    Great video, should help me get started on the right foot.
    We're a small business (10-ish employees) with about 4 million dollars in revenue, and we're taking money that is being used for radio and tv and using it for online ads to generate leads. I do have a couple of quick questions for you, if I may:
    - Would you suggest the ad(s) to point towards our website, our facebook page, or a landing page that's ad-specific?
    - We have two main competitors in our area: what's the best way to target either people that have looked at their website, or even better, that have been to their showrooms? The latter would be the most important for us at this point I think as one of the two has very high traffic. They're also in a remote/industrial area so it would be quite easy to target.
    Cheers!

    Good video Mike. I couldn't agree more with making sure the location setting has "people in" and not interested in the location, especially if you are in a major metro area. Another major money suck is the foreign zip codes that are identical to US zip codes. Catch those or waste dollars. Question what Google Recommends.

    Superb Video Mike.. i was so confused with Location Targeting. Just a quick query - Instead of selecting an entire state / city do we need to breakdown the locations into pincodes so as to find the best performing pincode locations and then expand? Thanks in advance

      If you break it down into Zip Codes, when it comes time to optimize for locations, you can just bid down or delete an existing zip code that is wasting money. It's the right way to do it. Thanks for watching!

    Great video Mike. I've 2 questions.
    1. The desired pockets can only be identified after getting some data right? Especially for an online business where customers don't necessarily have to prefer a nearby local business?
    2. How do you suggest these pockets can be found for an online business?

    • @MikeMancini
      @MikeMancini  Před 2 lety +1

      Yep... it's all about gathering the data. You simply have to spend in pockets and look for the right area. Come up with parameters that you can spend "X" amount in a certain area and if it's not performing up to a certain standard, you move on. But start with a state (not necessairly a city). You will find that pockets inside of that state will use a majority of the budget.... see how it performs and evaluate to keep spending there or move on. It's all one big test.

    • @SHABSOL
      @SHABSOL Před 2 lety

    I think this is not easy to target "all other countries than my own country", but for all with interest in this city/airport, or other citizenships already in town.
    I tried the option you showed to target people "regulary in or show interest.". I do not see other locations, from other countries clicking. It is a bit opposite your case here, or what?

    What would you do in a situation where you have a regional campaign that covers several areas and want to show a different local phone number based on the targeted locations?
    Do you really have to split the locations out by campaign or ad group? It doesn't look like the call extension setup has any specification of certain location targets among all those in the campaign that has the ad.
    Wishful thinking: perhaps Google intuitively looks at the assets area code and user location to algorithmically pick the right extensions from several?

      They give you those warnings if your ads that you're running are related to housing and other socio economic factors where you may be trying to target a certain area (think lower income). They do this to keep predatory lenders (types of businesses like that) from preying on people. However, if you're not targeting those areas, you can simply ignore them and you should be able to continue.

    In Google Ads location on the map, what does the numbers in a circle means?

  • @loveempowermentclinic

    Thanks a lot!
    What if I'm looking for online clients for psychotherapy? I live in Sydney but I can target anyone who speaks English in the world. I wanted to start small but I don't know how small to start. Only Sydney or Australia? I want to expand eventually to hire more providers.

    Thank you for adding info about clicking from different parts of the world. I had no idea that it was from my ad words, I thought it was hackers to my website! I have a question about Locations for different states. I had set up two Ad word accounts because I thought I couldn't keep the two separate! Am I confusing google ad words, and should I just have one account?

      Just have ONE Google ads account and then you would have 2 campaigns (one for each state).

    Thanks for this video. So I am running an ad and it shows Neighborhoods at the end of the ad. The neighborhoods are counties that are in Pennsylvania, where I used to live. I now live and am advertising in Florida. I cannot figure out where this is coming from. Thank you for your time.

    Isn't Google going to be doing away with zip code targeting for ads involving credit/income?

    can this also be done with promoting a particular youtube video ad?

      Yes, but that will be a video campaign rather than a search campaign.
