Tell me about it. Damn main campaign is basically unplayable due to most of the mission objectives being in Downtown Boston.

@@Viper-jl1wb when u say that is it like a crash where it doesn’t take u to the Home Screen, but it just actually freezes? I’ve been dealing with that ever since I got fallout on my series s. Which is weird cause I don’t remember fallout doing that on my Xbox one

I can go through Boston completely fine modded and vanilla on both the original Xbox One and PC (I play with a lot of mods too)
As someone with a 430+ mod list, (that I JUST finished) I pray that this update is worth the year of pain that’s in store for me.
Be sure to backup your executable file, just in case.
remain in offline mode & avoid updates until others have tested the waters.

AYUP - at least half of the 'must have' mods will completely break, and since many of the Mod-authors have moved on, we are in for one helluva mess. Thanks Todd.
I'm personally going to wait for as many mods to be updated as possible before I update my game. If you set the game to not update unless you launch in steam, you can still use FSSE it will not update (afaik). Also, backup your game just in case you need to roll it back.
So is it going to be like a Skyrim Anniversary edition thing where we buy the update and add all the old stuff?

Probably, no new Fallout (Bethesda made at least) for another 10 or so years and they refuse to remaster any game made before 2010 for some reason

tbh, i don't see a problem with keeping old games relevant (there's the halo mcc for example), but they need to give the same treatment with f3/nv. It shouldn't be full price though.

In fact I'd put New Vegas at the top, 3 second. Fallout two third, and fallout one as forth.
It is likely to be more like Anniversary upgrade than a Special Edition.
SSE switched to a much updated Creation Engine that is more similar to what FO4 is built on. It finally got rid of the 32-bit memory limitation that Skyrim on release had and added a bunch of new visual effects.
Since Bethesda is going to do this FO4 upgrade free-of-charge, the possibility of a SE level upgrade is minimal.
Hopefully that means mods wont break...
@@zombiefanatic4833 FOSE will be broken due to the new update regardless of any actual changes done, and this is the same company that made the Switch version of their 11 year old game unplayable due to butchered code they never fixed going spastic due to the immense amount of garbage paid mods dumped into the game world.
As a console player the idea of traveling through Boston and not immediately crash or getting into the vertibird for the Brotherhood of Steel and also not immediately crash would be amazing so amazing in fact I'd be willing to wait a few months for some of my favorite mods again I don't even use things that would take a lot frames the biggest mod I can think of is honestly the Watts 3000 laser rifle

@@MRBOOOYA Nah I have a 6950XT and it still runs like shit in some spots. Thr game optimization is dogshit and heavy on single core cpu. I can literally stand in downtown Boston and get 45 fps with 2K texture mods on 1440p with reactor enb and watch my task manager only register 35p usage on gpu. Devs fucked up
@@ChitWhitly Yep Its the game engine it doesn't matter what gpu you have.I got 4090 and still get framerate drops in skyrim modded out.Never tried fallout 4 yet but i'm going for playthrough soon a winter survival overhaul playthrough

I down a load of rad-x and swim in the water past downtown if I'm ever going north because I get like 4 frames in downtown
@@jackbudgen8858 With the help of some mods that optimize vanilla textures and replace the original *.bsa files I have brought my FPS up to 45 to 50 fps. Originally, it would drop into the 20's. Doesn't seem to matter what your system is.

If I remember correctly you get enough points for the backpack since they gave you free points, just enough to get a cosmetic and that's about it. I think I got it on sale, along with some pipboy colors being free. This was awhile ago on ps4 so idk what's changed on dat
Also I agree this is probably a test to see how the new engine works and probably so what they can do with it more so you get more "content" on the older games or just 76

I was 17 when i first played fallout 1. I also bought it the week came out lol.
I want to see a CC mod that adds an NCR set and the Service Rifle.
There already a lot of mods for that, even if there one, it probably bare bone clothing with almost no option to modified it or gun with cursed model to fit vanilla combat rifle or handmade rifle animation ( look screaming eagle skin for handmade rifle in fallout 76)

@@demomanchaos I'm not begging to be exploited. That's not what I'm shooting for at all. I just want everyone to have an equal chance at having cool stuff too. Not everyone can have amazing 7gb mods or an xbox to run good mods. Plus not everyone wants to use third party mods. Some people just want to use what is in the game already. CC included. I dont want it to be behind a pay wall at all. I want it to be added in as a free update or dlc so people can enjoy Fallout more. But unfortunately that wont happen. We'll still need to pay the extra money to get it if we want it, but at least its less expensive than building an $800 computer. I'm sure you understand where I am coming from.

