    A well presented overview - I now better understand what can be expected of Beacons and what the potential of Geofencing may be to my business. Would you be able to post a link to your proprietary platform, assuming you're in this commercially ?

      We do not work with a specific beacon platform. Our work is catered to geofencing a location and running programmatic ads to devices that enter the fenced areas. ContentFIrst.Marketing

    Thanks for the great video! I have 2 questions. 1. What is more expensive, beacons or geofencing, and, 2, how much should we expect to pay for each? Thanks in advance for taking my question.

    • @johnarnott6960
      @johnarnott6960  Před 3 lety

      Typically you will spend more on Beacon technology. As far as how much on each, that varies widely. The best best would be to get some quotes in your geography.

    • @johnarnott6960
      @johnarnott6960  Před rokem

      Beacons can be complex. There are many options. Start by searching for In-store beacons and from there you can expand.

    Hi;
    Let's say there's a mall / shopping complex with many retail outlets with Geo-Fencing implemented. It's busy season, customers are flocking stores and the technology is working as intended (weather tracking footfalls or conversions).
    Questions is:
    Who essentially gets to own the geo-fence?
    The Retail outlets or the owner / management of the shopping complex?
    Or can it be done by a third party company like say a finance tracking app or a digital wallet payment gateway app who want to use Geo-Fencing in a mall so they can either drive retail footfalls and give rewards to customers like points etc?
    If it's option two (third party) can the Mall Owners file a lawsuit and claim ownership because a third party has built a "Geo-Fence" to track it's customers around it's own property albeit virtually?

    • @johnarnott6960
      @johnarnott6960  Před 2 lety

      The beacon ownership can be either. However, you can also Geofence to programmatic ads without beacons. This would be based on the location of the store.

      @@johnarnott6960 You haven't answered the question completely.

    • @Wael.h
      @Wael.h Před 2 lety

      You must be talking about proximity marketing and specifically in the indoor spaces since you mentioned shopping mall with many retail outlets so the concept of geo fence does not apply here. Then to capture or target the footfools you certainly require an app, it can be either a 3rd party app such as offering app, retailer app or shopping mall app- this app should be fed with indoor location-data ( the data points or points of interest) that usually are beacons, ssid, or any other sigital noise in the place depending on the technology the app is using to know the indoor location.
      beacons are the most convenient way and easiest to implement however, the ownship here is with the owner of the location ( where the beacon is located) and ofcourse the app that beacons location will be fed into.
      Now in case of conquesting mostly ssid/MAC is used to detect the location ( competition, or so) .

    Hey John, it's there ANY providers of 2 location geotargeting, as an example I want to target consumers who have triggered/entered 2 geofenced locations, so those who entered location 1 only would not see my ads, those who entered location 2 would not see my ads, but those who had entered BOTH location 1 AND location 2 would see my ads

  • @Johncalonso

    So the only way I can prevent a gross invasion my privacy and unwanted add targeting is to blanket disable location services for all my apps.
    I as a user should not have my identity and location captured.

    I have done radio spots, newspapers, email blasts, and even investigated geo fencing. Tell me about pushing items to phones without having to have the people opt in? Do you have a website to contact you through?

    • @johnarnott6960
      @johnarnott6960  Před 2 lety +1

      The only way to push to phones directly is to have an app installed and beacons. For example, the starbucks app sends a notification when you are near a starbucks. Other than that, you can use programmatic ads with a geofence, but that is not the same as a push notification.

    I have what to do list in a tourist city people are visiting. Most of the tourists all are heading to a area that’s within 1-2 miles (the geofence area). I want to drive them to a landing page with a video that sells a download list for .99 I’d like to use geofencing. Can you give me your thoughts? Potentially advise how to put it all together?

    • @johnarnott6960

      Hi James, my first reaction is the financial model. If the item you are selling is only $1, then it would be hard to justify the costs. Do you have larger upsells down the funnel that can make it worth the effort?
