Hoping there is work wear outfit that looks good with a backpack. Never seen someone did a work wear outfit with backpack. I walk 20mins to public transport, carries work laptop, lunchbox, water bottle and other daily stuff. I always find the backpack ruins the whole outfit but carrying a side bag is not practical with all those weights.
Perhaps you should look for some different kind of back pack? I wear black backpack with this roll-up top, it looks casual, but not sporty, and it blends nicely with my coats. Ofc it doesn't look as elegant as if I wear just a handbag, but it's just for commute, I'm not carring backpack around the office and for meetings (I carry also small crossbody handbag with all the essentials)
I recently got a Stackers backpack for work and it looks great. Fits my laptop, lunch box and everything else I need.
@@bachba1086 I do have a casual black backpack that's not sporty but with some outfit it just doesn't look good so I think having a video for what outfit works for backpack would be good and can get inspirations. I don't walk around in the office with a backpack but I do walk around in the city after work or meet up with friends for dinner, so I think it still matters.

Although i generally agree with your advice, I want to point that most office spaces are really warm, therefore chunky knits are actually impossible to wear. Layering is the name of the game and i would love some practical advice about how to do it in a classy way.
well, this year this will probably come in handy ;).... I guess it depends on office really, mine was never very warm, esspecially on those autumn months, when it is not very cold outside, so the radiators were keep rather cold - I had to put wool trausers, chunky kneets and winter shoes to be warm.

@@anthia1156 my friends told me that in their offices they will have set temperature at around 19°C, due to possible power shortage in winter. I don't know if my office will also apply this approach, but they informed us that they will have to reduce usage of power by 10% (at everyting - elecricity and heat)

hi lydia!! first of all, i love watching your videos. i just wanted to ask if you could do a video on styling all-black outfits. i recently lost my dad, and in my culture, when someone passes away, the immediate family wears black for the first 6 months and then black and white for the rest of the first year. it’s usually okay to wear dark denim or faded blacks but it’s just hard to not look like you’re wearing the same outfit all the time. maybe you’d have some creative ideas? (also the color does not apply to accessories)
my condolences 💐 sending all the best to you and your family. what comes to my mind when thinking of all black is to play with different textures. think leather, tight vs loose types of knits, silk, cotton and if jewelry is allowed accessorize with that ❤️

I have been watching your videos for around a month now and I saw a big change in the way I dress. I revamped my wardrobe and bought functional pieces that make me look so nice thanks to the knowledge you share here!
One thing though, which always saddens me a bit, is that you tend to promote bags and clothes that are really not affordable at all even when there is a code discount. I feel a bit excluded as there is no way for me (and I suppose many of us) to get our hands on a nice product, because it's extremely expensive.
One suggestion from my side would be that you could share with us more affordable products that are still well-made and meant to last.

As for the bag - it is a lovely bag. However (it is not your fault, of course) - bag designers often suggest wonderful bags with only one turn off: no zipper, so the bag is sort of opened. It does not work for me at all: we have very strong winds here (whatever is in my bag without the lock will be out) and as I use public transport sometimes, do not feel comfortable to have bag without good lock. The rest of this bag is just perfect, like the size and the shape. Thank you!

I feel like the first outfit with the white shirt with puffy sleeves and the trousers would be perfect for that. With the black socks and loafers. Add the blazer if it’s cool. I think that would look wonderful!! But I am also curious to know Lydia’s suggestions 😊

Oh yes that's such a tricky one! Totally agree with Ronnie-Lynn in that a really nice puff sleeve blouse is a good idea (maybe not white). Or maybe you could do something like a blazer, satin midi skirt and comfortable knee boots or even smart trainers as I think people will understand that you're running around and need comfort, as long as the rest of your outfit is smart! Or perhaps a nice loose fitting midi dress with flat knee or ankle boots (you could do a smart knitted dress too and just add some jewellery). I think the main thing is to keep your feet comfy and then contrast that with something smarter on top!

Wool and cashmere, also leather
I would swith cotton for wool, but it depends what is your climat and what is your comfort temperature. I love cotton jumpers early autumn, late sprong, but for winter, except those particularly warm days, cotton is to cold for me.

I appreciate this video because guess what??? Everyone does not work from home! We have a dress code too...and NO JEANS IR TENNIS SHOES 👟. Mercy. I had a really hard time finding clothes that were appropriate for the office. Finally one saleslady said many people don't want to wear semi-formal clothes. Well, what if you have no choice?! We all can't be in Sweats, yoga pants and PJs.

I noticed in most of your videos when you're wearing trousers, you often pull the trousers up several times during the cut-aways. Do you usually get them a size bigger? Perhaps for comfort or that oversized feel? Does it bother you when you constantly have to pull them up when you're walking? I'm asking because with weight fluctuations, I often end up having looser trousers but don't want to take them to the tailor for those times when I do gain weight (the holidays are winking at me).

It really upsets me that all these bags have no security whatsoever! Anyone can just stick their hands into it! Who comes up with these ridiculous concepts. I guess extremely rich people who don’t mind losing or being robbed of their items.
I guess it also depends where you are though. Is petty theft a big issue in the UK? I know I worry about my stuff in certain environments more than others. I'd commute to work with a bag like this without batting an eye in Tokyo or Toronto for example though I'd probably prefer a flap or zip for rain/snow more than theft.
@@n.b.3521 Well I have lived in very safe towns in Europe and you still need to be concerned, not only that if you are driving or on a bus or train and accidentally drop your bad all the contents fall to the floor. Just does not seem logical to me that a bad does not have a zipper also annoys me that they don’t have at least three inner pockets: one for glasses, one for cell phone and another for wallet.
