    The saddest thing about Scott's death is everyone saw it coming but no one could prevent it. His addiction and mental state were going to find a way to destroy him eventually.

      Exactly what I said!! If he had one person at least that really cared he may still be here. That’s why I cried so much over his death. I was a fan from his start but u could see his decline it wasn’t even being able to be hid. I couldn’t understand why no one would help him . I know when your famous everything is yes and they never hear no or you can’t . I know thats why it’s so hard for someone who is famous to get clean. They have all kinds of drugs at their disposal any time of the day or night. I’m sure they have a drug dealer on speed dial! It’s just sad for Scott, to die so young. I hate drugs they have took so many lives. Seems with money and fame you can still be unhappy and have demons on your back.May he R.I.P.

I got to hang out with him all day and I just have this to say: Scott Weiland was the saddest person I've ever met; it broke my heart to see him that way. The pain and grief just oozed out of him.
    As a singer he was unrivaled in his diversity and range. He was a kind, loving man that lost EVERYTHING he ever loved - his band STP, guitarist & friend Jeremy, brother & both parents, 2 wives, contact with his children...some of the comments on here are SO shallow and insensitive; what if that was your brother or best friend? And Charle Steen. I thought he was a gonner, especially when got HIV. These days, HIV is NOT a death sentence anymore like in the 80s, if you got it, back then, there was nothing they could do. People like Freddy Mecury and Liberoche had no chance. Most of the time their immune systems just shut down and the flu or pnumonia killed them. Now they have so many things to give you, you have a very good chance to make it like Magic Johnon, he has been living with it for decades. Then you have Easy E, who died very quickly after he found out he had it.
      Thank God for the scientists who were able to save thousands of lives..THOSE are the people that should be given all the millions of dollars that are used on political9 campigns. That song has so many great memories for me. I play it when I take a long road trip. When I hear the song I always envision him wearing that wild pink puffy coat and cowboy hat he wore in that video. Big Empty is another song I love. When I hear that song I always think of Brandon Lee. That song was in the soundtrack for the Crow, the movie where Brandon Lee died. Weiland was so talented. If you read his book all the demons are revealed and it becomes clear why he chose to live the life that he did. I’ve been on a Mitch Hedburg kick lately, and Mitch died one decade before Scott in 2005. He was a heroin addict too and super talented. Mitch was a comedian, but he was compared more to a rock star, if you don’t know who he is, look him up he physically reminds me a lot of Scott. Mitch toured incessantly and lived for the road, but he also lived for drugs. Scott was the same but he also indulged to medicate his soul from his pain. The most tortured souls are some of these most talented. RIP Scott.

Scott dying was sad, but I personally think it was inevitable because of everything he'd been through. Saying that it was still a sad day when I heard, it's like his demons finally got him. Seeing that performance was heartbreaking, he sounded so out of it. He had such a stage presence, he was a unique individual. That's just Howard stern. He has always been that way. I remember when he first came out, he was known to be very forward with questioning, had no respect for women, as they were objects to him. Most women who went on his show or did phone interviews knew how he was and didn't seem to mind. They kinda laughed off his sexual harrassment type of show, no other way to put it. One thing I can agree with him on, over all these years,he said publicly that he knows Chris Cornell did not kill himself suicide by hanging. Said that he knew him,.it was no secret Chris has been on his show. He said that publicly may be over the summer or something, and THEIR TRULY is ALOT surrounding Chris Cornell's death that is very questionable. I know it doesn't have anything to do with Scott, but kinda in a way may be just because well drinking and pills. Depression. Idk he just says he will never believe Chris done it. Rest in peace Chris, Scott, Kurt, Layne, Andrew Wood from MLB, and of course we can't leave out Shannon Hoone from Blind Melon. So many from that era alone, just gone too soon. I respectively will also say RIP to Chester Bennington, who was great friends with Chris Cornell, and took his life on May 18th following CC's death.. To be exact on his birthday. I guess he honestly couldn't take it, when I say RIP to all of these, I can hardly listen to any interviews or watch them without getting very emotional. His comments towards Richard Patrick were far too familiar. "I've been clean for a long time now, I've been over that 'habit' for a while"... Etc. My sister said these *exact* words to me. While she was laying in a hospital bed. Those were some of the last words she said to me, because she died of endocarditis just hours later.
    She never stopped using, she wouldn't go to rehab, she just pretended she had stopped and stuck to that lie.
    It's fucking heartbreaking man. I have no other siblings. And I love the "grunge" era too for the music, but the celebration of the lifestyle should absolutely not be condoned. There's nothing cool or glamorous about leaving children with no mother or father. There's nothing fucking cool about dying.
    I feel the same way about the rampant use of codeine cough syrup in the rap community. It's liquid heroin and so much easier to consume than sticking a needle in your arm. That's the big epidemic now and people should be more concerned about more young people dying.
    R.I.P. to my sister Angela. And To Kurt, Scott, Shannon, Andy, Kristen, Chris, and anyone I may have left out due to the clouded vision of my tears.

