  • The head of household exemption is one of the most common asset protection exemptions in Florida. The exemption is asserted as a defense to garnishment of a debtor’s wages. The exemption allows a judgment debtor to exempt their earnings from garnishment, including salary, wages, commissions, or bonus. The exemption is provided by section 222.11 of the Florida statutes.

    So it's only good for 6 months and then the garnishment starts again?
    Can you re file for another exemption? I'm confused. This does nothing except postpone the inevitable

    I filed the head of house hold exemption and Stop the garnishment and got all my money back. File it file it file it!!!!

      @@chrissycharlery7575 I printed the form off line and took it to the clerk of court and they filed it. About 2 weeks later I had a virtual count date and basically was asked a few questions and showed proof that I am head of household. It was easy.

      @@MsStory2011how long did it take to get your money back ? I have a hearing on the 8th but my paycheck is gonna be garnished on the 3rd smh
