which makes doing laundry in the sink even easier. If I should ever encounter a place that doesn't provide any soap at all, I wouldn't stay there - just think of their clientele (there will always be some who'd rather not pay and don't care about hygiene) - and their linens and sheets! No, thank you.
In lieu of toothpaste tabs, I've been using much more compact/light weight Listerine mint breath strips. My routine is floss, brush, gargle and finishing with 1-2 mint strips. They both freshen breath and kill germs (which most toothpaste don't).
Finally, I have very fine and straight hair and I always need 'something' to keep my hair in place. I've been using SmartFixx H2O hair styling strips (kinda like Listerine mint strips but bigger pieces) - and I still have supplies for a couple more trips; but sadly, they seem to have been discontinued. Do you use hair gel products and do you have a non-gel substitute?
Lush toothpaste tabs are smaller than most, softer so they dissiolve well but foam up nicely.
Another cool hack I learned recently, is to decant a liquid onto cotton rounds. I like to travel with witch hazel to clean my face, or if I get a cut. It has several uses since it’s a natural astringent. Then I have a small round tin to put them in, or you can use a baggie. Once you decant a liquid, it doesn’t have to go on your liquids bag. Like wet wipes. Also, if you take hand sanitizer that is under 100ml then it MUST go in your liquids bag, but if it’s larger, it doesn’t. Weird right. A new rule since the pandemic. I would double check with TSA first to make sure it hasn’t changed. Also, that may not apply if you are flying with other airlines not originating in the states. Like if you go to Europe and start hopping around to different cities, like I’m doing next month. Happy travels!
JUST got me some laundry detergent 'sheets'. Cut a sheet in quarters and will test soon.
I’ve been using laundry sheets at home for a couple of years, and plan to pack a few for my next trip. I’ve been happy with them.
That will have to be one of the next things I try out! Thanks for watching ❤️
Lush has tooth paste tablets too! They have a TINY lotion bar at the checkout that's like $2.50. It's THE perfect size for travel AND the sales for it benefits charity. If someone needs solid conditioner, body wash, etc. Kitsch is great. They have little mesh bags for them that are labelled but they are $5 each. One last item is CREMO makes shaving sheets for guys. GAME changer for my husband. Can you tell we recently replaced all of our liquid toiletries too? LOL
Olay makes water-activated facial wash cloths. I even cut them into smaller pieces to get more uses out of one. They remove
makeup well and do not sting your eyes like some makeup removers I have tried.
I actually just recently heard about these! I will for sure try them out! Thanks for watching ❤️
I love the Lush lotion bars. They work so well but they do melt so be careful.
On solid shampoo and conditioner, do a test run. Especially if you have long or dense hair. I find that it gets the job done for one or two washes. But past that, my hair just doesn't feel clean and solid conditioner just doesn't deposit enough product into my hair so then it ends up feeling dry.
Great tip, thanks for sharing!❤️
I went with 1 bar of clear glycerine soap in a stainless steel shave cup & lid, for: shower, shampoo, shave soap & shave brush. Tooth brush, small toothpaste, roll floss, small stick deoderant, lip balm, Ibuprofen & Q-Tips. Done.
Are there any travel size solid toiletries that are fragrance and scent free?
Yes, Ethique has a whole unscented line.
Dr. Bronner’s
Interesting advice. I'm not sure about how e. g. a comb fits in a list with this very title though.
Thank you😅🪥🧼Finally someone who travels with a toothbrush, that is not electric. Now I just hope I can find it in Denmark🤞🏼
No crystal deodorant? You can even get little travel versions that are a little bigger than a chapstick
I will have to give it a try! Thanks for watching
Try dr bronners all in one soap
Thanks for the recommendation and watching❤️
I was just about to suggest the same! Dr. Bronner’s can be used for laundry, dishes, body, cleaning, shampoo, etc… definitely check it out!
Does Amazon sell these bar products? I'm guessing it does. 😮
Now it's time for solid water 😂
Haha, thanks for watching ❤️
Powdered water does exist. Look it up.😅
Ice Ice Baby 🎶You're allowed to bring ice through TSA security.
❤
"flavored" soap? 🙂
I dont take any liquids or toiletries. My hotel always has soap and shampoo i will buy toothpaste and whatever else i need at my destination.
All good ideas, but the downside is, that most of these products come in a plastic container, which creates more plastic waste. Please try to focus more on those companies that use degradable packaging 😉
Great point! Thanks for watching❤️
Yes. Lush has recycled paper packaging. There are plenty of solid deodorants in recycled cardboard packaging too, but I can never find one that’s antiperspirant because of the myth that it causes cancer.
Thanks for the alpha
I bought a aquaphor stick for my next trip. I am intrigued by the toothpaste bites - I need to try those.
