hi! my name is rebecca, and i was a senior applying to college in this very, very strange 2020-2021 cycle. i applied as a computer science major at every school. i'm not sure what i was expecting out of this process, but it certainly wasn't what happened. i still can't really believe it's over now and that i'm going to college. watch till the end to find out where :))
i ended up applying to 15 schools this year: mit, caltech, columbia, cornell, upenn, unc-chapel hill (with the morehead-cain scholarship), cmu, uc berkeley, ucla, university of illinois urbana-champaign, boston university, northeastern, case western reserve, university of pittsburgh, and robert morris university. the past few months have been filled with ups and downs, but i'm so grateful for the support system i have around me, and i can't wait for what God has in store for me next.

Penn is a MUCH better place to go to school than Cornell or Columbia. I was there a year, at Columbia year, and know about Cornell. PENN IS AMAZING.

uiuc is a reach but northeastern isn't ?? so confused but congrats haha
hahaha uiuc’s computer science major is more selective than northeastern, hence the confusing categorization. i would’ve been going to uiuc if not for penn!! and thank youuu :))
UIUC is top 5 for CS and 1 for information sciences. The overall acceptance rate is high due it to the other colleges that has a higher acceptance, but most STEM based majors are pretty selective.
