  • In refuting the modern day western mindset which forces in the Prescriptive Monogamy concept, Mike Allen methodically debunks some of the common objections people have against the practice of polygamy. By demonstrating Biblically, statistically and logically, he reveals how these arguments are unfounded. In defense of Biblical Marriage, Mike’s goal is to restore within the society’s cultural mindset God’s intended purpose for marriage. Particularly, as it relates to the plural marriage practice of a man having multiple wives.

I can't find the source confirming low divorce rates in polygamous cultures. If anyone could share, It would be a huge help. Thanks a lot

Thanks for your query Brother! It’s not just that the divorce rates within polygamous cultures are low, it’s that they tend to be lower than prescriptive monogamous cultures when compared. A simple comparison of the number of divorces filed within nations around the world, you’ll find that the nations with the highest numbers are those that prohibit polygyny. However, there has been a recent trending increase of divorce filed within polygynous nations, of late, due to westernization and organizational influences. A Psychology Today article, said it this:
“Because of economic development, the growing numbers of women in the workforce, and higher rates of education, more and more people around the world can afford to divorce. They have the skills, the knowledge, and the resources to support themselves outside of marriage. Because of the world-wide dissemination of norms and values that maintain that humans should have rights and choices, and that men and women should have equal control over their own destinies, more and more people take seriously the option to divorce.”
      (www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/living-single/201902/divorce-rates-around-the-world-love-story). Also, see (insidearabia.com/divorce-arab-gulf-sign-chhanging-times/)
As for a simple look for comparison of the global rates, here’s a link you can start with to see that although Polygynous nations are rising in filing divorce proceedings, it is not the non polygynous nations that are leading overall on divorce rates:
      (worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/divorce-rates-by-country)
To sum this all up, although divorce rates are now starting to rise even within polygynous practicing nations, it is the prescriptive monogamous nations that tend to have the highest rates. However, these rising numbers within polygynous practicing nations are not due to the culture of polygyny, per se, but western influences on roles between men and women within the home. Hopefully, this helps.

    i got a few question
it would be great if you can explain how a successful polygnist union functions.
should each wife have her own house
or should they all be sleeping under 1 roof
once i find a woman that i desire to have to be my wife, how do i convince her to to be ok with the fact that i desire multiple wives?
you know the typical modern day woman is jealous and im weary that they would all disagree with it and run off quick.
    Idk how to handle this.
should i move to a country where polygny is understood and accepted
or should i have to settle for 1 wife cause of the fear that every woman i approach will refuse to be with me cause i tell her upfront that im a polygnist?

      Great questions?
On whether each wife should have her own house, I say that only depends on the husband and the type of structure he decides to set up. Polygyny is practiced within many cultures, therefore it varies. Some women are more culturally adept to having their own space than others. Therefore, on this point it depends on the woman. However, at the end of the day, polygyny is man centered, so once again, it depends on the man. Finally, I highly suggest you subscribe to Hondo Solomon’s channel if you haven’t so far and get his book, Polygamous Papers - An Introduction to Polygamous Culture and Its Principles, Pitfalls, and Ethics.
On convincing your wife, your best option is to tell your potential wife that you believe in and will practice polygyny. Period! That way she knows from the gate where you intend on taking the marriage. It is alway easier for a woman to process and accept it if hit with it from the beginning. And if you already have a woman, you need to get past the hesitation and just tell her where you plan on taking the marriage. Now that’s a decision you need to prepare for if whatever the backlash! You may have to be willing to her that you are willing to leave if she’s not with it. Also, you need to be equipped physically, mentally and spiritually and definitely financially to make whatever moves you need to make, either way. Whether she be with it or not.
And no, I don’t think you necessarily would have to go outside the country. Believe it or not, there are women here that would be willing, although many would not be willing to stomach it. And no you need not be weary. God told Joshua in Joshua 1, “7Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Well since you say that, “It wasn’t approved,” then:
•Why did The Angel of The Lord command Hagar to go back to her polygamist household in Genesis 16:9?
•Why did God command wives in Israel to be subjected to their husbands who He authorized, giving them permission to do so according to Exodus 21:7-11, and why even regulate such practice if He was so against it? Why not just prohibit it outright?
•Why did God bless, give and set up the circumstances for Jacob to have 4 wives through which he produced 12 tribes and the great nation of Israel according to Genesis 33:1-7; 29:31-35; 30:6,17-20,22-24?
•Why did the elders and people of Israel also recognize, centuries later, that it was God Who decided to prosper Jacob’s wives by building the House of Israel according to Ruth 4:11?
•Why did God say that it was He Who gave David the approximate 7 wives he had and if David wanted more, God would have given him more according to 2 Samuel 12:7-8?
•Why did God put Queen Esther into a position of being a polygamous’ wife in order to save Israel according to Esther 2:7-18; 4:13-14 if He did not approve of its practice?
Preston, what Biblical proof do you have that suggests that God did not approve polygamy?

Consider the role and way of life of every woman mentioned in the Bible and then compare it to how the modern woman lives. After examining them both thoroughly it will become clear which is the proper biblical way for a woman to live. Fast and pray on it and ask if it's really for you also, it's not wise to much such huge life altering decisions without the guidance of the Ruach.

Yes Brother, I am familiar with Solomon. Yes he had 700 wives, plus 300 concubines. Altogether that computes to 1000 wives. However, according to vs. 1-13 in Chapter 11, what exactly was the reason God was angered towards Solomon? Was it because of his 1k wives, or was it for something else?

But to desire a woman simply based on their outward appearance is young man foolishness. Just because that lust is mentioned in the Bible does not make it righteous or Godly. The many wives of Solomon turned his heart away from God, because his insatiable new flesh lust out did his wisdom and love for God. And Solomon loved none of those females. God manifests himself in deep love a man and woman has for one another that is not easy or even likely without God. Like most men TODAY, you have some maturity and wisdom to attain that must be above what was common during Biblical days, to justify polygyny today.
