Literally!! At work the other day I wore a black turtle neck, jeans, and booties. The girlies in the office was hating they said “why she so dressed up? Who is that in the black leather jacket?” Like baby I’m sorry you think a turtle neck and jeans is “dressed up”

It’s me sis...I’m that “overdressed” person in the office.lol...but my mom always told me that you should look presentable wherever you go and dress for the position you want, you never know who you will run into. You look good, you feel good and for me it motivates productivity. So nope I don’t even go in Walmart or Dollar Tree with a bonnet on and house shoes, call me bougie or whateva (Bourgeois)...Go awf with the outfits though girl, you’re my style inspiration!

I love the way you put it down about dressing for yourself and feeling good about yourself.....I have coworkers who always say I’m not dressing up for these people....my mother raised me and my siblings that you look your best stepping out in public and do it for yourself and not others and it makes you feel good and important.

I think the easiest thing to do is get things tailored. You can buy jeans/trousers that skim your thighs and have the waist taken in. I personally am not a blazer girl but I use cardigans in the same way most people use blazers. Knowing what vibe you want to give off matters as well. I don’t like to look overly polished so I mix my classic pieces with more causal things. My vibe is put together but relaxed/approachable (at least I hope that’s what I look like lol).
Nice casual work fits. I never thought about H&M for work wear. When I was working in the banking world I always got my slacks, sweaters, and blouses from New York & Company. Thanks for sharing 💕

Dress for the occasion. Dress for yourself. Not always but you can tell of first impression. I have to watch that. But most times people tell all just how they handle theirselves. People take me wrong way always. I take pride in my appearance. Even more past five+ years. Hair makeup clothing is key. I be shopping at Goodwill they be thinking I'm stuck up. Mix clothing mall2. You find good 2nd hand items though.
