I don't remember the sand bars being green, 40 odd years ago when I'd go cockle-ing on them. I remember them being clear of vegetation at low tide, like it is in your film. You would have a hard time getting a rake through that now. What do you think has changed? Are they protected from cockling now? Is it something environmental?

I really couldn't say I'm afraid - I know there's a lot of pollution in the river these days, but that's as much as I know 👍
