I have a 1999 Mercedes’ slk230 and am looking to do the same thing. It’s a hydraulic system, but an o ring went out on the main cylinder and it leaks hydraulic fluid. Mercedes parts and repairs for such a complex little system is absurd. Like 500 for the part being repaired and that’s not including the install (which I can’t do myself).
Anyways, my issue is the smaller triangle windows that usually go down last in the process no longer go down automatically because the system is broken. I know how to manually power the window motors using a lawn mower battery, I’ve done it before, but would you have any recommendations on how to make it a quicker process. I have to remove some of the carpet in order to access the cables to connect them to the battery to manually slide the windows up or down

  • @colemabro

When the tonneau cover isn’t full engaged, does water become a problem? And also is there anyway for them to lock up without the manual kit as i have manual front latch already but the motors in the back are shot i believe

A good video and shows you working through the process as you go... But I can't help but think between the parts you bought and the time you spent figuring it out and getting it done... You could easily have just fixed it and maybe even added the same modules I added to mine that let you fully open or close with a single push of the button, even while in motion (you can set the maximum road speed it will work at).
