He also allegedly agreed not to perform body shots. Head shots at low power would look rough but not guarantee a KO, whereas a well placed liver shot or busted ribs is almost 100% a quick finish. Respect to Strickland if that's the case.

I had this lesson with my Dad at 16 when I told him I could take him in a fight. He presented his face and said, "I'll give you one free shot", so I threw a punch as hard as I could. He stood up and proceeded to snap kick me directly in the chest and said, "Did you learn a lesson today?" as I lay in a ball on the floor.

@erick3755 man I did boxing training with a retired pro boxer at around 16. He was legit and he was also my welding teacher. After a while we got in the ring and he was teaching us to spar but also smelt cigs on us. He told me go ahead hit me as hard as you can and poked his jaw out. I crow hopped and swung as hard as I could. He shook his head and smiled and proceeded to use my face as a speed bag not hard jabs, but just make you mad. Teaches you of being in that position where you 1000% know you can't do anything or stop this, then learn how to handle it.

Difference in weight would be one of the biggest factors.
Plus this was not even “sparring” and at least for boxers they have to register their hands as they are considered a lethal weapon. If ufc doesn’t then I come to question the professionalism in the sport.

Great analysis man, people were clearly confused about one thing regarding all of this: Sean was trying to hurt Sneako, it's fairly obvious, but he did not try his hardest like you said. I thought it was damn obvious too, he has not using all of his power and he could have delivered more devastating shots for sure, it could have been worse. Much worse

3. Sean handicapped himself by agreeing to no body blows

What you need to know about Sean is that his first experience with MMA as a teen is the same as his "sparring" with Sneako. Dude walked in to an MMA gym got beat up badly and came out happier than ever before. Only difference is Sneako probably won't improve from the beating seeing he's still bullying Mikey.

When I was a teenager, one of my friends brought some gloves to our local gym. We did what teenagers do with gloves and beat the shit out of each other. Ehh, stepping in there with a professional fighter as an influencer, you deserve to get beat. They’re only in there to use the fighter’s status to generate views. They have no place being there, they’re taking advantage of the fighter but no one cares. Now the fighter reminds them of who they are, where they are and who they are in there with, people all of a sudden think they should hold back because they’re only an influencer. They’re a leech on any combat sport after Connor’s big pay day, and props to him, he found the gap, the rest are shit replicas.
He equates pain with love. His mind is all screwed up by whoever beat him. I know guys like this and I am almost one of them. He won't last long like this. But he'll give it a go and more power to him.
I've seen clips of him saying he wants to kill people, and not in am exaggerated way, legit murder. He's gor a lot of shit going in but has to "be a man" and can't let any of that out. I could see him going and looking for a fight after that Theo Von interview to get back his manliness. Wouldn't be surprised to see a headline about a murder suicide about him in a few years. Mike Tyson, George Foreman, Deontay Wilder; just 3 examples of fighters who expressed a genuine desire to kill someone in the ring. And these are just guys who have been open about it, you can be assured that there are plenty more.

My biggest problem is they gave him an option to not wear headgear. He definitely should’ve been required to wear headgear.
Headgear is meant to protect against cuts, i don’t think it woulda made too much a difference
From my understanding, headgear protects against friction damage eg cuts. It does nearly nothing to physical blows as the momentum still has to go somewhere
The others repliers beat me too it but they’re right, it’s only for cuts and sometimes gives people the illusion they can get hit and be okay. Fighters use it bc they don’t want cuts close to a fight where they could potentially re open
