If I won the kit I'd be just getting started in leathercrafting. I've been looking for a craft i can use to make beautiful things without needing a heap of space just to get started (I live in a small flat), and I think leathercraft is going to be my jam.

I actually repurposed many of the tools I was lucky enough to already own. Like fine clock maker files to rough up the nice surface of the leather. Or metal scribers that work just as well on leather. Or the wing deviders that are used to mark metal as well.
Basically if you're a mechanic or own a good toolbox you have half the tools you need already

I will say for me it has been a trial and error for almost two years since I started leather craft. There are tools I purchased that I honestly realized I didn’t need and some tools I still use that are entry level tools. I’d say the most expensive part out of all of this is actually the leather itself, however there are plenty of sites that allow you to purchase by the sq ft. Another thing not mentioned here is the designing of your pieces. Unless you plan to hand draw everything, which is totally fine, it’s much better to have software like illustrator to make your designs and save them and mass produce if you decide to to. My overall experience has been great, it really is just making the time and having the patience. Your craft will only get better with time.

I am 63 and have been crafting for years. Started doing some leather work a few years ago, I use a ruler and fine pen to mark my holes and drill them with my drill press then hand stitch. I have made a few Renaissance pouches for my kids and knife sheaths. This kit would make it easier as I would someday love to have a machine when I retire and get more into it.

My mother took me to a leather craft class many many years ago. My brother and I received belts from santa claus that year..... Over the years her tools have found the black hole of lost goods. Watching these videos has brought back those good memories, the smell of damp leather, the thump of the hammer as it strikes the stamps, sitting at the vise and using files to shape nail heads into new leather stamps ..... Now that my wife and I are raising our grandchildren winning this kit would allow us to share the experience of leather crafting with them and see if they too find it as enjoyable as I did.
    Thank you

This is not bare minimum, trust me
I started leather craft about month ago, but i had done a lot of things in that time
I used a nail as stitching chisles (idk how to spell it correctly), i used a piese of cloth and bee wax to sharp the edges and so on. I dont have money right now to buy tools, but i will do it in the future definitely
But, btw, some people have already bought my "creations" and they are happy with everything (at least so far there are no negative reviews :) )
I wanted to show you, people, that you dont need expensive tools to start your hobby, if you WANT to
    Good luck to everyone!

The competition is probably over, but I'm 31, and for my 30th birthday, my uncle gave me a leather key holder that may grandfather made many years before I was born. When I was about 5 or 6, my grandfather got very sick, and for the next 10 to 12 years after that he was immobile and in and out of hospitals with dementia.
After getting the leather key holder, the smell of hand crafted leather flooded back all of these memories of him making bags, belts, and me watching him. I guess I'm wanting to get into leather work to remember the good times I had with him.

I haven't been able to buy any leather crafting tools that whole duration because I've been putting 100% of my income into paying off student loans so I can be out of debt, but my goal immediately after getting them paid is to buy leather craft tools like I have been wanting to for the past two years! Hello! I have never done leather craft before in my life, but this video is inspiring me. I go on two to three service trips every year with both my church and my school. Most often we go to third world countries (Mexico, Philippines, Columbia etc.) and build houses or water supply lines. These trips often cost upwards of $2,000 each, and most often I’m left to come up with that cash on my own. I’ve gotten really good at coming up with fundraising ideas, but I’m always looking for sustainable, cheap projects that provide actual value to the people who donate to me. This video has shown me how simple and affordable it is to create a high quality product that I think a lot of my friends would enjoy. I would hope to take this kit and master this specific wallet and then hopefully move on to more complex designs like bags and laptop folders. :) thanks for doing this btw it’s really cool of you to support your subscribers and people who are just starting out in leather craft.

I've been leather crafting for 4 days. I've made two items. A pen roll, and a wallet for my iPod. Really happy with them, but have learnt a lot immediately! Looking to expand the tool kit and also have tools in the different locations that I travel to and from regularly!
Thanks for the videos. Huge help.

I'm 16 and started leathercraft a few months ago and would like to win this tool set to start expanding my leather work. There's something about leather that just satisfies me and your videos have been a real inspiration and has helped me to get started. Thanks for another video, really looking forward to the next one.

It is good to develop skills with minimal, low quality tools. If you like leatherwork then, you will love it with each high quality item you purchase.
I made my first leather project in 1974 and used woodworking tools to do it. I do it as a hobby and only sell items at cost to friends. That supports my leather addiction and keeps the cost to a minimum. I do not want the tools but good luck and happy crafting to the lucky winner.

I need to be creative and that's my passion but I was blind to choose a path, at that point I came to see your videos. I became so fascinated on leather crafting and Google more about that, browse more videos on leather crafting and slowly I get started to do crafting. One of the challenges which I face was tools 😂 still facing. I made my first wallet by seeing your video, obviously your videos inspired me alot. I am making leather goods for six months with minimum tools. I am an Indian citizen, here I didn't find quality tools in markets. I am compromising alot in quality of my products, only because of tools. In amazon it seems excessive for me as a beginner so if I get this tools definitely it will be a turning point in my life.🥰 Thank you LKG

Thank you for this video. It’s really easy as someone with limited purchase power to get frustrated and give up. I’ve been there so many times before but luckily I’ve been able to very slowly build up some better tools. Thanks again for a bit of perspective.

Was super interested in leather crafting and I even took a few classes that was about two months! While it was really basic, I ended up making a leather backpack out of the things I learned!! I'd love to continue but it's definitely a pricier hobby, though, very rewarding! Been watching your videos and other leather videos or quite some time, and during this time of self-isolation, it'd be a great time to start!

I am new to leather craft. I’ve watched all your videos 2-3 times and made an Amazon list of things I need to start. I contacted Acadia leathers to get one of their “less nice looking” leather for a discount to start practicing. But that little kit would really help to start small (wallets, keychain, etc)

Loved it ! I'd love to get that little kit, since it has a lot of things that I could use. I've been dabbling in leather craft for a year or so now, but getting the money together to buy all that stuff has proven difficult (specially in my country), I have even made some videos. Thanks for sharing as always.

I just got into leather crafting around a month ago and Ive been enjoying it so for I’ve made a few wallets but they haven’t be very good. I don’t have many tools I’m using a fork a nail and a steel hammer to punch holes and it’s just not going as clean as I’d like. I think this kit would help me out making it easier to do. Would like to make my own line of wallets and belts and shoulder bags. Thanks for the awesome videos and stay safe in these dark time. Much love!!!

Great work man! I'm a wood crafter mostly now, but I did a little leather craft back in the day. I have been thinking about getting back into as I loved it when I worked in it before. I could make my own stitching pony pretty easily so this kit would be great! Then again, I could likely get it myself...so I hope someone who otherwise couldn't get it wins this. Keep up the great work man!

Very nice work! I recently just developed an interest in leather craft when I bought a leather notebook. I was frustrated with not having a place to store my fountain pen with the notebook and was looking all around on the internet to find a solution. I saw a really clever pen holder design and thought “you know what I could do this myself and get exactly what I want.” I also would like to make some nice items like the flap wallet you showed here for my kids so they can have something nice that was made with love. Great video and keep up the great work!

You were my intro into leathercraft. Seeing your videos got me inspired to get into this trade. I've been in it for a few months now and have been enjoying it a lot. I don't know if it's something you'd be interested in doing but I would appreciate it if you could show us how you sharpen your tools (edge bevelers, knifes, etc). I've seen multiple videos online but I would appreciate one from you because of the quality/detail you put into your videos.

Been thinking about learning and trying leathercraft as a way to do something I enjoy to make a secondary stream of income.
