Cheers Tam, that would have been a slog on foot for sure. It’s the bike all day long for me on hikes like that. That is a smashing wee bothy.👍
      Cheers mate,
      Frank👍🏔🥾

Great video. In spite of it not being your typical breathtaking Scottish mountain day I actually really like Beinn Dearg Blair Atholl. I did the whole walk on foot, bikeless, up past the military training area and back down by Allt Sheachachan. Bridge of Tilt is a beautiful place and you see down to the picturesque glen going past the military training area. Gradual but long ascent; covered the distance pretty quickly due to the nature of the walk - tarmac and not steep. Think I was back over an hour quicker than I had estimated, comparatively little variation for Naismith's.

Thanks for the comment👍 yeh I love that part of Scotland as well, such beauty. That’s just too long a walk for me when I can take the bike. Lovely wee bothy along the way.

Did that route a year or to ago while my husband did a long circuit on his bike(I was walking. ) Really enjoyed it, the bothy is lovely. Finished by torchlight, it was October. That last section in the wood is confusing, I also consulted my gps. Thanks for video.

Hi Jennifer, thankyou for watching & commenting, it certainly is a long walk for sure. The bothy is lovely and wouldn’t mind spending a night in it.
I can see why you would get confused back at the woods if you were there by torchlight.
      Thanks again,
      Frank.

Nice wee trip Frank…you need to get those brakes fixed I thought you were going to ditch it on the way back🥴. Looked like a nice wee bothy for an overnight trip. Nice drone shots and great audio again! I will definitely take the bike to this one! Great wee video Frank! Paulo 👍👍👍

Cheers Paul, defo take the bike for this one as it’s a long long way to the foot of the mountain, the wee bothy is lovely and would make an excellent overnight stay.
Yip was quite scary at times on return journey, brakes will defo be sorted for next outing.
      Cheers mate.👍👍

Glad you got views from the summit of this remote hill Frank after your early start. 👍 The June weather been mixed with a lot of windy days. More great drone footage too. You'll need to get your brakes fixed for the next trip! ATB Derek

Thanks Derek, weather was looking grim as I headed for the munro but thankfully it cleared nicely for me arriving at the summit, was very cold and windy at the summit, typical June weather. Brakes are sorted now Derek, few squeaky bum moments on the way down.
      Thanks again,
      Frank.👍🏔🥾

U made a lot of the same decisions I did Frank when i done this.😃👍
Took my bike, pushed it 95% of the way in to save leg muscles, went by the bothy and left bike same place as you incase I done the circular and like you returned the same way. What a cracking freewheel out.🤣🤣🚴‍♂️👍.
I had to get a new bike after my 1st couple of bike/hikes as it was an old one and it didn't feel safe.Really important to have good brakes Frank.Done a few bike hikes further up north("Cheesecake",2 Sgurrs and Maoile Lunndaidh)where the descent paths were really steep and would have came a cropper unless my brakes were good.
Ur getting through them now pal.😃👍

Cheers Andy, brakes are sorted now and ditched the pair of knickers I was wearing that day, yeh I decided to come back down same way to get lunch at the wee bothy and an easier free wheel down as well.my bikes a bit done in but got in for nothing so I’ll keep it for the time being.
Just back from the cairngorms today Andy, my hardest hike yet, did Beinn Mheadhoin via the Fiacall Ridge. Started off sunny but windy then as we were ascending the munro the clag came in. 60mph winds with driving rain and no viz at all for the rest off the day. Some hike in those conditions. And oh. I forgot my waterproof trs.🤣🤣
      Cheers mate.

Cracking video Frank, it's days like this with huge distances to cover where the bike really comes into it's own. You actually look forward to getting back to the bike and the fast ride back to the car. All the best, Davie.

Hi Davie, yeh I didn’t mind pushing it up most of the way as it was fantastic on the way home, and I took your advice on wearing the helmet😃👍

Get those brake sorted Frank lol. Loving the big bottle of Orange Lucozade. Love that stuff! I have had plenty of audio not recording moments too so it’s not just you. Will text you Friday re Saturday. 👍

Cheers Andrew, yip brakes will defo be sorted for my next bike outing. Yeh I love the orange lucozade. Think I had just forgotten to switch the audio on at that point, really impressed with the audio now in those conditions and gluing the furry sock onto the mic has done the trick. Look forward to hearing from you.

@@hikingwithfrank315 I might do that and glue it on. I can be very lazy and sometimes don’t bother with it and audio is terrible. I don’t like faff and it can be a faff sometimes. See you Saturday 👍

Nice one Frank. Good of the cloud to lift a bit as you got up to the top, and provide some views. Did you find the wee tripod? Might be worth asking on the walkhighlands lost and found forum. Cheers, Andy.

Cheers Andy, yeh I thought I wasn’t going to get any views but clouds cleared just in time.👍
Nice views from up there although cold.
I ended up just buying another wee tripod Andy, I need to be more careful with my gear.
      Cheers,
