This thing makes the Khabarovsk look like a ferrari.. those torps remind me of Yoshino's 20km torps... a lot of times I send them off to typical traffic lanes and 10 minutes later I see a torp hit and laugh a bit as I die on the inside for my inability to tell wargaming no

That's a strange looking Bayard... I do have to say the damage always racks up very fast once you start shooting. Not a fast reload yes, but you hit every shell you shoot.

I have been sitting on about 1.3mil GXP. Maybe it's time I spend it, but I'm always worried something better will come out right after. Hrrmmm.... I'd like a really good cruiser to come out, I have all the current.
Well… patch notes next week? They so seldom add new GXP ships (well, that weren’t campaigns first).. but then it’s only a two weeks update… so you’ll still have temptation to wait 🫠

I have been thinking about savings for the Elbing since I am already at 1m global exp. Seems like a ship with a lot of potential but also seems like a ship that's very matchmaking dependent since your primary food in this thing are cruisers and like you mentioned you are basically taking a destroyer slot to play a cruiser.
Indeed, it has great AA, but it’s pretty bad for doing destroyer things 🫠

my favourite thing to do in elbing is to just sit on the side of a cap and get all the broadside cruisers. i took out 2 worcesters and a des moines the other day because of that, and then later on a yoshino

Elbing does not mess around with broadside minotaurs (I learnt that the hard way)
Doesn't mess around with _any_ broadsides, hard part is actually having a match last long enough where you get to find them 🫠
I love cruiser hunter DDs. I know they’re not the best at winning games but it’s so satisfying citadel-ing cruisers to death in a DD.
💯 getting a good bonking on the light cruisers is so hilarious too 🤣
There are lots of CCs, Metajerk is my favourite however.

The problem is that more often than not you will get uptiered cause elbing is a tier eight. And let me tell you, getting bullied by legendaries is no bueno. Another notable problem is that, especially at legendary tier, cruisers are rare which translates to elbing being virtually useless, until it gets trashed by a gearing or a cleber anyway. Idk, I like the premise of this ship but I have not been having terrific success so far…

Jerk, I got a question. Have you got a kraken on the European Tier VI or VII?. Because I got the Skane today and it's so good. The way I play it is setting fires with the guns then hope they DC. Then get a flood right after and it works. Just wanted to share out, and GG!
Yessum, Skåne, Oland, and Östergötland have all been on the big shoe.. if you’re ever looking to spend a little scratch, then Oland is an awesome pickup, it’s everything you love about Skåne but way better, harder hitting torps, faster firing guns etc.. on pc it’s actually the tech tree ship between Skåne and Östergötland..
But you can wait, because Östergötland is faaaaaantastic and free!

I dont know about the whole not being able to do destroyer things. I mean you do have great stealth, the most HP for a t8 dd and 25mm side plating which most dd's HE will shatter on. For me its a great dd, just gotta keep that low maneuverability in mind and youre good to go.
IMO, that low maneuverability is huge, and the 25mm plate is more a liability if you’re going against a decent DD player as that will absolutely arm any DD AP, admittedly, that’s a rarity 🤣
But still, fun ship!

Also, I have taken W2R off of all my BB's. Much to the amusement of my div mates at times. They chuckle when I tell them to not bother sticking around, I run FwF. But it works and it feels more honest.
