God no! Even with the safety of F1 now, the Nordschleife is barely fit to run GT races let alone F1 races. It's a cool hypothetical but a bad idea.

The Porsche could have gone way faster, it was a rather conservative lap with average track conditions. 10 seconds faster would've been possible

Ok, but the Porsche didn't have to conform to a set of regs. The RB did that time whilst being hamstrung by all the F1 regs designed to slow them down. For fairness, we should have an F1 Evo and that would make the 919 look like it was broken.
@@pigeonpoo1823yes but the driver in the 919 said that in some corners he almost passed out it would be interesting to see an f1 car with no regs and the 919evo with a driver who can push it to the absolut limit

My only concern is that Seb survives the lap, the nürburgring (and the nordschleife especially) is very unforgiving to both experienced and inexperienced drivers...and i can only pray we don't end up with another Peter Collins, Beaufort or John Taylor incident
Its a simulation, you can relax lol. Plus even if he was to do it, he was one of the best F1 drivers of all time. Were all aware the track is dangerous, but many of those deaths came during years where there wasnt nearly as many safety precautions as todays F1 cars. Just the Halo alone could have saved a ton of deaths in the tracks history. Regardless, it is an extremely dangerous track, but I think youre extremely underestimating the talent of a modern F1 driver.

It's gonna be a showrun, I can assure you his lap will be well over a minute slower than the car's potential, don't think he will get to 300 km/h either. Heidfield and Schumacher have done showruns here in the past with modern F1 machinery, Vettel won't go much faster than them

The 919 lap was rather conservative, you don't wanna go head on into a guardrail 360 km/h. Those could go under 5 min

You would struggle to get under 5 min in a current car, not possible with an 12-year old car

@@THEWINDTUNNEL the porsche 919 evo hybrid should be able to do around 4:50 time if conditions are perfect. that is according to simulations, probably going to be in the high 50s if they tried it again with better conditions and a better driver
