Man, it really is something to watch once-young performers grow old.
On another note, the reality of GGD's success, is that they did not "explode" until they made their music sound more mainstream and I will say, universal. And imo it was a good decision they made. Sure, their original fanbase was mad about it (and maybe still are to this day), but I don't think the switch compromised their identity at all. The band still wrote amazing songs that millions around the world connected with, and as far as I am concerned, that is their identity, and will be their legacy.
It is indeed a privilege to watch artists grow and change.
The truth is that what Lindsey Stirling has is that when you listen to it and see how it moves, it makes you feel something that you don't know how to explain and I love it.
I love the way she plays because I think she is one of the few people who knows how to express her passion and that passion is expressed to most of the world and it seems as if it transforms you to another world.

just thank you for playing in such a different, so inexplicable and beautifully different way.

My mom introduced me to the Goo Goo Dolls when I was little and I have appreciated them ever since, and my art teacher and one of my best friends got me hooked on Lindsey Stirling. I thank those people so much for introducing me to a world of wonderful music!! This duo is beautiful!

I cant handle how amazing this is. These two are literally two of my favorite artists ever. This song is one of the first songs I did a cover of on the guitar when I used to play in highschool. My heart is exploding right now. ❤❤❤

The way you do this is nifty. Doing live music collaborations over the Internet is basically impossible because of latency. But this is close, and the video editing to make it seem to be happening is fantastic.

Yes please, more of our favourite entertainers telling us how to live our lives that's what we want from them alright. Because when we think of Entertainer's and how they lead their lives, clearly they are great role models... right? And don't worry we know all the stuff they tell us to do with our lives they wouldn't get caught dead doing, let alone caught alive doing any of it. Great.
I have a lot of assignments to do but as soon as this premieres, all of that is gonna be yeeted out the window so I can watch this 🤩I may fail but sacrifices must be made 😂

Thank you for these String Sessions. I am really enjoying them (after the fact). I am listening to and "meeting: artists I never would have otherwise. For instance - Johnny Rzeznik. I like the Goo Goo Dolls, but I don't know the names of any members of the band. Now I do! :o) I also like what the two of you had to say and you summed it up so precisely - Lift where you stand. Brilliant! That needs to be spread far and wide. I remember when I was in Girl Scouts, we were taught to always leave a place better/cleaner than we found it. Picking up trash, straightening up chairs, wiping down tables or bathroom sinks (if you can - hard to do without papertowels), etc.

I love String Sessions! I love the different takes on the songs when you do them with the artists, and the questions you have for the artists. They've made for a good conversation and I learn something from each person's story.
I love this song even have an Iris tattooed in my arm. THIS rendition was absolutely beautiful. I've been moved to tears. Lindsey you are amazing and ridiculously talented. Can't wait to hear more of your music.
Gotta be the best violinist in the world truly amazing, and johnny sounds in top form like he used to in the 90s its really nice to hear because it seemed he was having problems with his voice in recent years but now its definitely back full force, they compliment each others sound perfectly, thank you for this really enjoyed it. I also had no idea johnny was so intelligent and down to earth he speaks nothing but truth and sense in the interview.

Hi! I just loved the song (as I used to BTW) such as the interview! I really think he's present at the things we're facing nowadays in our world. I know he mentioned America in particular; but, definitely, he's addressing the message to the rest of the people everywhere who are dealing with the same stuff. And yes! When my YT recommend feed is filled with the negativity in the world, seeing your vid pop up brought some light into it all. Yes, it's important to know what's going on outside of your comfort zone. However, sometimes the constant barrage of bad news gets to be much. I'm just the low man on the totem pole, but I've raised my kids to not be racists and to be fair and kind to others regardless of gender, race, age, or even economic status. Anyways, my point is that even though we should know what's going on beyond or CZ, we need to balance that out with light and hope. Lindsey, you do that and I appreciate it so much!

I've heard this song so many times and even played through a piano arrangement of of it years ago, but I have never seen City of Angels: the movie where "Iris" was featured. Apparently, City of Angels is loosely based on an older film from the 1980s called Wings of Desire. Both films had something to do with a Guardian Angel wanting to feel love and have mortality, although Wings of Desire was deeper and more philosophical. It was also in German and set in Berlin.
