I'd like a more videos in this series, too. Not so sure on the questions, but I find your workflow interesting and I particularly enjoyed the overhead and creative shots. I rarely film additional shots after the rough cut unless a shot is absolutely not working or I missed one so that was a good reminder.
Great series, really finding this helpful! Maybe something about how to find the right style of video for your content. You have a very patticular style, how did you arrive at that? As a new creator I struggle to know what direction to go, should there be a voiceover or talking to camera, music or not, fast cuts or ASMR long form, vlog style, irreverant and less scripted or more professional?! Thanks again for putting out great content!
When things go wrong. Not necessarily a blooper reel (but that could be relatable/consoling) but how you work thru disappointing footage content. And how you troubleshoot when it just feels flat but you don't know why. This video was on point, as always. Thanks for all you do Matthew.

As an architect an designer I like to build stuff, specially furniture, I wish I could make most of my designs and accesories one day, just like you did, sometimes you cannot find the right table, desk or piece of furniture for your needs, you have to design and build it for yourself if you can. Tons of my content is long term documentation. My approach: I shoot as many major milestones along the way. Then at some point I write my script, once I have a sense of what the story/perspective is, then I capture additional shots to recreate and illustrate the moments I’m missing from my story.

Hey Matthew, great video. Not sure if you'll see this, but I like on you panned the camera to show your computer screen. This this helpful for things like showing Notion or other software in use. What tips do you have to make those videos more interesting than simply recording the screen?
Thanks. Two ways off the top of my head: 1. Cut away to b-roll that shows the results of what you're doing. 2. Use animation to give more emphasis and visual stimulation.

I think the best way to explain what I am struggling with is how to edit within the premier suite with Adobe; I would love to see in detail how you do your transition and placement of your shots taken to build the project. It would also be good to see how you line up each shot in detail when you lining up your script to build your final sequences.
Love your work Matthew! I never knew you had your own channel off of theFutur. The next logical part 3 would for sure have to be about post production. Can you show us your process and what you tend to look for, or more specifically what do you remove? Because I noticed that in your video, you were able to "easily" critique your own work and what needs to be changed. Do you distance yourself from your work? An advice I've heard is give yourself atleast one day, have another person watch it while watching it with them. Etc. Thanks! You deserve all the success you have seen, and will see. 😊

Interesting video, I enjoy looking at the process behind the scenes. Having made (or tried to) makes some videos it is amazing how much time you spend shooting / editing VS what you end up with. @@MatthewEncina 2:25 for example you can see the back of the screen using f10 so keep your shutter at 180 degrees, just found it interesting doing that rather than using a variable ND for instance - wasn’t sure if it was a creative choice or just for speed!

For a long CZcams video, it usually takes 4-6 weeks start to end. For a short/reel it’s usually a day.

Thanks. For this shoot, I think I shot the payoff shot 6 times? I'm still working on my latte art skills, so many of the attempts I wasn't happy with.

Really interesting to see the BTS process! What was your thought process for choosing to stop down to f8-10 rather than using ND filters to cut light?

@@MatthewEncina 2:25 for example you can see the back of the screen using f10 so keep your shutter at 180 degrees, just found it interesting doing that rather than using a variable ND for instance - wasn’t sure if it was a creative choice or just for speed!