    So sad, I played a show with him in Utica NY and was so excited to see him play after my band’s set was over. It was just like this footage here...so so alarming. Scott was singing the wrong words, mumbling, and clearly on a variety of chemicals. People were walking out of the show it was so bad. One of my favorite musicians, even I left before the encore. We need more mental health and addiction services in our industry. This is unfortunately par for the course. We must help one another and change the stress and the way we deal with the stress. Damn.

      Scott should have never been on that tour. He was in terrible health physically and mentally and in no shape to tour the way guys in their early 20's do. He slept on that tour bus and played shitty dives night after night because he was so broke. He was drinking heavily and dabbling with other drugs. It is sad to see and to contemplate that someone of his talent and fame was so low at the end. RIP Scott.

    As a former addict myself, this really highlights the intrinsic suffering & diminishment that is part of being an addict. I don't advocate that people become adverse to the potential experiences available through experimenting with substances however, realise the risks are real and you're not necessarily going to stay in control. Be careful & kind to yourself!

    Scotty was my favorite frontman, aside from Freddie Mercury. When I learned he had died, I was not at all surprised. I was heartbroken, but not surprised. In fact, I am shocked that he lived as long as he did. He was no longer the Scott Weiland we knew & loved & he hadn’t been for nearly 10 years. I suspect he suffered at least one stroke sometime during or just after the Velvet Revolver days, as well as his admission that he essentially traded in his addiction to smack for booze & he was an alcoholic in his last 10+ years. These factors, combined with the damage of decades of smoking cigarettes, crack and/or meth, as well as the assortment of prescription medications he took (Buprenorphine, some benzodiazepines, erectile dysfunction meds, and another psychiatric medication) and the cocaine- man, his body just gave up. I saw him live with STP (August 2011 in Austin Texas) & though it was a decent show, I could tell that Scott was absolutely shit faced drunk. Sad to say but true, Scott actually performed much better as a “junkie” than he ever did as a drunk. His widow gets little to no respect from me, for she was co-signing & enabling all of this shit by marrying him when he was clearly sick & not all there. Also, the fact that Jeremy (band member of The Wildabouts) died not even a year prior to Scott (of a heroin overdose), plus the coke & drinking in every city with Tommy Black (another band member), plus longtime close friend & bandmate Doug Grean distancing himself from Scott in the years prior to his death, plus his brothers in STP “firing” him- It is just too much & I feel that he was surrounded by enablers & fellow addicts, as well as tragedy & fuck ups.
    I will adore Scott until forever, but it is damn painful to see him as he was in the end. I prefer to remember him as he was until about 2005-2006.

    • @rly7568
      @rly7568 Před 4 lety +1

      Way too many enablers. I know you can only help someone who wants to help themselves, but I really don't see anyone encouraging him to get help here, too many people wanting their slice of the cash cow pie. Tragic and preventable.

I remember being blown away by the entire band. How hard they were. "Lounge Fly" stands out plus their acoustic section & the stage like a living room with giant lava lamps. Lol. In '01, it was that stretch where Scott was clean, and holy sh*t he was on fire. Literally controlled the crowd, and they played for almost 2 hours. STILL 2 of my all time favorite concerts.
