  • Well, this is a 'glamp' camp. Not too far off the grid but have all the necessities for a comfortable night in the field in the Pomoly Hex Plus teepee hot tent with the Pomoly Altay Winter Edition stove. It may have only been -8 degrees Celsius outside but with the wind chill, it was -18. The wind was pounding at times and being in a wide open field it was pulling some of the heat away. If only I had snow to put on top of the snow skirt to hold more of the heat within. I had both the hot stove and diesel heater along with me. I could only seem to attain a top temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. This video is slightly longer than the others as I usually try to keep them around a half hour. A delicious meal was prepared and fun was had with Shadow and myself. I hope you enjoyed the video and I will keep striving to make them better each and every time. I am not perfect but I am trying. The winds even with the dead cat were no match for the wind. I used software to remove the wind noise which only marginally helped and sadly ended up echoey. A contribution to a Bluetooth microphone that you can attach to the inside of your coat to reduce wind noise.

      You could ask Jeremy at Lone Wolf 902 for advice. I don't even own a cellphone.@@BlueSea_72

      So in regards to my sound, is it the whole video or just when I’m outside?

    I'm also interested in the altay stove that you have...I think a rolled stove pipe is a disaster waiting to happen so I applaud your use of the stove pipe sections...since the price of the stove and the replacement stove pipe sections is fairly high I'm concerned with the warping that you have experienced...is the warping just minor or fairly extensive?

      Even being titanium, these stores will always warp. You can’t help it with the high heat you have in them, but mine has some like dips on the top and some bumps in the bottom but by no means does it affect the use of the stove it just more aesthetics.

      @@BlueSea_72 by all means correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the cost of the altay plus the accessories that you have is about $800...do you believe the stove is worth that much??

      @@steveolesen8033 yeah I think the stoves are worth it. They are expensive but I mean they’re titanium they light they’re easy to take around in the woods, but yeah, especially being in Canadian expensive as hell.

    Stupid question: I've noticed that there are alot of wrinkles in the fabric of the tent once you have it pitched...I totally understand that it comes from packaging...my question is do the wrinkles disappear after a period of time being pitched or are they constantly there?

    • @BlueSea_72
      @BlueSea_72  Pƙed 6 měsĂci

      Yup the fabric will relax and some but not all wrinkles will disappear. My canvas wall tent is like that. It’s takes awhile to relax and it seems like it drink until gravity pulls it down and it relaxes

    I've never seen in a Bushcraft video. How do you treat bodily functions in the wild? Do you bury your poop or do you leave it on the surface?

      I enjoyed your content because I'm interested in either the hussar plus or the hex plus tent with the ground sheet...however I would definitely recommend a sound upgrade

      I love my hex plus but of all my Pomoly tents it’s the hardest to get really hot. I had it up to 20 degrees Celsius and it was -8 with a -18 windchill. Now I had no snow to cover the skirts which would have helped. I think the hussar is pretty much the same design but different material if I remember correctly. Compare the two fabrics and design to the area you will be using it. Ask me more questions if you need more help. In regards to sound I am using Rode mics. I could not compete with the wind outside. I play my videos back and even tried filters fie the noise outside as you can tell but only helped a little. You can tell the difference inside