Fingers crossed the next gen updates include splitting the grenade and bash/power attack buttons and also an option to rebalance everything.

Can't wait for the anniversary edition which could include all the creation club content into one dlc pack. This update would also mean that the Creation Kit will also be getting an update to support the coming features for this next gen Fallout 4. Hopefully Bethesda fixes the game breaking bugs as well as fixing some Creation Kit bugs too.

At least its free. In all honesty, they should delete Fallout 76 and take the devs that are working on it and put them to work on either a Fallout 3 remaster or Fallout 5.

No no. That’s a compatibility and redundancy/obsolescence issue. We want more mod space so we have the ability to play the game when there’s an update to one single mod in a 7-10 mod load order.

I've already turned off autoupdates in steam and tuned on offline mode. I see no chance this will be good update. They will stuff this next gen into this game like you stuff clothes into too small closet. Guys will try to adjust their mods for this new version, not to mention aeons of waiting for adjusted script extender (and also you have take into account waiting time for patch for this update, since right after release it will be unplayable!), some modders will manage, most probably will not... There will be splits, forks, patches for mods, incompatibilities, inabilities.... ehh. If you update, there's no way you will end up with the same load order. You know exactly how it will end. Fallout 77. I'm product of Schneider CPC gaming, I need 320x240 res to feel uhd vibe of a game, not some raytracing bullshift. But I get it, some folks play nomods vanilla, and on consoles, and want this shinier graphics. Nothing bad in this, but from my perspective it is terror and horror and mayhem for every mod list. It is also worth to mention that thanks to mods we can turn this game in such eyecandy and gameplay masterpiece that this update will not even get near of;). So here goes warm than you for modders I guess.
exactly lol its 2022 n their skyrim still looks bad like really next gen? i would just say stick your mods till we are absolutely sure its graphically good, 60 fps and by god worth doing new missions, coz god knows bethesda when they will upgrade their creation update.

Hoping they actually fix performance issues such as downtown Boston and other heavily populated areas without breaking mod lists. My guess though is the first update will be exactly like skyrim anniversary edition where we swim through invisible water for a good month and a half.
Don't be stupid, notice the fact the paid mods are specifically mentioned. This is a cash grab meant to get some new hype to sell a very slightly modified revamp to console players who they hope will spend money on paid mods. This is the same company that dumped the paid mods onto the Switch version of Skyrim and literally made the game entirely unplayable due to their crap programming.
Boston is a mess of broken and poorly placed occlusions. This means stuff not even visible renders. It would take them years to fix that.

Noooo CC update means several mods will break and the probability of mod authors not being around or moving on with life is high
On the other hand I actually want to see what new CC content comes out, some of them are rather decent, like the doughnut one and the neon apartment
Fallout creation club has free content every week. Check often to get it all. Ready for the updates. 5 better really step up. This video was in my recommended list. No trigger words I guess.
It's true I have almost all CC content and paid for about half.
There is little to nothing worth getting on CC.
There are so many mods that add weapons with great reload/equip animations and the guns feel great to use.
Also plenty of other game enhancing mods that make the game feel new

Considering I _still_ play on my PS4 - the old/first one and not the slim version - all I would like is an update that massively improves 4's ability to function with or w/o CC mods installed... and truth be told, I certainly wouldn't say no to a few new CC mods. If Bethesda hasn't done so already, I would greatly appreciate a Gun Runners CC mod that not only overhauls 4's guns, but adds in returning ones from 3 & New Vegas that have their *own* sounds & animations.
That, and cybernetic implants for my character & Dogmeat.

This is Bethesda, we already know what's going to happen. No significant changes to performance or content, will introduce new bugs, will update several times to further delay mod compatibility, then they will give up and leave the bug fixes to modders and will find a way to charge us for it.
After Skyrim anniversary edition I have zero faith in Bethesda "next-gen" updates. Can't wait for all my mods to break

I've been playing black ops games since I was 5 cant tell me what to do. I also hope they make the mods the same size as your console storage so if I have 3 games that equal 253mb out of 1 tb ill have like 740mb of mod space
