Watching your videos inspired me to gradually start switching my (still incredibly small) portfolio to mainly dividend based. Today I earned £3.49 in dividend income from one stock.and I am SO happy! It's not even enough to buy a coffee but until now my biggest payout was 21p 😂 I can only hope that I can stick at it like you did for so long and build it more.
Thank you for being my inspiration ❤
Love this! We all start somewhere 💜
I have a couple of companies paying monthly dividends. A couple of companies paying dividends every 6 months. I have quite a few companies, L&G included paying dividends every 3 months. I wouldn't necessarily compare months with dividends. Its more an annual thing to compare. Fun and exciting though getting those dividends come in regularly.
I got some nice dividends in September! It's usually my biggest month! :)
It’s one of my biggest too ☺️
Great video, keep going! You’ll get to Disney land soon! :)
September is always a great month for dividends :)
It seems to be!
I need a really dumbed down explanation of dividends and investing as a complete beginner with no knowledge, just inspired by your videos :)
I’ve got a course to do at some point all about it ☺️
When a company makes a profit they share that profit out with the people who own shares. Some companies don’t pay a dividend as they re-invest profits to grow the business.
Thank you for posting these videos - I have started investing in shares thanks to your chanel. I currently have a tiny holding but i suppose every journey starts with a single step!
We all start somewhere ☺️ keep me updated on your progress!
Keep going :) you can do this
Nicola, when you started your dividend investment journey in 2016 with an end goal that is no longer the same today, it should be VERY reassuring to know that those smart money moves were not in vain!! Maybe you've heard the saying, "your future self will thank you". Maybe you said it yourself in 2016 or 2017 or 2018 as you were building your portfolio and had funds to invest. Great news: it wasn't in vain! Your 2023 self thanks you (and pays some bills)!!! You should definitely give yourself a hug for that! High five. AWESOME dividend month. Heidi in Vancouver, BC Canada
That’s a great comment, thank you 😍
Celebrate all the little wins...
Absolutely!
Hi Nicola do you choose your shares in the isa? Can you do a managed one I'm not sure I trust myself to buy right!
I think you can do managed ones, though they tend to be more expensive 😕
Very nice
Do you have a video on how much you have invested?
Pleased you can access some of the dividends to assist at this time when it’s difficult - i know people often say future me will thank past me for decisions made so it’s good that something you did in the past helps you pay the bills now. I’ve also had abrdn and Lloyds divis recently - somehow it feels like ‘free’ money even though it’s not 😊. All the best getting things sorted so you know where you are.
Thank you ☺️
Hi Nicola, this is so inspiring! How many years have you been investing to get to this point? :)
Thank you! I started in 2016 :)
Do you have vanguard s&p 500 ?
No, I don’t
